I have to say, David from the maintenance team really is a very personal people. He doesn't just come to fix your needs, he went above and beyond to listen with the sheer goal of making your living experience at a community really like a home. My rental experience with Avalon has been amazing since moved in. Michael and Jenna from the rent office also are exemplary professionals who excels in what they do! Big applaud!
I am so impressed with living at Avalon at Lexington Hills. The management and staff are exceptionally customer-focused. They make it easy to request any repairs or assistance, have prompt responses, and are also proactive about keeping up with maintenance within our apartments as well as around the grounds. I had a request for closet shelving work, and David and Joe responded within a couple hours, were knowledgeable, professional, and a joy to work with. Another time when they came to do a repair, I asked them to check my disposal which didn't sound right. He saw that it wasn't working correctly, and went right away to get a replacement.
Rob, the Community Manager, has been so responsive to any questions or suggestions, and he and his staff work hard to create a sense of community, offering enjoyable gatherings for all ages (bar b q’s, holiday activities, dog activities, other events) as well as keeping us all informed about other topics of interest. I am grateful to feel part of this welcoming and safe community.
I moved in early Oct of 2017 and so far I am loving this apartment complex. The leasing office is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, they answer any and all of your questions in a timely manner. The apartment complex itself is extremely nice and up-kept and everyone I have ran in to at the apartment has said the same thing. I would definitely recommend this apartment to others. :) Thank you!
We've just moved to Avalon at Lexington hills and had an outstanding experience of getting on-board to the Avalon community. A BIG THANKS to Jenna Fitzpatrick for taking such good care of our requirements and finding us a good apartment. We were able to select the apartment and finalise the paperwork before even we moved to Boston. As were away Jenna's extended help with providing pictures as needed and prompt replies to our concerns made it very easy to get this done seamlessly. Thanks to Micheal too for assisting us out on our moving day. Also much appreciate the prompt replies and help on our questions in following days. Kudos to the team, keep up the good work!
To mention about the community; this is a nice and quiet community with good facilities to offer. The free community shuttle to Alewife and lexpress city bus (ticketed) service is good to get in and out of the community on weekdays. Weekends might be a bit difficult if you don't have a car. The community is clean with ample parking spaces and good paths in and trails around to walk, jog, bike etc. As told there are multiple community events for the residents that sounded fun like BBQ party (which we missed this time), halloween party (which we are looking forward) to etc. are nice perks.
A few suggestions/observations:
1. Apartments at the corner of the 'L' structure bldg. do compromise on the resident's privacy as the windows peep into each other. However the management do acknowledge and apologise for this drawback (which we felt was a nice gesture) but not their fault and there is nothing they can do about it.
2. The storage space monthly rent is a bit higher, should be considered to lower if possible. We haven't used it as of now but would have considered if was the later.
3. The package delivery service at the bldg. needs to be well organised which is worked upon as the mgmt advises. We see packages sitting all around the entry area. You literally have to dig into to find your packages. This is mainly for amazon deliveries however if you mention 'drop at the door' note on your amazon order delivery - problem solved most of the times.
4. Apt# boards around the community s/b installed. Our poor uber driver had to loiter around the whole community to find us as we just missed pass her.
Rest all looks good so far. Looking for a long and pleasant stay here!!
Thanks!
I have lived here for a year almost, and I have been very happy. Everyone who works here has been great; they are always friendly and helpful! The complex is very well maintained, and there has been a lot of renovation work since I have moved in. The community is also very dog friendly, and everyone seems to be quite responsible for cleaning up after their pets. :)
Update August 2017: So my dog and I are still here, and we are still very happy with the community. The people who work at the office often transfer to other locations, and it is sad to see them go. However, everyone new who had come has also been fantasic, and it has been wonderful to meet them and interact with them. The maintenance team has continued to be very responsive and helpful as well.
Absolutely love living in this complex! We had our summer BBQ yesterday with drinks, hotdogs/hamburgers, finger sandwiches, pasta salad, music, and an ice cream truck! There are so many great amenities here and the management staff is highly attentive to all tenants. The service department is also great, I've never gone one whole day without an issue fixed, it's always resolved right away and the maintenance team is extremely friendly. Would recommend this apartment complex to couples, families, and even single individuals. There is always something great going on - today they have a blood drive!
The only CON to living here has been the lease renewal process, as the rent can substantially increase (upwards of 9%) which is scary. We're hopeful that we can stay living here for the next few years and won't be pushed out due to rent increasing astronomically.
The staff is AMAZING!! It's rare to find a place where they care about the residents but Avalon definitely does!!
We have lived here for four years in a three bedroom apartment and the service and maintenance have been unbelievable!!! They recently installed hardwood floors in our apartment in 2 days. All the people in the office, Michael, Aubrey, are fantastic.
We have enjoyed living here due to the amenities, great lawn, Lexington school district but the inconsistent rate increases for rent has really made me reconsider if I would recommend a friend or family member rent from Avalon in the future.
Management now is worse than ever! Instead of resolving the tenants issues they prefer to argue and yell on you over the phone (that's what happened today with me before writing this review). Here is very poor sound insulation between the walls and when you have a neighbor who has party nonstop it would be hell leaving here. And management will do nothing! Even if you call police and make a noise complaint. This place is absolutely not family oriented now nor quiet any more. It's going to be my 3d month in a row when I live like in a night club with my 9 yo daughter because we have some party -people downstairs no matter it's day or night. All pleasure for 3k per month :) I think it's time to file a court complaint to bring this problem up and let them to resolve it properly!
Ps. I've been living here for 5 years and never seen such an ignorance and useless(!) from the management as now. Not sure when the management has been replaced but it's not what we have last 4 years. I'm very disappointed and I'm willing to move out.
The maintenance is very good, they are very quick and able to solve hard problems efficiently. Once they fix something, they never have to come back for the same object since they fix it so well. Highly recommend Josh Sievers.
This five-star review is for the current leasing team, in particular Michael, Aubrey and Aidan. Interaction with any of them is always friendly and professional; they are attentive to concerns, and they make residents a top priority. Also must acknowledge the Avalon @ Lexington Hills maintenance team who are responsive to service requests in a timely and professional manner.
