I love Marketview Liquor. The staff is very professional and friendly. I love the atmosphere and display of items of the day. They seem to have more varieties than other stores and are willing to order what you want. Don't bother going to the other stores, you will always find what you want at the best price at Marketview Liquor.

Went there just with enough time before they close, I showed them my ID at the register and was told by the cashier and manager that they could not sell a bottle of wine to me because my ID was expired. Very disappointed.

The location is just off 390 which is convenient for many (avoiding the Pittsford plaza after-work booze rush) and I find Marketview has a better selection of foreign wines and a more convenient and well-labeled layout than Century. Helpful staff and clear/consistent price by shelf (lowest shelf lowest price). They carry all the standard stuff and has different distributors than Century so I expect to see some different variety between the two.
Depending on how fanatical a fan you become you can order wines and such off their website :) but be aware the shipping is not cheap.response / report this review -

Ordered some wine from here that I cannot get locally. easy to use website and nice email notices BUT Fed-Ex shipper was terrible. No notice from Fed-Ex that package was to be delivered and we missed first attempt and I had to wait around all day Saturday or shipment would have been sent back ( Fed-Ex finally showed up at 4:30pm !) . Will probably order again from here but request different shipper, if possible.

Marketview has terrific selection. Plenty to choose from and reasonable prices. The store is setup nicely, and I love the expansive finger lakes and other sections with options other stores don't carry. Regular tastings are also nice. That said, some of the cashiers have incredibly poor customer service skills which bring down the otherwise very positive experience. Went in earlier and the woman who cashed me out was rather short, unpleasant and borderline rude. I've had the displeasure of being cashed out by her in the past when buying a case of wine with the same impression. I've been frequenting marketview for many years and would like to continue though will certainly stay away if forced to deal with Ms. Cranky pants every time.

Cassie I'm so sorry to hear about your experience at Marketview Liquor.
I too am a shopper there and have nothing but a great time shopping
at Marketview. I have experienced the same problem a few times, mostly
with a California wine. Who knows how long a wine is on a delivery truck.
I know for a fact that all you have to do is take the bottle back and you will get store credit. I have used my store credit to try different wines, and
I am always happy. The store looks amazing and the staff is even better !

For high quality spirits, cordials, and other cocktail materials, Marketview is clearly the best in the Rochester area. It's hard to find something they don't carry, which can't be said for their competitors. My only small complaint is that I wish there was a slightly larger selection of bitters, such as Dr. Adam Elmegirab's Boker's, the full Bitter Truth line (especially Jerry Thomas's Own Decanter!), and so on. Still, as the expanded world of bitters is a relatively new thing on the cocktail scene & nowhere else in the area carries a large selection of them either, it's hard to hold this against what is otherwise the best liquor retailer in town. Oh - and their prices are good too!

Service was always amazing until they hired the new people. There are three people there who are just plain rude. The worst is the little blonde girl. She embarrassed me by refusing me service due to my bank card having my maiden name, even though I showed her my old, expired ID that had my maiden name on it. I will not be returning to Marketview Liquor. I would rather spend more money elsewhere in Rochester, because friendly and intelligent store representatives is worth the extra $20 or $30.

I typically shop at Marketview Liquor twice a week, as I host small dinner parties with fellow parents from my child's private kindergarten. All of my visits were always great, and I never thought I would experience a single bad transaction at all, but I was proven wrong, and this incident was devastating for my young son.
I had gathered my usual wines and approached the front to complete my transaction. The line was empty; at the front stood one employee - a young, blonde haired girl. My son, whom suffers from autism, walked past the "Please Wait Here" sign, the aforementioned action being a result of his inability to read due to his mild incapacitates. Anyways, as I approached the check-out counter, the young girl told me, in a harsh, demanding, demeaning tone that, "If you are to expect your child to behave, then you should discipline him and teach him to mind the signage posted at the entrance way to the registers." She then went on to state that good parenting could easily resolve my child's inability to obey posted restrictions in the store.
I have never been so offended in my life. I was so "shocked" at what she had said that I simply mumbled "yeah" as I paid the dues and exited the store. It is one thing to question the actions of an adult, but to immediately attack a young child, whom has autism, though that may not be evident upon visual perception, is the most unprofessional action by a human-being I have ever witnessed at that store, or at any store for that matter. I should have made a scene, but because my son is scared of loud noises and cannot 'handle' aggressive emotions coming from those around him, I chose to maintain my composure and exit the store silently.
I will never again shop at this establishment. Even if that young, blonde haired girl is terminated or quits her job, still, I will never again return to Marketview Liquor. I do hope reformation is quickly put into action inside this establishment, pertaining to the type of individuals employed by this establishment, because this is the most disgusting thing I have ever, and will ever, endure. Had my wife witnessed this young lady say what she said, there probably would've been a more mundane approach, but she is the feisty one in the family.
Thank you for all of the excellent experiences in which I have had the pleasure of partaking, but I must say my goodbye for good, because I would rather pay more money to avoid exposing my son to such horrible characteristics and personality traits.response / report this review -
