My company's holiday party was here an I must say I was very underwhelmed. The decor was very nice. The overall experience for the event, however, was very flat. The food was average tasting at best and all of it was cold. The specially drinks were very good, though. The wait staff all seemed miserable and were less than attentive. The lone bright spot, outside of the drinks, was the dealer we had at our black jack table for the Monte Carlo night.

The location is convenient for the downtown area. The lobby was plush and felt really special. Our room was spacious and clean. We had breakfast at the hotel and my husband really enjoyed the buffet. I was jealous not to get it! We would definitely recommend.

We spent a night here to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. The place was BEAUTIFUL! It was within walking distance if so many places of interest (we did walk quite a bit to save on parking). Upon registration, they asked if we were there for any special occasion. When we came back to our room for the evening, there was a beautiful dessert waiting for us!! The staff was so friendly and helpful! Thank you to the staff for an amazing stay! You made it well worth our while! By the way, the people of Pittsburgh are pretty friendly!

The conference rooms were divided on disparate floors and the lobby, while stunningly beautiful, was a bit unintuitive to navigate. The halls are nicely arranged in an E pattern for shorter corridor spacing but signage could be more pronounced for easier recognition. Since it's an old building, power outlets on the light fixtures would a great improvement. The overall lighting was pleasant and welcoming, not harsh like many hotels can be.
I had to amend this post after having an incredibly terrible experience with the front desk and accounting staff after I had been incorrectly billed by the hotel and then they made an UNAUTHORIZED charge on my credit card for a transaction that should have been completely closed.
A company had stepped in to pay for two of the nights that I stayed at the hotel, presuming that I was coming in a night earlier to attend a conference. The hotel keeps telling me that my "original" reservation was actually the amended one and said that I was a no-show for the first night. After I was charged for only one night because my stay was for three nights instead of the assumed four.
A week later, they had the audacity to rework the reservation system to cover up their mistake to be able to charge my credit card without my permission and then say everything is fine when I'm having dinner with a friend and have my credit card DECLINED because they have a charge held on it.
Don't stay at this hotel unless you enjoy being jerked around with extra fees and charges because their staff can't be honest with their horrible reservation software.response / report this review -

Looking for somewhere to spend our 1 year anniversary. We had been to the Omni homestead for a few days the last year before we departed on our honeymoon. We really like Omni brand, so we decided to get out of the area and see Pittsburgh. We were not disappointed , from valet, front desk, room service, everything was great. We were there to relax and enjoy the city and this was a great home away from home. Clean and spacious rooms, hotel had a very elegant feel to It. No complaints and will defiantly stay here if we visit the city again. Also the location is great , has restaurants in house but also close walk to trendy spots to eat for all budgets.

Fantastic! Amazing service - the concierge, Travis, went above and beyond to help us and to plan out a weekend that truly captured the Pittsburgh experience. The customer service was beyond expectations! The hotel was amazing, loved the history and it was very conveniently located. If I could give a higher rating, I would! Truly had a wonderful time thanks to Travis!!!

Was put up here for work. I have to admit, I prefer 2.5 or 3 Star-class hotels. This hotel is too much prestige, too little amenities. $18 for breakfast?! And the portions aren't generous. Mattresses were FULL size, not Queen. Very clean and orderly, but not for me.

This was my first trip to this hotel, and it was great. I attended a wedding (ceremony and reception). The rooms were beautiful and classy. The staff was helpful and pleasant. Food and drinks were top notch, and not once did I feel like it was crowded. I'd definitely recommend this location. I hear the speakeasy is awesome, I really want to try it out

The good things about this hotel were mainly the location and the fitness center. The fitness center was nice because it didn't just have a treadmill, there were a few machines and freeweights. The bad parts were the hotel was old, but not in a good way. It felt a little trashy to be honest. The speakeasy was not as classy and the pricing. The thing that bothered me the most was there was almost no water pressure in the shower, and not just an inconvenient amount either. It was so little that it made it difficult to shower. Some of the staff were very helpful and friendly, but others were downright rude. I would not recommend this location for staying or for your future conference bookings.

The building is very nice. All staff members that I encountered were helpful and very friendly. Service in the hotel bar was quick and the drinks were good. Prices were relatively reasonable as well, based on my expectations after seeing the building. Overall, I had a very good experience.

The hotel is located close to many downtown attractions. PNC park, Heinz field, and the Andy Warhol museum are just a few within 20 minute walking distance. The staff at the hotel was very helpful and knowledgeable of the area and events going on downtown. The rooms are very spacious even for a standard room. Since the hotel is downtown it can be noisy in the rooms due to traffic but the hotel itself is quiet. Overall, good experience.

This historic hotel is beautiful, full of craftsmanship and charm. I felt like i was living in another time. The rooms are a nice size, well appointed. The bed was very comfortable. Hotel staff were excellent. I would recommend.

My husband and I came here on our wedding night. The front desk staff were very friendly, and they gave us a free upgrade to master suite. The room was large, clean and beautiful, and there is a conference room attached to the bedroom. We had breakfast in the conference room the next morning. We ordered room service and it was amazing! I would definitely come back here!
