2 months in service to have 2 recalls done to my pioneer. Poor ability to call back with updates. I finally get my pioneer back and today I look over the work and there are metal. Shavings all. Under. Yes seat over top of the engine and missing plastic push connectors. What a damn joke no quality control and very poor care for cleanup after a job. I'll never go. Back
I have purchased several motorcycles from Purcells. The staff is quite knowledgeable about what they're selling. Weather you are in the market for something new or used they have both here. Motorcycles, jet skis, ATVs and boats. They also have a service shop to service every one of them.
What a joke. How this company stays in business is beyond me. I stopped in the other day needinga couple of simple screws, thinking someone might be willing to go to the back to check if they might have a couple laying around. We got the parts counter told me all he could do would be to special order the screws and it would take one to two weeks for the screws to arrive. The parts guy was a complete ass. I will never, EVER Walk through the front doors of this business again and I will tell everyone I know not to waste their time going to Purcell's.
I've been to Purcells for 3 tire changes and one mysterious grinding noise somewhere when the motor was cranked cold.
I've gotten a fair price on the tires and quick service.
They treated the noise (about 2-3 years ago) and never came back.
However, on the second tire chance they lost a grommet that protects my bags against abrasion with the chassis which I discovered months after when I was cleaning the bike. I purchased it myself.
On this occasion, they torque the bolts from the plastic bags to the chassis a little too hard (I checked the service manual for the proper torque). Thankfully, the bags didn't receive any damage.
To their credit, over the years I've been purchasing tires/services there they have never hit me with mail/offers/marketing, unlike the other guys in town.
Called before I made an hour trip to see if a specific UTV was still available. I was told it was available and it had been serviced with brand new tires installed. He said he would pull it out so it would be ready for me. I arrived a little over an hour after my conversation with Zach. Zach greets me and apologized saying his manager wouldn't let him sell the UTV because it wasn't operating correctly and they were sending it to the auction. I told him that a simple call back would have been nice to tell me this rather than me wasting half my day. He apologized saying they were busy but they did have other UTVs available that were starting out $5000 more than what I came to purchase. Needless to say, there really isn't anything positive I can say about my experience.
Fast and friendly. Very helpful staff.
Called from Central FL asking what an out the door rate was on a new 2018 Grom, some young guy picked up the phone and acted as if he didn't even want to be there and told me he won't give me a number, not store policy. I told him I had 8 dealers email or call me with their lowest out the door rate on a brand new Honda Grom. Oh well, their loss as I ended up buying one over in Winter Haven, FL at McKibben Powersport Honda. I tried to give them a chance as my mother still lives on the Westside but they didn't care to deal. This is the 21st century, everyone shops around!
This place has really improved just in the last month! I liked it before but I LOVE it now! They were recently bought by new owners and big changes are happening, prices are dropping and sales people are excited to see you when you walk in the door, I love the atmosphere there now :)
First off, I am a discriminating scorer. So a 5 is near perfection and I have rarely given that score. I went in looking for Jon Migitz, the manager, whom I met at the Jax Boat Show. I was with my wife, who tends to be the person looking for the best deal. We already knew what we wanted. Jon was happy to provide us the service we were looking for. The boats are stored outside, so I would not mark the store down for not having clean boats. They are always washed off and detailed after sale. There was no haggling over price and BJ, the finance man, was easy going. I do wish car purchases were this quick and easy. Jon would not let me take it home that day because he won't let a boat go looking dirty and not prepped just to make a sale. I picked it up the following day and was given a tour of my new boat by Bubba, the Product Specialist. Yamaha sell themselves, so the dealer could be cocky if they wanted to. Not here. Everyone was humble and real. I was not pressured at any time. If there is any critique I would make, it is more attention to detail before the boat is released. There were a few points on the boat that were wrong after getting home, but nothing worth sweating over. I would recommend Purcell's for your future Yamaha boat purchases. Ask for Jon and he'll take care of you or he'll make sure that his squared-away employees do. I have not had any service done yet but when I do, I'll be sure to make a review of that. Thank you Purcell's!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT!
I pretty rarely write reviews like this but I hope I can save some innocent people major headaches and $$$ by avoiding this place.
I brought my Yamaha Jet boat in for the 100 hour service since this is the Official Yamaha Dealer in the area I expected the pricing to be slightly higher then an independent shop but that they would be well versed in what to do with my boat. I could not have been more wrong, the guy I talked to on the phone was pleasant and seemed to understand what was involved in the 100 hour service per the owners manual from Yamaha so we made an appointment.
When I dropped off the boat is when I started to get worried, the guy I talked to on the phone wasn't there and the "Service Writer" did not seem to understand what a 100 hour service was so I asked if anyone there did and he directed me to his manager who seemed to under stand what I wanted. (The 100 hour service is very basic things like spark plugs, fuel filters, oil change etc which there is a detailed checklist in the manual). 2 days later they called me and said my batteries were completely bad and they could do nothing until I replaced them which I thought was odd considering they had fired up strong the day before bringing it in so I asked if they were sure? he said oh yes your guages won't even light up it's so dead. At this point I was getting very worried about their competence so I said just give me a written quote for what you think needs to be done before doing any work. They ended up writing my up a quote for $3100.00 to replace my steering cable, shift cable, and throttle cables and batteries so I decided to pick it up and get a 2nd opinion, When I was picking it up the service writer was showing me other service invoices for $7000.00-$8,000.00 for similar boats to mine as a way to try to prove that my quote for $3000.00 was not so bad! It just made me feel sorry or those people who were getting ripped.
The first thing I did when I picked it up was look at the battery and the reason it wouldn't start? Because it wasn't in neutral!!!!! and they would have charged me $300.00 because their tech didn't know the boat won't start while in gear!!!!
Bottom line their service dept who served me that day is completely incompetent when it comes to Yamaha Boats for sure.
I constantly use Purcells for all my oem parts needs. I make a order or 5 a week from them. Always helpful . Coming from a smaller shop owner they always treat me right. If something falls through the cracks which never really happens they get it fixed and done. Awesome guys. A1 sales and parts . Never had to use the service department. But if it is like the parts and sales. I am sure they are A plus as well. Thanks guys .
WORST SERVICE!!!!! I don't usually overreact about oopsies, but I had them mount and balance a new rear tire that I bought from them. The next day the tire was flat- they had forgotten to tighten the valve stem core. I had started to ride and noticed something was off. I took it back to them and had them inspect the tire for damage. They removed the tire and inspected it and reinstalled it. I brought it to work and my co-worker remarked that the chain looked too tight. When I checked it , it was very tight with very little deflection unloaded, but I thought "Surely, Purcell's set it correctly" Went on a couple of rides after the tire was fixed and parked it for the cold spell, went to ride this last weekend and MY CHAIN CAME OFF AT 50mph!!!!! This chain had had a year of riding on it prior to the tire install. I talked to the service advisor at Purcell's and his answer? "I don't know what you want me to do about it"
SORRY, PISS POOR, AND DANGEROUS!!!!! You might as well do your own work, that way if you get hurt you won't have paid for sloppy and incompetent work.
