This is one of my favorite spots to see a show. The crowd is always dancing and a great mix of all sorts of people. The outdoor patio is a great spot to cool off from dancing.

Great music venue. Poor Man's Whiskey brought the house down. Mostly standing room, a few more seats would be nice if it can be worked out while keeping the amazing ambiance.

Visited Moes about a week ago for the first time with my husband. The only good part about the night was the music. High price for mediocre drinks that tasted watered down. The most disappointing part of this experience was finding out that they charged two tabs on our card! I called a couple days later when I noticed and was told by the manager I'd get a call back, but I didn't get a call back until two days later after I called her again. She said they would refund us back, but it's been almost a week, so now I have to go through my bank. Very disappointing! We will definitely be visiting the Catalyst next time!

A hidden gem that attracts phenomenal bands playing almost every night. They will take care of you with great food & drinks too!

Got to see Sean Hayes my first time here. Excellent wait staff, decent drink prices, and the sound was very good.
A friend complained that she could smell cigarette smoke. They do have a smoking patio right out the back. The doors were open all night. I didn't smell anything, and I'm usually pretty sensitive to cig smoke.

I cannot comment on Glenda Bennett's comments about Moe's Alley, as I was not there for the things that happened that she described in her review. My experience has been very different. I play with Broken English, a local (Santa Cruz) band that has existed for 26 years of which I have been a member for a total of about 22 years. My experience has been that this club is a great place to play and I've always been treated wonderfully by the staff and management. In particular, they have one of the best sound persons that I have ever worked with. Yes, most of the promotion is left up to the bands, but that is no surprise these days - most places have that policy locally. On top of that, the club has a great spectrum of bands that play many different styles. So, I say five stars.

He may kiss the asses of any "famous" person who plays his club etc but on over 10 gigs I have attended and played the owner does nothing but try to give love to any local artist. HE brags all day about how awesome he is etc but the facts are he will take $ out of your pocket anytime he can. He will book your band then forget to make posters or even advertise in his club although he does for everyone else. This guy is a A HOLE! After he DOESN NOTHING to promote your band or any band he will then take a huge cut of the door money even though YOUr the ONLY person to bring a human being into his place. Typical club that trets great people like trash!

Great music, great atmosphere. energetic crowd on weekdays, too. Brings in the best acts in the area. Beer is pretty pricey, especially after paying a cover, but it's not bad compared to other Santa Cruz venues. Free parking across the street.

What can I say. Best place to see your favorite artist and have some awesome drinks and food. Intimate time with your friends, family and favorite artists. The people are super friendly and hospitable.

Decent sound, best place to around to see original artists of blues, funk, ethnic, soul and reggae for me unless Askenaz or Independent (which are quite a drive from home!)
