Stayed overnight show attending a conference in Columbus. Everything about the hotel was just what you'd expect at a fine hotel. The room was lovely, the club amenities were excellent, and it's location- albeit not adjacent to the convention center- is very convenient and easily within waking distance in good weather conditions. I had a lovely stay here.
Went in to try and get a look at a suite for my wife's B-Day coming up. Was told that nothing was available to see and they only book rooms online. So if I come up in a tour bus and request 20 rooms you're going to turn me away and tell me to do it online!?!? Sweet move front desk guy. Guess the Asian guy wearing a hoodie wasn't good enough to spend $400 on his wife at your establishment. 🤤
Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Good food in the restaurant. Warning to those shy people, bathroom doesn't have an actual door. Has a barn door slide
Had a very pleasant stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room service was very prompt and efficient. Plus, the room I stayed in was beautiful! Everybody here just made me feel great. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely come here again. The only thing, I missed out on was that I didn't get to enjoy the pool since it was closed for the season but that is not their fault. Overall, I had a wonderful stay here!
While the staff were very pleasant, the overall experience was poor. We were awoken at 4:30 to our neighbors listening to music and had to be moved, as the security person could not wake them up to turn it off. I later asked at the front desk if there was anything that they could do for the inconvenience and was promised an email I never got. We tried the brunch and everything was very overcooked. Finally, the rooms were somewhat updated (beds, large TV, barn doors in bathroom) but still felt like something out of the early nineties in terms of lobby and bathroom decor. An unfortunate stay that didn't live up to the Renaissance name. I have stayed in Fairfields for much less with better decor, thicker walls, and better service.
For a hotel that is "supposed" to be top notch this place is a joke. We come in from out of state for a wedding with a reservation from 4 months ago and there's no room for us They suggested we get ready in the gym locker room. seriously? I got ready in the hallway with my pregnant wife. We were late because of this and had to call an Uber instead of taking the complimentary shuttle. They forgot to give us our wedding gift bag! They never called us back to tell us our room was ready! They also had the alarm set which woke us up at 6am. Way to ruin our night out without the kids! I will never stay at this overpriced hotel again.
Very nice hotel in the middle of downtown Columbus. Beds are very comfy and the rooms are generous in size. The bathrooms has no lockable door - it's just a sliding panel that sections off the room. If you have friends in your room it makes it quite uncomfortable. Also, the restaurant choices within walking distance are lacking as the area is heavily business driven, so not much is open past 4 or on weekends.
I had trouble with the room type being different than what was reserved. The staff made things right, but it was a hassle. The room was pretty and mostly clean, just dusty. The drinking glasses were dirty, though. I never trust them anyway! The bed was super comfy with great linens. The noise from traffic and the rooms next door was bothersome. The restaurant had great food, but service was slow. It was okay, but I think I'll try another hotel next time I come to town just to compare.
The Columbus Renaissance is in the Civic district of downtown Columbus. The location makes it very easy to get around the area and is in walking distance of various restaurants and shops. The rooms are very modern and free of issues. I can be picky with bedding but had comfortable nights during my stay. The fitness room is well maintained and the rooftop pool area was inviting. All of my interactions with the staff were positive and they were willing to accommodate any requests and answer any questions. Overall I would say this is one of the nicer hotels I've stayed with.
Attending a conference at the Renaissance was a good experience - the coffee and lunch served were both appreciated and better than the usual fare at these sorts of events. The decor was tasteful and the interior of the hotel was fairly easy to navigate.
From the moment my girlfriend and I arrived, we were treated like royalty. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The location of the hotel was good, but locating the entrance was a bit more difficult than anticipated. Google maps led us around the outside of the building rather than the entrance. If I had one complaint, it would be about the price of the valet service. It was $26 to park my car there foe one night. Overall, this experience was a very positive one.
The negatives: No free breakfast. Lack of plugs in the room. The positive: it's a really nice place in general. Very clean and well kept.
Beautiful hotel and conference center. Well maintained and clean. Very attentive staff. Great food in the hotel restaurant and multitude of options within walking distance. What more could you want?
Great centralized location in walking distance from great local foods and attractions. Loved the quick walk to the water and swings to watch the sunset behind the local courthouse. Prompt and friendly service at the hotel from all levels of associates. Truly enjoyed my first visit to Columbus, Ohio it won't be my last!
