I work at a vet hospital and will be anon. First of all, NEVER buy an animal from here. There are so many puppies that end up in hospital from this place because they are all sick. I've seen everything from Parvo, Kennel cough, hyperglycemia, sever dehydration, pneumonia, ect. Every year, especially around Christmas when customers buy their sweet little puppies, quite a lot end up needing to stay in a vet hospital. Look if you are really dead set on getting a pure breed dog, look for reputable breeders and not some pet shop. I'm so over seeing all these sick puppies from this place, how this is even legal is beyond me.
SO SAD FOR ALL THE POOR ANIMALS WHO HAVE TO BE THERE. This place is clearly only worried about making money, not animals' well being. First off, I bought my daughter a pair of gerbils, who came from a barren excuse of a habitat. I was reassured that both gerbils were male. I am not interested in having any litters. After going home with our 2 "male" gerbils, I did not think we had 2 males. Looked like one male and one female. The next day I drove 20 mins back to this dumpwaste of timeI asked them to please check that I did actually have 2 males. They reassured me once again that I did in fact have 2 males, and also, the person did add that if I did wind up with a litter, I could give the babies to themha ha. I don't think so. Anyway, I now have 14 gerbils instead of 2, split up between 5 habitats, because the geniuses at Pet Kingdom indeed sold us a male and a female!!! Wow. Amazing. I have checked on the store since then a few times and had to mention to various employees that certain animals needed water, or that the water bottle was so carelessly placed that an animal could not reach it. Also, they keep those poor hamsters and guinea pigs tortured with their ultra low enclosures, which, btw, are completely open so they constantly have small children and whom ever manhandling them from open til close. The store is filthy and overloaded with animals. I e-mailed the owner about this and was told that some changes would be considered, but nothing yet. That was a long time ago. I really hope this store goes out of business.
Those pups need more room to run around that young! Some looked a little unhealthy to me. I feel bad for them. They do have a decent selection though.
I wouldn't even give it 1 star if I could. Most terrible experience ever. Got a black lab from here WORST MISTAKE EVER!!!! Dog has had diarrhea ever since we got her. Went to 3 different vets. They can't find anything wrong and she still continues to have it. I have tried everything and after months of paying for vet visits and after spending a lot of money from them I called and they say there is nothing they can do! Would never suggest anyone to go here or buy a pet from them. I've learned this the hard way but ADOPT DONT SHOP! NEVER GO HERE. ALL THERE DOGS ARE VERY SICK
Why is this place still open? We happened to be walking by and my 8 year old wanted to go in. I'm not a big fan of pet stores but will give any given one a chance. I left in tears. The puppies for sale were filthy dirty with feces stuck to their butt and nappy fur. I went to the bunnies close to the front door and one was breathing so heavy she looked extremely ill. Another one in the same cage was clearly in shock, not focused with empty eyes. I'll be traumatized by this visit for weeks. Animals do not deserve to be treated like this! Oh, and when we were walking out as they were closing at 6pm, I saw the Owner literally counting his money like some sort of scumbag pirate! Go to the shelter people, and stay far away from these types of places!
Came in to look for a golden puppy, as I've been having a hard time finding one in the area. The poor things couldn't even play or sniff me. Did not display normal healthy puppy-like behavior. I asked about them and was immediately told the price and that they had papers. No one could give me a breeder's name or information. Those poor animals. I watched a German Sheppard puppy stand up and fall immediately because she couldn't support her own weight.

My son loves this place. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.
I loved the dogs. So much. I loved the hamsters. So much. I loved the birds. So much. And I even loved the 17 year old snake that would probably kill me in a heart beat but I still love him. So much. They were so cute. The staff was also, so cute. As for the fish. They were fish & that's cool. The ghost shrimp were nice. I think. I couldn't really see them. Anyways, I love pet kingdom, & the groundhog which wasn't even in the ground and I don't know why. Now he'll never see his shadow unless you shine a light on him but then he'll probably hide because he'll think he's at the vet. Thank you pet kingdom for all of my new bffs and the fish. I love the fish.
I bought a miniature schnauzer here on April 10th. He had kennel cough, which I'm sure all the other puppies also had as it's very contagious. Complications with it turned into pneumonia. I hospitalized him & he was on 5 different medications, vet visits twice a week. HE DIED LAST NIGHT. There's no reason my 5 year old daughter should have had her best friend ripped away from her. She witnessed the whole event. I called about a month ago to speak to a manager and was yelled at for asking what they might do to help my situation since they sold me a sick puppy. I was even further screamed at when I threatened to call the owner on her personal cell phone.
DO NOT BUY PUPPIES HERE. I spent everything I had trying to save my little guy's life and it still didn't work. This was NOT something he got after coming home with me, it takes time to develop and was for sure a pre-existing condition from the time of purchase, but don't worry "it'll clear up on its own" just in time for their two week health warranty to run out.
We board our bird and the cages are clean and the people that take care of him know what they are doing! We have done this several times and each time he is well attended.
I entered this store just to buy a bowl for by bird. The chlorine smell was so overpowering I could hardly breath. The entire place is dark and the ventilation has to be very poor. I walked around just to say hi to the birds and a saw an exotic bird in a screened in box in the back that looked so unhealthy and unhappy. The sadness coming from that creature broke my heart. I cried in my car for several minutes after leaving. I would never support this store. Animals need fresh air and companionship just like people. I believe the mighty dollar is the focus here.
