I had to find a place last minute from out of state. I was having no luck with other companies and was becoming very stressed since I was in such a short time crunch. I was initially hesitant to use Newwave as some of the Internet reviews are mixed, but I really had a great experience with them. Jason was incredible helpful and friendly. He got the job done, found me the perfect place, and I had the keys in hand in two days!! Jason worked very hard on his end to make the process easy and seemless for me. Thanks so much Jason!

New Wave and I both unwittingly found ourselves dealing with a landlord (summer of '16) who changed things around at the last minute, resulting in the loss of one month's rent. I felt enraged. A lawyer was contacted to see what action could be taken against the landlord. New Wave ownership soon was involved and decided to eat the loss. This of course rewarded the behavior of the landlord but certainly won New Wave huge points with us. The New Wave staff (Mary) and owners communicated promptly and clearly throughout our search for an apartment. And they sure played the part of peacemaker quite well when the unforeseen mess developed. Well done, New Wave. Our lease ended 8/31/17 but I am confident that this company will be around for a long time doing excellent business.

One of the worst experience ever. I wouldn't recommend these people to anyone. Our realter lied to us about the apartment. She lied about the utilities being included as well as lying to us about a door in the room being a closet when in reality it was a door into our neighbors apartment. These people suck they returned our money ( realtor fee,last month rent, first month rent ) because they assumed we were going to sue them thank God for that.

We worked with Hakeem, despite the negative reviews, we still went with what he showed us since he seems genuine and eager to help. From what other people are saying, it sounds like the company is shady but as we visited the office that day to sign the lease, we were surprised to see a very clean and professional (nicely decorated as well) office located on Newbury Street. In terms of housing, we were able to find an excellent, conveniently located, privately-owned apartment within the period of 1 week before Sept 1. Previously, we were visiting another unit that we really like but due to the roomate arrangement the landlord declined. However, Hakeem helped us to find an even better replacement and got our application in time for the apartment we are now staying. He was very flexible, quick on his feet and straight forward in communication. Highly recommend.

Ken from New Wave likes to talk and promise a lot and delivers absolutely zero. Wasted almost 2 weeks of our time looking for a place with this guy. Don't waste yours. Find a real agent. These guys are lazy blood-suckers who are looking for a quick and easy buck, and have zero interest in actually finding you the right place and earning your dollar.
Ken, in particular, was difficult to get a hold of, didn't return messages timely at all (would text, and then, when I'd text right back, wouldn't respond for >24h). He helped us find a place, which then changed the move-in date, and then raised the price by $400/month.

I recently rented a house in Boston and new wave rental helped me with it. I actually signed the lease without me physically seeing the house as I was in Europe so the broker showed me around via facetime. Although their service was reasonably good and they have good housing options, I did not think they really helped me through out. As a broker and for the hefty charge that you will have to pay, I think they should help their clients with formalities until the end. In my case, I felt like they stopped serving me as soon as they receive the broker's fees. They really push you very hard to get into an agreement in a day or too, so please look around well before you yield to their pressure of signing a lease quickly. They will also respond to your request promptly but as soon as they have their fees, they will stop that.
The rental business in Boston is very competitive & steep and I have no reason to believe that New wave should take their client for granted.
So when you are working with this company make sure you take care of two important points:
1. Make sure you DO NOT YEILD to their pressure. They will make you feel that all the good houses will run out in a day or two. Its not true. Getting a reasonable house in Boston is relatively easy if you are willing to shed ~2000 USD.
2. Before you pay the broker fees make sure you have everything in place to move including all formalities to get the keys from housing management companies.
Some good points include:
1. The broker was polite and patient when he showed me around.
2. He was prompt in responding to my requests atleast until they received the brokers fees.

Great and Professional Realtors!!
They have a lot of bad reviews, and I usually steer clear when I see bad reviews, but I have worked with this company twice. The market in Boston requires acting fast and them pressuring people to put in an application is for their own good if they want a place to live. They reimbursed me for an application fee before and drove my roommates and I back to our place after showings. arranged viewing for Shant to show clients apt we were renting. Having confirmed the night before Shant didn't show up and didn't send email or call to cancel. Not the way to conduct business. Huge waste of my time, clearly unprofessional.

Me and my girlfriend moved to Boston 1 week ago and got great help from Joel and Mary. The atmosphere at the firm is quite relaxed with many young people working, nevertheless after seeing many realtors I can guarantee that these two brokers made me feel most secure. Sure, they have a bit higher application fee, however, you only pay it once and it is very little in relation to your overall expenses. They were both great communicators who took their time to show all listings available, they were both very informative and very responsive and had in general a good, positive and understanding attitude. I highly recommend both Joel and Mary if you want realtors that know what great customer service is all about.
