Really good authentic German food. Fun atmosphere and decor. It's a bit loud but everyone is having a good time. The heifeweizen is really tasty. I wanted to get desert but just didn't have enough room.

The entire staff was beyond friendly and easy to work with for planning and hosting our corporate event. The food was so good that I returned the following night on what was only a four day trip to Pittsburgh. If I ever return to Pittsburgh this stop is mandatory.

Have the best Reuben sandwiches. The pork entree are also very good. I don't know how traditional the menu ispretzels and bier (beer) cheese are very popular and are part of most appetizers and entrees. Not a beer drinker but impressed with the brewery equipment and array of beers, some brewed on site. One draw back, long wooden benches and tables with constant polka music, but if you're into it this restaurant has it.

We took our boss to Hofbrauhaus yesterday for lunch to celebrate her birthday at my suggestion, because we often have alumni events here and have always had a good time. We had a group of eight and were seated on the deck since it was a gorgeous day. We arrived and were seated by 12:15.

After waiting 10 minutes, a waitress appeared and asked if anyone wanted drinks. I ordered a Diet Pepsi and my coworkers all stuck with water. The waitress left and we waited. And waited. And waited.

At 12:40 when we still had not ordered, I went inside and flagged down a busboy, explaining that we were on a limited schedule and had not even gotten drinks yet. He apologized, grabbed a waitress, and immediately came to take our order. They said they had gotten crushed all the sudden and assured us our food would be out right away.

At 12:45 (half an our after we had arrived) they finally brought my soda and said again our food was on the way.

At 1:05 when we still had not gotten any food or seen our server, I once again went inside and flagged down a bus boy, saying that we would need our food packed to go as we no longer had time to eat. He promised it would be taken care of right away.

At 1:10 our waitress brought out a birthday sundae with a candle in it, which-- while incredibly thoughtful-- was not helpful since we still had not gotten out meals. She said again our food would be out "soon" and I said again that we needed it to go. We also asked for our checks.

At 1:15 we were finally given our checks (though we still had gotten any food) and discovered that the checks were incorrect. We paid the incorrect checks anyway because by then we were starving and late.

At 1:20-- over an hour after we arrived-- we finally got our cold food to go.

This was a terrible and embarrassing birthday experience. We ended up eating cold food in a meeting because of this. There was no adjustment to our (incorrect) checks.

Despite working across the street from here, none of us will be back any time soon

Classic German beer hall. Always 4-6 solid German recipe brews on tap and the food is fantastic. Also, live entertainment most nights. Great for an after work drink or to bring the family.

The beer is good and the food is tasty. I ordered the Jägerschnitzel (Breaded Pork Cutlet fried, topped with a Burgundy Wine Mushroom Sauce). The wine sauce was excellent and paired so nicely with the pork. The beir garden out back is gorgeous. All of the staff are polite and helpful. The beer hall itself is loud, so it is not a great spot for quiet conversation.

My husband and I went on a Thursday in late afternoon. The food was excellent, the service was great (Thanks, Breezy!) and the atmosphere was authentic. I would recommend the Dunkel bier.

I came here twice. First time was a few months ago with my classmates, second time with my husband. With my classmates, we hung out in the main hall filled with German music and dancing. With my husband, we sat in the quiet hall for a late-night meal. I had a good experience both times.

The main hall is very loud and that's the place for parties, group meals, happy hour and bar socials, dancing and sing-a-long. The quiet/chill hall is for those that want regular quiet dinning. The food is good! The appetizers are large! The waitresses wear tight German costumes God bless them it looks uncomfortable! But they are all very friendly.
