Beautiful view and wonderful food. We had the calamari appetizer and each had a salad. I had the Caesar and my husband had the Strawberry salad. Great waitress too.
Great food and atmosphere! Lobster Mac and the Bourbon Atlantic Salmon were phenomenal! Staff was extremely friendly and we even got a golf cart ride out to the restaurant. Very family friendly.
We've been here a number of times and it's a hit or miss with the food. There have been dishes we've ordered that have been phenomenal and then others not so much. The staff have been great and attentive each visit. Great waiting area but gets a little crowded depending ok what time you visit.
Great food! The lobster risotto and bacon wrapped swordfish were delicious! The server was impeccable! The happy hour was a nice bonu. However, I did get sick to my tummy later that night, but I think it was due to the heavy amounts of cream, which I am not used to. No one else in my party had any tummy troubles and we all shared our food.
Very good food. Loved the chili pineapple sauce with the calamari. I had a shrimp po'boy with house made slaw. Shrimp were good. Others at the table tried the crab cake sandwich, swordfish, and the lobster roll. All were good. Only off point was the roll that the lobster was on. That bun didn't belong. Lobster itself was great. Service was great. Our hostess was friendly and professional. We sat outside. The sun hits the deck a bit hard, but with a light breeze off the water and the beautiful view it's great. Liked watching the dolphins playing in the channel.
Service was prompt and friendly and the food was excellent. Green Goddess shrimp is amazing.
Been there multiple times and never disappointed. Service is good, food is great and the view is perfect.
Great new luncheon menu, but regular menu also available. Great meeting place for our family - we're going back this week!
Brand new to the area and are extremely happy to find this place in out backyard. Excellent food, super servic and a gorgeous location. Highly recommended!
Great food and a great location. Outdoor seating right on the Manatee River. A wonderful place to take the family or a nice date with someone special.
We recently took a family vacation from NE Ohio to Bradenton, FL. We searched for a restaurant that would meet the varying tastes of the 10 adults and children in our party and found the Riverhouse. We were very excited to have dinner there, as we were impressed with customer reviews and the menu was perfect! We were told that we should make a reservation for Thursday, as on Friday they were expecting a large convention and it would be crowdedso we made our reservation for Thursday as instructed. When we arrived, the atmosphere was relaxed and invitingwe were seated right away. We were impressed with the views and were excited to sit outside after dinner to enjoy the live entertainment scheduled for later that evening.
Unfortunately, it did not take long before we were regretting our choice of restaurant. Our waitress took our drink orders and quickly hurried off across the restaurant to attend to the other tables to which she was assigned. She brought back our drinks then told us she would be back to take our orders. She returned a few times, only to rush off without taking our orders and kept stating "I'll be right back". Eventually, she took our orders for appetizers. By the time our appetizers arrived, our drinks were empty. She dropped off our appetizers (which were really good!!) and hurried off again, even though one of the men in our group called out for her so we could refill our drinkshe was ignored. We waited for quite a while. When our waitress didn't return, we went to find the manager to ask her to find someone to either replace our waitress or help her. (We were a party of 10, after all). The manager stated she would send someone else to help her. Another lady came to our table and took half of the group's drink order then walked away in mid conversation. At this point, we summoned the manager again and stated we were no longer interested in having dinner here and we would like to pay for the drinks we had and leave. By this time, we had already been there about an hourand our dinner orders had not yet been taken.
The manager apologized and asked us to give her a chance to make things right. She personally took the rest of our drink orders and I asked her if she could please clear the dirty glasses and plates from the table (as we were pretty cramped as it was). She said she wouldthen never did. We waited for about another 10 minutes and by this time, the restaurant was pretty full. Several tables around us were complaining to their wait staff about the time it was taking to get their orders taken as well.
After we had been there for an hour and a half, with no dinner order taken, we paid for our drinks and appetizers and left. We ended up going to Outback Steakhouseand had phenomenal service that Riverhouse staff could have learned a thing or two from.
We were disappointed with this experience, as we were truly excited to try this restaurant! I'm sure the food is amazing, judging by the appetizers we had.
Unfortunately, we could not get past the service aspect that was so seriously lacking.
Very nice restaurant on the harbor. We were in the area for a wedding, but the night before the grooms family went out for dinner here. It was great food and the wait staff took very good care of our group.
I've been going to the River Reef since I before I moved to Florida. I always bring friends and family who visits me there.
I love having dinner outside on the water.
I have never ordered anything that wasn't delicious. The service is always good.
I would highly recommend this to anyone.
Would like to start out that our server was top notch. She was on top of her game all night. Other people in our party come here frequently and enjoy the food. My wife, daughter and I thought the food we ordered was decent, nothing that got our tastebuds in a frenzy. If you're looking for a restaurant with a great ambiance you'll get it here though.
Good food - great location!
The location here is excellent! You can easily see the sunset while dining, and the surrounding marina gives this place a really nice setting. The food is consistent, but not too exciting. One would assume that ordering your fish blackened with the Cajun remoulade would give some nice heat to the food, but alas, it does not. The food is pretty tasty, but the flavors don't really "pop." Happy hour drinks taste like there is no alcohol in them at all.
Overall, though, it's an enjoyable place to eat and is worth the trip.
