This is a great place to stay in Colorado Springs. It is easy to get to, the beds are comfortable, the hotel is quiet for sleeping, the breakfast is unparalleled (especially for being included with the room), the happy hour includes good prices and good bar food, and the lobby is beautiful with a large fireplace, lots of seating, lofted ceilings, and a pool off to one side. They include lemon or cucumber water out at all times. Comfortable place with or without kids. You will get the best price calling direct and not going through travel websites. This is our favorite stay in Colorado Springs.
Room need some new carpet and a fresh coat of paint. Bathroom needs a handyman to come through and replace broken hand rails and change out the dated toilets.
This hotel is great though. Price and location are perfect. The staff seems like customer service is their number 1 priority.
Pool is in a unique place and is plenty fine for the kids to go burn some extra energy. Don't expect to do a bunch of laps or anything like that, every time I've been at or by the pool it's family fun time, which is super fun!
Breakfast in the morning (included) is really good. I've had better, but only at places double or triple the nightly rate.
Such a bargain! We loved everything about our stay. The room and common areas were super clean and comfortable, and the included breakfast buffet was spectacular (fresh omelettes, waffles, French toast, among other items). The pool is heated and located inside a beautiful atrium. All of the staff we encountered were extremely kind and friendly, one of the gals on staff at the breakfast buffet even remembered us day to day! Close proximity to tons of shopping and restaurants. A very resort-like experience for a budget motel price. For the price, you won't find better. We have found our permanent go-to for lodging in Colorado Springs!
Beautiful, warm and inviting atmosphere with super friendly staff. Clean and spacious rooms with the best views! This is my new favorite hotel in Colorado Springs, I will be returning, again and again!!! Great location, you can find anything nearby with all the stores in walking distance. I am so glad to know about this hotel and I recommend not staying in any other hotel in town, you can't get better quality for your money anywhere!!
I stayed here for work. Corey at the front desk was AMAZING. He got me checked in quickly and showed true excellence in customer service. I ate at the Falcon Grill and Bar all 3 nights I was here. The food is fantastic, huge portions and great price. Garry the bartender is another example of excellence in customer service. He remembered me from day to day, and honestly, I will miss him when I leave. This is THE place to stay!!!
We stayed here two nights, and couldn't have had a better stay anywhere else! Complimentary breakfast was fabulous, and the breakfast staff was super friendly and very attentive. The in-house restaurant and bar was good, and is located in the heart of the hotel. The room was clean and well-kept, bed was huge and very comfortable with lots of pillows. Location was perfect for us, quick access to the interstate and many fun things to do in the area. Would recommend this hotel to anyone, we hope to be back someday!
I cannot be more happy with this hotel and their wonderful staff! I have seriously had the best experience with Ashley, the sales manager. Everyone has been so accommodating and the rest of my family feels the same. Great rooms, great customer service, a great experience!
Great stay at the Academy Hotel! The service and food at their in-house restaurant was great. The rooms were clean and despite the age, smelled fine. The only complaint for me is the old shower curtain. It was kinda old and mildewy smelling. Other than that, the weekend was wonderful.
Slept great! Dark rooms, cool air, very quiet!.. Our room was not in good condition but it was clean and we made the best of it. Staff members in restaurant and lobby area seemed interested in conversation amongst themselves while tables were dirty and littered. Pool was warm and welcoming and never without families having fun. It is evident some updates in progress. Great breakfast and evening dining offered many tasty choices.
I stayed at the Academy Hotel with a group of 14 people. We came as a group and despite all of the hassle we put the hotel through, they managed everything with a smile. I would give a personal shout-out to Ashley who put up with my repeated questions and calls and even helped plan our stay.
The value for money you get here is incredible. We stayed through a group rate, but even paying the BAR rate would have been worth the amenities and service we received. The beds are extremely comfortable and there were even multiple pillow types to fit the needs of the individual.
Whenever I stay in Colorado Springs, I will be sure to plan my stay with The Academy Hotel.
As a military family most every business in the area is vet accommodating to military not here. I thought since we found a bed bug in our bed they would be worried about making sure we were comfortable somewhere else. The owner was notified (since it is family owned) and never called us. The female front desk manager was unwilling to help in anyway (other then "refunding" our money for not staying at all). The other front desk manager is the only reason I even left without resolution. He was much nicer then the female manager. The owner had no protocol in place for this situation leaving the managers nothing to work with.
The hotel is beautiful. There a very few flaws which are extremely minor. Everyone is a joy to speak with, the restaurant and bar are fantastic. The complimentary breakfast is the greatest breakfast of any hotel I've ever had. They allow non guests to eat breakfast there but it costs them $15 pet person. Your stat also comes with $10 coupons per day you stay to be used at the restaurant and bar. Room service is available and at a very reasonable price. This hotel is very reasonable in price and I personally wouldn't stay anywhere else.
This place is a little dated but it's great for the price. Bathroom was very tiny and in need of updating, but it suited our needs well enough. The soap pump dispensers in the shower looked cool, but getting enough conditioner out was a daunting task. The shower curtain seemed old and ugly replacing them would be a huge improvement. The toilet seat was missing the plastic cover for one of the screws in the back. Still functional but not very nice to look at. The bathroom in general was just "meh". The pool and bar however, were both wonderful - that's why this place gets 4 stars instead of 3. The bartender was awesome and gave some great menu recommendations. Their mozzarella sticks were very tasty! Drinks were on point too. Breakfast buffet was better than your standard hotel continental fare and was included with our stay. The pool was open all night, no kids after 10pm. That was perfect for our group. We were disappointed that the outdoor jacuzzi wasn't working though. We'd stay again.
Nice room. Bed is SUPER comfortable and they have good coffee in the room. HOWEVER the creamer packets (if you can call them that) SUCK (powdered non dairy creamer does NOT make the Starbucks coffee you offer very good. Also, housekeeping replaced my towels even though I was going to use them again but DIDNT take out the trash or remove my room service tray from the night before!
