Park is great. Playground and museum (watch movie at museum, ~30 min). Walk is easy, great views. Number of RV spots flooded in April, mostly near last circle, but not those on the circle.

Really significant Archaeological place. Had it not been called a fort, I would've visited here many years ago. Maybe they could drop the Fort since they now know it was not a fort. Been living in Mid Tenn for almost 20 years and was never really interested in visiting because I thought it was more modernmaybe civil war era.

This is probably one of my favorite nature trails. There are many different side trails you can go on, and each one is beautiful in its own way. You can get right up next to the water, or you can take a "safe route" and walk around the the path that encircles the field.
Whatever path you choose, you're sure to get in a good workout. This place is perfect for family outtings, dates, and everything in between. (Also a great lesson for children to learn about the fort, as they have signs telling you the history behind it.)response / report this review -

Very interesting place. Has some terrific views. And the history of the place is intriguing to say the lest. The museum was disappointing, but it doesn't hurt the ambiance of the park. Nice picnic area also. Trials are clear and obvious. The ranger and staff member were very accommodating in telling further details, the history of the prehistoric folks who used this ground.

The best trail in TN! This trail, along with its side trails, offer many great views of waterfalls, swimming holes, wildlife, and historical features. To make the hike more interesting and challenging, take the unmarked trail to the right along the river just past the museum. They follow the river and eventually meet the alternate trail access point. Take the alternate trails for an extended hike with more elevation change (500'). Keep to the right for the longest route around the park.

Such a fun area to camp for a couple days. Lots to explore! The native american history was very interesting and the scenery around all the waterfalls was incredible.

Great hiking trails. The scenery is just beautiful. Wild life and the sound of the water running is so relaxing. Great place to get away from the hustle and bustle for a couple of hours.

Such a great park; only less than an hour from Murfreesboro but you feel like you're so far away! It was a great little day trip for us. Lots of trails with plenty of scenery and the falls were beautiful. The trails were great, giving you options to different parts of the park and different physical levels. We opted to try multiple trails. The red trail (backbone) definitely tired us out. It was a very high and long climb but we enjoyed it. Would definitely go back.

I love this place. Its very peaceful and there's a small museum on the grounds that tells you about the prehistoric Indians that lived here. There's a campground and hiking trails and 7 different waterfalls along the trails. There's a play area for the kids and places to grill. Its a beautiful little park. I visit there often

Very cool place with several waterfalls and trails. Seems a pretty busy place near the entrance, but the further in you walk the less people you will see naturally. If you like to explore and hike this is a great place to do it!

This state park is my favorite state park I have been to yet, in Tennessee!! I counted 5-6 waterfalls including the dam. The best part is the falls are so close to the museum! If you take the trail that goes behind the museum past the dam, there are two falls that way and not far at all! The falls are absolutely amazing! There are really beautiful Dragon flies there in the summer. We also saw deer drinking at the top of the falls! I can't wait to go back! I am going to make a point to return in the fall for the colors and the spring for flower season!

I was disappointed to see that the "Fort" I was promised had been turned into a gift shop. With only 2 signs in the vicinity, there wasn't much to learn about the area's history either. The only redeeming factors were the nice view of the water and the interesting wildlife (though if you dislike strange insects, you will want to avoid the latter.)

Campsites are large enough to easily hold vehicle Campers as well as a few tents (We always have 3 large tents and still have plenty of space to spread out). There are several trees to provide shade. The river is a short hike, and the restroom facility is clean. The Rangers and staff have consistently been friendly and helpful. The hiking trails are safe and easy enough for children.

This park is informative on the geolocial and archalogical aspects of the immediate surrounding area with easily accessible parking and clearly marked information signs. The museum is small but has friendly and knowledgeable staff and is worth a stopping point. There are numerous trails with easy hiking allowing guests to experience the peacefulness of nature around them.
