Great eats and beverages. Always interesting people and conversations. Friendly people and service.
I came in with four others last night and I have never been treated so rude. Just because we choose to look a little different than the usual uptight, too good for God, judging locals, does not mean that we do not deserve respect and courtesy. Four other tables had their orders taken and food delivered before a server even came to our table. They actually never did so we left and are NEVER coming back. Before one judges, you better take a long look at yourself in the mirror and remember that there is only one true judge
We had a delicious calif chicken sandwich and a cheeseburger. We asked for the salad / vegetables rather than the fries and were very pleased. Also, our check was less than what we expected. Hope this Boulder Icon stays around even if the building will be demolished and replaced with a more bigger more modern look.
We went there mid-afternoon looking to eat, and the smell of the place should have been my first warning. It smelled like moldy towels. We were seated after a 10 minute wait, and sat there for over 25 minutes without a waiter or waitress addressing our table. I went to the hostess to ask for a server after our first 15 minutes but that was useless. However, this was a good teaching moment for my kids because I told them see what happens when you don't go to collage, you end-up working at Old Chicago. So Sad.
I was going to give this place 4 stars because I enjoyed pissing on your sidewalk so much since you guys wouldn't let me go inside and use your lavatories but I thought that would be too generous. I hope you know that people piss all over and behind you building all the time causing a putrid odor to linger around this Old Chicago restaurant. For some logical reason unbeknownst to me the city of Boulder likes to lock down all public restrooms at excruciatingly early hours so people have to resort to pissing all over your buildings. I just wanted to thank you.
Once upon a time, the bar at Old Chicago was renowned as a beer drinker's paradise with rare beers from around the world. Before that it was great video arcade. Nowadays the only reason to go here is to say you've been to the original restaurant in the chain. Maybe some people try to do that like they visit all the ballparks on opening day.
