Very courteous and attentive. Was given honest opinions when asked. Quality of work above reproach. Will I go back? Yes, I will. Will I recommend to others? Yes, I will.

Nope Nope.
Edit:
Thank you for your reply. I've updated your review from a 1 to a 3 because you took the time to contact me. Your employee was the reason for the review (you were not in yet). We wandered the property for about 20 minutes before he even noticed we were there. And, even then, he made no effort to approach us and see who we were. I had to walk into the back of your shop (where he was working) and explain to him that we had an appointment 15 minutes ago. He then said that you were not in yet, and that we had to wait an hour or more even though we got there first thing that morning.
This is an excellent and trustworthy place. John will tell it to you straight and will work with you. Only place to get your car fixed in Columbia county. Always looks out for your safety
My experience is I helped him when nobody else would when he got evicted from his last shop - and didnt even know him and now can't even get him to reply or respond to any of my calls or messages when I've needed work done. Even offered to pay him more than he said he'd charge me if I ever needed any mechanic work. Now I understand why nobody else would offer him help - he's the most ungrateful and unappreciative person I've ever met - and as far as I know he's not even licensed or insured.
My wife and I were in town looking at a van to buy on a Friday afternoon. I called John hoping they'd be able to give it a once-over and their opinion of how it runs, and he told me I could bring it by ASAP, no charge. He looked it over and found that something in the A/C was shorting out and blowing fuses, and also warned me that the timing belt looked like it hadn't been changed (on a 127k-mile vehicle).
I told this to the owner and passed on the van. Turns out, they took it to their own mechanic, who confirmed both of these issues and recommended a timing-belt replacement ASAP and that the AC unit had a bad relay.
I don't live in Lake City, but if I did, you better believe I'd take my cars to Powers!
These guys are amazing! The tire rod broke on my Mom's truck while i was backing out from a store. These guys came down to the store where I broke down, assessed the damage, called their tow service and took the vehicle to their shop. They assured me it could be fixed quickly and they did just that. Not only did they repair the vehicle, they checked all the fluids and rotated the tires. The staff was very nice and answered any questions without eye rolling because I am a woman! They are very professional and concerned about their customers. They do everything and it won't cost an arm and a leg!
My 2012 Chevy Cruise had a idling issue. So i took it to John and in less than a day he had my car up and running again like new. He also did a oil change that was way over due and the best part is that John is a straight shooter and it didn't cost me a arm and a leg to get it fix. From now on if I ever have a issue with my car I know John can get it done.
