Actually knows how to treat their animals and keep them alive way better than petco or walmart. Keep up the great work

One star rating and one less customer for Petland, after unfriendly and unprofessional encounter regarding the return of a defective aquarium. I was promised store credit one day, while the manager was absent. They quickly withdrew the offer of getting store credit via a phone message, saying they would NOT refund my return. Unfortunately won't be supporting this local business any longer.

Although there is great customer service, some of the animals there aren't getting the proper care they need. I had found an underweight gecko at the store. They did inform me that it wasn't eating but the sand that they used as substance might be the reason why since it can causes impaction

My and my mother visited there on June 20th 2017 to look at some toys and chews for my dog. I saw this adorable puppy named Rocket and asked to meet him. The employee was straight out rude. The employee there just brought the dog over to the socialization area with a toy. He was being rough with the puppy and just carelessly held as if it wasn't a living, breathing creature. The 13 week old puppy started nibbling on my mother's shoe and even though the employee saw what was happening he did nothing about it. I understand that puppies nibbling things are normal but it actually looked like the employee was laughing. We left to look at the dog chews because we were kind of mad about what had happened. Another employee on duty, this female, greeted these customers that walked through the door. The also asked to meet Rocket and the female employee brought Rocket, a blanket, a toy, and treats into the socialization area and sat with the two ladies inside. I am really disappointed at the one employee that we were being assisted by and I wish to never meet that employee ever again.

Really disappointed the dogs are socially isolated with solid partitions dividing them. The employee I spoke to was uneducated in animal behavior and described them as aggressively fighting. 8 week old puppies can play very rough and to someone uneducated it can look like fighting. You're not going to see true aggression at this age. This is how they learn social skills and it's important for their development. Young puppies would naturally have a mother to intervene if play behavior escalates. So at a minimum the puppies should have opportunities for supervised social play time while an employee monitors them. Efforts should be made to try different combinations and individuals who get along well. If you purchase a puppy here just know it will be poorly socialized and may have behavioral issues. It's unfortunate that pet stores aren't better regulated by welfare laws. Social housing is so essential for animal welfare that even research labs are required to do this.

Great people who treat the animals like they should be, and most of the prices are cheaper than chain stores. I like that its a smaller sort of mom and pop shop

all the puppies are poorly taken care of. they all come from puppy mills too so they're inbred and will have lots of health issues. close this disgraceful store
