The rooms are basic and so are the activities you can do here. In fact it's limited, but at the price you pay it evens out to be a fair place. The employees are nice and helpful as to be expected. The only problem is there is no gym!
I attempted to stay here 2yrs ago. Big Sign out side said ask about rooms $49.99, I made a reservation on line with a higher price. When I was checking in, I asked the MANAGER about the sign out side with lower price. She replied that needs to be taken down. She got rude w/me then wanted me to sign a piece of paper saying that I won't commit a crime. The CRAZIEST THING I HAVE EVER HEARD OF. THEN I WAS PUT ON A CAN'T RENT LIST. I am a business owner and have work in the area 3 times a year for three weeks. Wyndam just around the corner is much better. Terrible manager here.
Nice, quaint place, larger than most red roof inns I have been to though. Very respectful, and near enough to major roadways to go most anywhere in Jax without having road noise. I am thoroughly enjoying my stay.
Worst place I've been. Maria, the inspector of the rooms should be fired . She is extremely rude and unprofessional. She argued with me and felt the need to give me a life lesson when I called in to ask for my belongings that had been left by accident. She was screaming and arguing with me over the phone and wasn't helpful at all . With people like her working there I would never recommend staying here . Rooms are dirty . A tick was in my sink bath tubs are stained. But house keeping does the best they can and makes a trashy hotel seem tolerable. The guy from Fiji is nice and so is the lady from Dallas . But Maria should not be in hospitality. Period! She definitely should be written up for the way she spoke to me honestly I feel she keeps anything she finds. Most of them are very disgusting people. I really hope corporate shuts this place down. There have been multiple reviews and complaints about the bug problem. It's really bad . Do not stay here!
Red roof is our preferred hotel when traveling with our pet. Even if a hotel claims to be pet friendly, they usually charge an extra fee (sometimes up to twice as much as the room rate!) Red roof is free for pets. We visited this location but ended up staying at the Atlantic Beach location because we arrived too early and couldn't check in until a couple hours later. Probably should've stayed here anyway since it was much cheaper than the Atlantic Beach spot (which was kind of gross).
This hotel is not fit for a dog!! Sadly this hotel is infested with some type of insect and the staff knows. Rachel so kindly called the police on us for being rude and disruptive but had no manager on duty to speak with. All because of being bitten by something in their rooms. Yes we were offered to change room a bit when Rachel informed us that they were 4 other instances of bed bugs would you have slept there? The best pet isn't having the police called because she said I was in her face, I hope they look at the cameras because there is a desk that separated us. Not only did the cops laugh they said they are here all the time for customers not being happy. After being kicked out we found another hotel and thank God for Baymont!!! Cheap and clean no bugs at all! I am glad I am not allowed to stay in this property again as stated from an email received from the general manager who was on vacation and sadly Rachel should've said that instead of calling her the 2 times directly while we were speaking. Poor customer service especially working with a company that I spend a lot of my time in a hotel room. I really appreciate the cleaning lady on the second floor who will remain anonymous THANK YOU FOR BEING GREAT!! Enjoy the photos.
