Food was very good, enjoyed the seasoning and atmosphere. Above what I would have expected and glad we ate here. However, service was odd. We had a late Monday lunch and they were not busy. Lauren told us she would be our server, but never came back after taking our order, even avoiding us? The kitchen brought our food, we grabbed our own ketchup and hot sauce from the bar, and someone from the bar helped us pay.

Nola is by far my favorite Happy Hour in downtown. I've always received excellent service and the Happy Hour Menu is AMAZING. They also have changed the menu several times so it is nice to have new options frequently.

I will say that I greatly miss the Catfish Fingers and hope they come back soon but everything on their menu is excellent. We've had a party of 4 order everything on the Happy Hour Menu and had leftovers and the food total was less than $15. Their drinks, especially the specialty drinks, are all great.

Smallis place with live music on the weekend. Had a fantastic group playing rock genre. Lead guitar was excellent. Location is in the market square area. Ambience is casual and very upbeat. Feels like a happening place with an energetic vibe. The bar is long and narrow. Staff is good but can get overwhelmed in a crowd. Will definitely be back.

This place might have been good at one time but the last time we ate here almost everybody at our table had something wrong with their meal. We waited forever for our drinks to arrive and even longer for the food. If you're just looking for a nice place to hang out at the bar and listen to some live jazz this place is great! Nice Ambiance on Market Square.

Wow, I was really blown away at NOLA at Market Square. This place was recommended to me by a work associate complimenting the food. I walked in to a busy bar that seemed lively. Come to find it was a pub crawl that stopped crawling. I ordered the squash and pumpkin soup ($6) with the Shrimp and Grits ($27).

I Thought is was very pricey but I don't mind if the quality is up to par. The atmosphere is very authentic to NOLA but that's where the similarities stop. The soup arrived in seconds and was bitter and salty, obviously it had been reducing for days, which was upsetting because squash and pumpkin soup is usually sweet, warm and delicious. The bartender offered to get me something else so I tried the french onion soup. It took 10 minutes, the cheese was nicely baked but the soup had little onions, it was very salty, and the bread was a gel.

At this point I was scared to see the shrimp and grits. And as expected the dish was unrecognizable from my Cajun experience. The grits were served as a cake bar which was not seasoned topped with a watery sauce that had congealed under the lamps. The celery was raw and crunchy. This was garnished with inedible garnish "to offset the color". Which is sorely needed as the color was disgusting.

I spoke to the manager who apologized but was unwilling to try the food and didn't seem interested in my opinion. He told me this was a Pittsburgh take on shrimp and grits. And he assured me others like it and removed everything from the bill. I left hungry and unhappy with the managers attitude. If they cared about quality or service the manager would have addressed the poor food immediately.

I feel sorry for everyone there that has to stomach that blemish on Cajun cuisine. In the future listen to customers and if you're going for Cajun in Pittsburgh keep it authentic!

We ordered 3 dishes: crawfish mac daddy, jambalaya, and Voodoo pasta. All three of them tasted terrible. The mac daddy was the blandest dish I've ever tasted, as if it had no salt or seasonings in it. The pasta was overcooked and watery, and the noodles were cut into short pieces. The jambalaya was mushy. The waiter we had didn't bring a glass for the beer that I ordered, so we asked for a glass, and he still forgot to bring it the next couple times he came around until we prompted him again. He didn't even apologize for forgetting. He would only look at my husband while talking, and didn't spare a glance at me or my mother. I'll never be going back again.

Just went for lunch. Walked in and stood there for a few minutes and was greeted by no one. Sat at the bar unattended for a few minutes before bartender approached us saying he would be right with us. Sat there for another 5 minutes and was starting to lose my patience. The bartender started preparing our waters though. Oh wait those were waters for a different table. We both just got up and left. That's the last time I will visit this place. Also was cautious of a terrible stagnant water type smell coming from the place. If I could rate this 0 stars I would.

Their catfish sandwich was good but bland which is surprising for a "creole" restaurant. One of the waitstaff just plopped our beverages in front of us with no napkins underneath the glass and then just walked away. I was surprised the glass didn't fall over or break.made us stop our conversation mid sentence and stare at each other. Otherwise, service was okay. Other waitstaff were very attentive. Nice atmosphere, cozy place. Loved the live band but the music was too loud to continue any conversationhad to leave so we could talk and hear one another!

Visited for dinner during the Pgh Arts festival with 5 family and friends. It was a great relief to be able to be seated right away, as most restaurants had hours-long wait. The menu was small, and very authentic to NOLA, meaning you should like this type of food because you won't find many neutral goods. We did ask for a lunch menu, which had other sandwiches and burgers. Dad had fish sandwich, which he liked, and Mother enjoyed her creole Margarita Pizza and salad. Kids had burgers. Not many healthy choices. Portions were filling. The staff was attentive and pleasant, and we had a nice night. Food was a pricey (expect $20-$30+ for an entree) off of the sandwich menu which was decent ($12 burger). Live music was nice, but very very loud (authentic NOLA?) and we had to shout to be heard across the table even though we weren't near the band. There is an outdoor seating area, bar inside, and more secluded seating near the back.

Great jambalaya, shrimp and grits, and other New Orleans style food. Good beer selection and nice staff. Pecan pie a la mode (both pie and ice cream made in house) was incredibly good.

I love Nola, I've been here many times. The food is always good. Drinks are always good, the bartenders do know their stuff. I'm never disappointed, my experiences are always pleasant at Nola. The vibe is always great, it's warm and inviting.

The service is INCREDIBLE! The food is AUTHENTIC Cajun New Orleans style. I have never been disappointed here! The cost is between $$-$$$ depending how many are in your party, of course, and what kinds of food you order. This was a mainstay in my traveling to Pittsburgh before settling down in the Burgh.

And even tho you wouldn't recognize it from the crowded outside, YES THEY ARE HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE! There is a ramp on the inside. And it takes you to some of the best seating too, in my opinion.

Prices seemed high to this "small town girl" but well worth it for the experience! I called early in the day to inquire about parking (they have valet) and the woman on the phone was very kind and knowledgeable. I was there for a party upstairs and the service and phenomenal! Great drinks and food! Super fun experience in a beautiful venue.

Loved this place on Market Square. One of my favorite places, when I used to live and work down there. A little expensive but the food was delicious. A perfect place for a date night and some light music. Loved the alligator meat and Sea Food Jambalaya. A must visit place if you are in that area.
