I'm one of those people who reads reviews and never really posts any reviews. However, after reading the negative reviews (along with all the good ones) I have to do this place some justice.
This place was amazing!! We stayed for 2 days and I honestly do not have a bad thing to say about it and plan on staying we next year when we are back in Indy. Previous reviews complained about the staff, no hot water, being to loud, a rickety elevator, and it being to bright; but we did not experience any of those.
The two front office ladies I talked to were great and willing to answer any question I had and very helpful when I needed them, hot water was instant, and we never heard another person. The elevator is fine. It gets you from floor to floor perfectly. Never had an issue. And the people complaining about it being too bright are the same people that would complain about ice water being too cold.close the blinds.
Our room was actually more of a small apartment. All we were missing was a dining room table. We had two bed rooms, a good size living room with couch and two chairs, and a FULL KITCHEN including full size fridge, full stove/oven, and all necessary plates, bowls, glasses, and silverware.
Some of the rooms in this building are actually apartments that are rented, however, every tenant we talked to was great and more then willing to give us tips and tricks as to where to go and how to get around.
All in allI will stay here again. I think the value is great and the location was close to everything.
The hotel is clean and comfortable. It is an old building that needs updating hence the 4 star. I liked having the kitchen for mornings. It is not a place that you want to hang out at. If you need a comfortable clean place to sleep this place will do. The staff were friendly and helpful.
We really liked this hotel. We rented a room with double beds and basically, it's an apartment with two bedrooms. Full living room, full kitchen with plates/utensils/pans. Don't believe the negative reviews, the rooms are clean, comfortable, the front desk lady was nice, and the elevators are fine. Yes, the rooms are dated somewhat, yes they show their age, but this hotel isn't billing itself as the Ritz. So feel comfortable renting a room here and just enjoy it for what it is :)
Serviceable for the price. Everything was a little dingy and old, no phone in the room, could smell my neighbors smoking through bathroom vents. That being said the towels and bed were clean and the 1 bed suite was a decent size.
Affordable, spacious and comfortable, but seemed a little shabby. The carpets needed a good cleaning but it wasn't so bad that I felt uncomfortable staying there. There's also nothing nearby, including no easily accessible shops or restaurants, and even though that's not their fault it does detract from the experience. Our room had a full kitchen but there wasn't a full compliment of dishes and pans to go along with it. It was quiet however, and easy enough to get an Uber wherever we wanted to go. Overall I wouldn't be excited to recommend it, but I would stay there again depending on circumstances.
I have rented this place for some of my guests coming from outside the town. The price was really good, the location is close to downtown which what we needed. The rooms were clean as I have been told. However, the reception was nothing but below average. No coffee service in the lobby or anywhere around, the lady works there were careless and did not even bother to make any effort for an early check in. I guess you get what you pay for overall.
Our room was almost like a one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen (stocked with plates, cups, pots, pans, and utensils), a desk, a 3 chair dining table, two TVs (one in the bedroom and one in the living room), a decent bathroom with a shower, and you get temperature control. Has a big free parking lot, about a 3 minute drive for food, and very quiet area. I'd recommend having a car since theres not much public transportation nearby. Very good for the price.
Before I start- If I could give this place negative stars- I would. I would highly recommend anyone who is considering staying here to look for somewhere else. Seriously. I have had the displeasure of staying here for the 2017-2018 school year, and my experience has been nothing but terrible and embarrassing.
Here are the things that have either gone wrong in my apartment/hotel throughout the year-
1. I saw mice in my room
2. My toilet broke 3-4 times and flooded
3. My sink broke and flooded
4. My wi-fi always went out and most of the time I couldn't even connect-even in their main lobby
5. One of the two elevators they have was down for 4 months out of my stay
6. When their 'pool' was opened during the fall months, the color of the water was swamp green(seriously not kidding)
7. everything is old and falling apart in the room
8. there have been break-ins with the cars in the parking lot during my stay
9. When the elevators are working, half the time they smell like throw-up or weed
Just to name a few.
So, save your money and look somewhere else.
I was told over the phone that it was going to be $57 a night so I drove the 3 hours to my hotel. When I checked in she then tells me it will be $69.99 will that be cash or card. I responded woo wait a minute I just talked to you 3 hours ago and you told me it would be $57 a night she said no I didn't. I told her she was on speaker phone and that I have my witness with me in the waiting area. She then reponded well if you don't want to pay the $69.99 you can always cancel your reservation.
This place is not worth staying in. Everything is aging and old, and the place just feels unclean. Not only that, but the internet is horrendous. Oftentimes, it takes a good 10-15 minutes of trying out internet connections to even be able to load Google. Even at its peak, things like YouTube barely run, and often lag to the point of pointlessness. The elevators are extremely slow and one of them has been broken for several months now. There's also a roughly 50% chance for the hallways or elevator to smell like weed or some other strange smell. As a student at IUPUI, the buses to and from campus only run every 20 minutes, and even that is inconsistent at night or on weekends. I would actively recommend living in a place that is not here.
