I loved this place. I had a 1/2 lbs. burger and it was excellent. Our server was super friendly.
Our server scarlet was great, but the nachos we're soggy and the four of us only had 2 chips with poorly cooked hamburger meat for almost $12! Not happy. Too expensive for fast food quality.
Came here for a beer on a Saturday night. The place was bumping and everyone was dancing to the Latin music. It was only $5.50 for a beer! Since I wanted something quieter, I took my beer outside to their tables on the River Walk. Didn't order any food, but if you're looking for a drink, look no further than the Republic of Texas.
THE GOOD: The food and the decor were awesome.
THE BAD: After we were seated, it took approximately 10 minutes for a server to come to our table to introduce themself & bring us water, and that was ONLY after my husband spoke with the hostess. We requested to be seated inside where it was cooler. The music was so loud, we couldn't carry on a conversation with the person across the table. We asked 3 times & called the restaurant (from our table) TWICE before the music was turned off. For the icing on the cake: our server was pathetic. We saw her (maybe) 3 times throughout the meal & she and several other wait staff had to be asked to bring us utensils or fresh food.
Maybe the service is better on the weekend.
Decent, but nothing out of the ordinary. Good tea and sweet tea, good service. Bland guac and salsa and brisket was good, but the bread was dry in the sandwich
Nice place but quality of food is comparable to taco bell. At least the food we have. Stay away from the lunch burrito, other food might be better.
Very enjoyable restaurant that's well priced. The food was hot and fresh and tasted great. The service was great and I hope that's not just because it was raining and not as many people out and about.
I've eaten here plenty of times over the years. Never had a bad experience.
On this visit, it was 10 pm on a Sunday night memorial day weekend Thunderstorms were rolling through, and the outside seating, while covered, doesn't fully cover the end of the tables towards the water side.
Family of 6, with 4 kids. Server was friendly and took order by memory. One quesadilla was forgotten and the chicken fried chicken was massivetoo much for one person. It came with white gravy even though we asked for no gravy. The combo fajitas were good but I had to ask for salsa. Was perhaps one tortilla short.
Total meal $70.50 plus tip.
Great location. Wonderful staff and great food. Went with my wife and we sat outside to enjoy the nice breeze. We were greeted by Al who is exceptionally nice and answered all our questions on the menu. We got our drinks quickly followed by our appetizer and entrees and never had a empty water or drink. The staff was always happy to help!
We come in on Saturday nights. We have had the pulled pork nachos and they were so good. The bartenders are fast. They have a big margarita called the colossal and you can keep the glass. They have a "dance floor" with lights for people to dance to. Usually older people inside but so fun to watch. Also one of the guys who cleans up is really nice. Usually have a sheriff outside to ID people.
If you wanna wait 20 min on a slow Sunday for service, this is the place. Hostess didn't even say hello so we walked passed them and then got sent back out to be seated just to be ignored by the hostess again! Sat and watched the wait staff of 5 people talk and play on their phones for a good 15 min. Looked like the only one working was our waitress Shelby, who was sweet and great but someone could have at least gave us water.
The restaurant Is a great place for lunch. If you only have a hour to kill. Great location near the Alamo, mall, river boats and the convention center as well. Are Waitress Valerie Was a great service to us with the drinks and food order. Will come back for lunch or dinner again
