  We purchased impact windows from Mr. Build in 2012 for over $23,000.00 that were supposed to have a lifetime warranty, the paperwork even states that. I have an issue with one of the windows leaking water in the house. I am a handy person so I removed the window sill to see if I could figure out where the water was coming in. I saw an area where the vinyl had separated from the frame and light was coming through so I caulked that area and anywhere else that might be a potential problem but it was still leaking a little bit. I called Mr. Build and explained to them the issue and told them I wasn't looking to file a claim or have them fix it I just wanted a professional window person to come out and see if they could figure out where the leak was coming from and I would do the work. The lady on the phone told me the business had been sold in 2018 and that the prior owner used to just tell people the windows had a lifetime warranty but that they don't. Then she said she would have to charge me $75 to send someone out just to do a visual inspection but not really investigate it any further. I told her I was a painting contractor for 24 years I know how to visually inspect a window for caulking issues. Well I got nowhere, so before you have Mr. Build do any work for you be aware that they might be lying to you just to get your money, then you'll be on your own after that! The owner replied that I had a cracked frame (probably from hurricane Ian) and I tried to fix it but it still leaked. That is a down right lie! I never told the person on the phone that. Thanks to You Tube I discovered that the window is leaking from a faulty 45 degrees joint at the bottom of the window. It takes more than a $75 "visual" inspection to do some investigate work do discover issues sometimes. I would have gladly paid $75 for someone to come out and try some things to figure out the problem, but not just to look at it. I will say thank you for providing me with the window manufacturer's phone number as I am working with them to resolve this issue.

  Was getting an estimate for hurricane shutters, turned out I can afford impact windows. Company rep was very helpful and timely.

  I ordered two new doors, from Mr Build, for my 1958 Mid Century Modern house. The previous owner had installed a front door, a brown plastic finish with fake leaded glass details, from Home Depot, that looked like it belonged on a Victorian townhouse. I waited years to replace it with a door appropriate to the MCM design. The back door was old and tired from years of wind stripping off the paint and warping the wood finish. Jason McBride and his team did a fabulous job of installing both doors in less than a full day. Their attention to detail at every point from removing the old doors, to stripping off the previous molding and trim, was spot on. I watched them mount each door and then watched the amazing attention to detail as they reinstalled new trim and all the detailed pieces to make the end product perfect.I almost wish I had more doors for them to replace with such a perfect MCM vibe. Great job!

  Jason and Richard replaced our old front door with an impact rated door. They worked well together, efficiently and the finished job was very nice. I would recommend them as well as Mr. Build's company

  UPDATE: 7/7/21- Joe has still not returned the money I paid him to install windows which he has not installed. He underestimated the scope of work to be completed and signed a contract that simply says that he will install 7 windows and 2 sliding glass doors. His installers came out to do the job and said they were not provided enough information from Joe for them to install them. Then Joe insists on trying to charge me $600 for their time that they spent siting in their truck waiting for him to call them back and give them direction. I will now have to waste even more time taking Joe to small claims court because he refuses to refund my money and refuses to install the windows and doors as described in the scope of work. The solution he suggested is that he would still install them without any warranty and then if he can not get them to fit in the opening without removing stucco and drywall (a standard way of installing windows in a CMU wall) that he will just board them up with plywood and leave them. Some solution huh? I SERIOUSLY recommend you think twice before working with Joe. He does not understand how contracts work and he believes that once you pay him for initial work he has the right to keep that money whether he actually does any work or not. There are plenty of other window installers out there, do not take the risk in losing your time and money by working with Joe & Mr. Build and if you still choose to work with him do not give him any money upfront.
  
  ORIGINAL REVIEW:
  Joe came out to look at installing new windows that were already delivered to our project site. He did not take any measurements to confirm, just took our deposit and left. His install team came out that weekend and said to us that Joe had not given them enough information to do the job and that they would need to measure all our windows and openings. They decided they did not want to install them because it would involve removing stucco and drywall around the windows and they left. Joe then decide to charge $600 for their time which involved measuring 7 windows and installing none. Do not use Mr. build unless you want them to charge you and not finish any work.
