Nikki, the home owner, is an amazing host. The home is simply beautiful, is well furnished throughout, and the views from the upstairs master bedroom and porch we're incredible. It literally feels like your spending the night in a treasured museum. She shared so many great stories about the history of the home and neighborhood and cooked a good old fashioned made from scratch biscuit and gravy breakfast. There are two warnings worth mentioning to anyone interested in staying here. If you have cat allergies, be forewarned. Also, walking to the casinos or Main Street, it will be tough two to three block hike and is not for anyone not acclimated to high altitude. The hill is a steep one. All in all, the home and host exceeded our expectations and will be the first place we look to if we are ever needing a place to stay in Blackhawk/Central City.

Wonderful place. We had our annual convention at the Ameristar in Blackhawk but I decided to mix it up a little and have some fun so stayed in this gorgeous Victorian house. Turned out to be a great decision! And Nicki is an awesome host. It will definitely be a "do again"

Stayed at Nicki's mansion a weekend ago and I must say it was definitely worth every penny spent! Nicki is an amazing host and all around wonderful human being who makes you feel right at home! I recommend anyone looking to get away from the glitz and glamour of the big hotels in Black Hawk to come stay here! So much history and charm behind the giant steel gates leading up to the front door! Will for sure be back sometime soon!!!

Nicki is so sweet and her home fits her perfectly! She’s such an incredible host who goes out of her way at every turn to make you feel welcome. She has put so much love into the place that it’s hard to leave. We only stayed one night, but she spent lots of time getting to know us and sharing her space so lovingly. She even packed us homemade brownies for our ski day. I can’t believe how thoughtful and kind she is.
The home was spotless and I slept like a baby. It’s very old and she has done wonders in restoring it while keeping the charm of that era. Nicki is a hardworking woman with a gigantic heart and I can’t wait to go back. The price was amazingly affordable for such a fantastic experience, I will never stay at those crusty casino hotels again.

By far one of the best bed and breakfast places I've stayed. Most outrageous and eclectic taste, makes you feel comfortable and at home. Ask Nicki about her 1800's waffle iron, she makes the best waffles in town. Couples steam room in the bomb shelter!

Nicki is a fabulous host. She really put a ton of effort in making the Nicki Lee Mansion beautifully decorated and she was sweet and kind the entire time we were there. We stayed in the Mae West Room which was great! Super comfy bed and breakfast was awesome. She makes the BEST coffee I've had in a long time. Great views from the wrap around porch or the by window in the front parlor. She is also very knowledgable on the history of the mansion as well as Central City. You can walk to main street Central City in 2 minutes and be in the center of the casinos. I highly recommend her B&B!

Enjoyed staying at this amazing 150+ old home. Spotlessly clean with comforable furniture of the period.
It is a tribute to the memory of Jeremiah Lee, a slave freed prior to the civil war by his owner Robt. E Lee. He traveled west and found his fortune here. The hostess brings history alive with her tales of this important town and the characters who passed through it.

The Nicki Lee Mansion is incredible. The owner is an incredibly generous and fascinating person, and she made everyone feel welcome and at home immediately. She put so much careful and considerate work into restoring the mansion in order to do justice to its history and beauty. I highly recommend visiting and staying at the Nicki Lee Mansion!

    My stay here was amazing.

It was a short walk away from casinos, the Gilpin County Museum, Central City Opera House, Main Street and thrift stores. A very short drive away are historic cemeteries.

This historic house/mansion along Bankers Row was beautifully decorated. Each room has its own unique theme and charm. The bed was comfortable. The porch was awesome with chairs. Nicki was so very hospitable, sweet and a grand host.

The healing relaxation of the steam shower soothed.

The breakfast in the morning was grand with plenty of hot coffee.

I recommend this Bed N Breakfast as a wonderful alternative to other options in the area. Book it now. Book it often. You'll be glad you did. So glad.

This place is absolutely lovely. Nicki is an amazing and friendly hostess. The house is very clean and breathtakingly beautiful. Her employee, Hasaan was there to greet us with tea and cookies! It's a block away from all of the Central City nightlife. I would stay there all over again. I dont know what is up with Misty P. (previous review), but it's pretty despicable to claim that someone is racist when they are clearly not. Some people just try to bring others down at every oppertunity and use smear campaigning to get money from businesses by leaving reviews like that. Nicki Lee Mansion is a wonderful place and you should stay there.

Roses: Beautiful old place with many authentic pieces, decent breakfast, great location, amazing front porch, and 2 lovely cats.
Onions: Shared bathrooms, and an inn keeper unafraid to defend her racism and prejudices! Such a disgusting display of racism and an incredibly comfortable use of racial slurs.
So, in summation, if you don't mind staying in a beautiful place and having a lovely breakfast of eggs with a side of racism, then this is the place for you.
I, however, am incredibly disappointed and would not recommend it.

I booked two rooms with Nikki for my best friends birthday and I couldn't be more satisfied. So close to the casinos and so close to local bars it was a blast. Nikki was sweet and very inviting, her breakfast was DELICIOUS! The rooms were beautiful, the photos don't do them justice. Incredible value. Don't waste your money on a casino hotel room. If you like eclectic, nostalgic, beautiful vintage settings, this is the place for you.
