Great place for an interesting work out or if you're looking to explore climbing as a sport or hobby. Reasonably priced especially if you have your own equipment.

Had a great time here with my little sister. You have to learn how to "belay" or operate the ropes for each other before you can go on the course. It cost around 31 dollars, but there was a deal for 45 dollars that included way more perks. Instructors very friendly.

My wife brought seven kids to Rock Ventures for my son's birthday, at $20 each. I brought an ice cream cake to celebrate and they wouldn't allow us to serve and eat it there, despite the picnic tables in the building. The reasoning was that ice cream cakes make too much of a mess, and other types of cake are permitted. Terrible customer service.

Large facility, friendly staff, reasonably priced introductory course package to get you to come back for more. Most people there seem to have a lot of fun. Safety first!

Rock Ventures helped me plan a last minute birthday party for our son. From start to finish, every staff member was kind, helpful and experienced. Our party host was attentive and thorough. The kids (and all of the parents) loved it too!

Climb! Whole family lives climbing here. The bouldering caves are a lot of fun. You can also try the high ropes course if you feel the need for some added excitement.

We had a great time!! My son and I had never been before..it was intimidating walking in and looking around but the young man behind the counter was helpful, friendly and polite and got us started with Tyler who helped us with the ropes. He was also very friendly, polite and made the experience very enjoyable for the both of us!! Thank you, we will be back!😀 and thanks Tyler for keeping us safe

Good routes, regular resetting & great customer service. The price is somewhat steep, but the equipment is quality and regularly maintained, so it's totally reasonable.

Employees are friendly but the facility is outdated, dirty and overpriced for what it offers. There are routes still set from 2009. The holds are from the 90's which isn't a problem if they are cleaned and maintained regularly, which they're not. Routes are often missing tape and we've encountered 3 spinners so far.
For being the only top roping place in Rochester, it's a shame that it's poorly managed and maintained.
When asked if I had a chalk ball in my bag, I said yes and the employee working said, "okay, good, because otherwise I have to vacuum." They should be vacuuming every night, anyway.
Also, I love the fact that kids can come here and climb but there were several toddlers running around and it seemed quite dangerous. I actually wound up tripping over one, narrowly missing falling on the kid. There should be an age limit, like 5 and up.
Also, the ropes are not well maintained as they're dirty and leave black gunk on your hands while belaying. The facility provides gloves of needed, however.
There are some overhang climbs that really should have safety clip ins, otherwise you swing pretty far, in the routes of other climbers.
Overall, an entertaining place to bring kids but not a place for rock climbers.response / report this review
