It was good but last week I went with my daughter for a school field trip, she is in pre-k and I think I needs kind of reinforcement they put her in a small class and the guide keep saying she had another group coming in half hour like she was trying to rush everything ! She got two animals to show in the class but I think it could be better ! The zoo it's nice and clean!

Excellent short-outing visit. The place is gorgeous and unlike the Bronx Zoo, the exhibits are compact and easy to walk between. That means a pleasant 2-hour visit, and your kids won't be dog-tired a third of the way into the visit. Recommended! WARNING: it's a long walk from the #7, and the parking situation is atrocious. Rather than fight for the free parking, suck it up and pay $10 to park in the New York Hall of Science parking.

It is not as big as the Bronx Zoo, but it is right near where my brother lives, and it is simply great for kids. A lot of people on the weekends at the park, and it is fun to watch. Hidden gem.

Best kept secret in Queens. In about two hours you can get through the OP and the farm. Feeding the animals here is MUCH cheaper than in The Bronx Zoo, or Central Park. Get there for the 11:15 sea lion feeding if possible, it's the least crowded. The aviary is one of a kind - you can get a close view of the macaws in the nice weather.
There is usually plenty of parking.. if the lot is full, try parking in the museum lot and strolling thruogh the park (it's a short walk past the theater).

Great for families! Or dates outdoors, animals are well-treated, and the staff is friendly. We have developed an Easter tradition! Easter bunny, feeding animals, and strolling through the zoo at our own pace. Open 365 days a year.
