Was travelling with family stayed for one night
Rooms was decent clean comfortable and staff was very helpful and it was very convenient to get on interstate.
Staying here and workting here is fun in a lot of ways. Meeting new people is great unless they come into check in and are already tipsy. All in all, for cheap rates, clean rooms, and a friendly staff - this is the place to stay for a night or a week or longer.
When we arrived, the heat was not on (about 30 degrees outside), and there were no towels. After we turned on the heat, it did not work well. All night long the room was cold. Also, there was no blanket--only a sheet and a thin bedspread--not even a comforter. The water in the shower/tub did not drain out.
I went to the front desk and was given towels. I told the clerk the heat was not on when we got to the room, and she said they do not turn the heat on before tenants arrive. I did not report the failure of the heat, the lack of a blanket, or the water not draining. We were tempted to ask for another room but did not want to go through the hassle.
THE ABSOLUTELY WORST MOTEL that I have ever checked into. 9pm on Oct. 26th 2017, I made the mistake of paying for a room at this Motel 6, in Attalla, Al. I asked for a non-smoking room - the "hostess"(new to job)said something about it was suppose to be non-smoking and that it should be "pretty clean"? I should have inspected the room before moving in - I wasn't feeling well and had driven 10 hours. The room had not been cleaned at all. There was cigarette burns in the bed spread, the chair cushion and cig stains on the bed stand, sink and bathtub. There was urine stains on the commode rim and filth everywhere. I pulled back the sheets to find a piece of a band-aid between the sheets.
I went back to the office and demanded my money back - being new, this took the night clerk over 20 minutes to reverse the charges on my credit card.
I wish I had not been so exhausted and had thought to have taken pictures.
DO NOT EVER WASTE YOUR TIME BY STOPPING HERE!
I stayed in this same hotel in May of 2016, under a different chain. Let me tell you that it has completely changed for the better. I actually thought I was making a reservation for a different hotel when I made my reservation on line. So when I found out it was the same hotel, I was more than a little nervous. But, everything has been completely re done. All the moldy smelly carpet was replaced with new flooring, new paint on the walls, new flat screens in the rooms. Greatly improved from the last time. Keep in mind that the property is older. Walls are thin and the doors don't shut quite right. But our room was clean, the staff was friendly, and the King size bed slept good. Plus the price was right. I would plan on staying at this place again.
was travelling with family and stopped at motel 6 for one night
good price clean and comfortable room
easy access to interstate 59
The owners work very hard and are doing so much on their own that I hate to point out their failings, but, overall this place desperately needs some capital investment. Walls, floors, fixtures, sinks, tubs, toilets are all in need of repairs, have multiple cigarette burn marks, cracks, peeling, etc. etc. Found a bug in my bed, a beetle, thankfully not a bed bug. All outside concrete walkways need power washing badly, etc.
Motel 6 Attalla is being updated. Office area mostly. Rooms very nice and clean. Price was very good, over $20 cheaper than similar rooms in Tennessee.
It was easy to find. Got the room fast. It's affordable.
Good price and nice man. That being said the water never got hot. The sheets and pillows had holes and stains all over them. The lights didn't really work that good and the Wi-Fi network was really bad. I wouldn't recommend to anyone.
Positives:
Provided adequate shelter from the rain
Bathrooms had Running water
Doors locked
Very expedient Police response time
Negatives:
Witnessed domestic dispute
Man died in one of the rooms the night previous to our stay (confirmed by police)
Hair and fingernail clippings found in sheets
Cop reported 2+ previous meth lab busts
The only actual good thing about this place is the staff were friendly.
When we checked in the lady at the front desk told me that I owed an additional 1.50 that the online site "forgot" to charge, lie, lie, lie! When we got to our room it looked ok and was fairly clean for the price, but when we laid down in the bed, it took about 10 minutes and we both started itching really bad, we got up quickly and we had bites/rash all over us. I started pulling the sheets back and there were bed bugs EVERYWHERE! The mattress was so nasty that it wasn't even fit for a dog to lay on, the pillow looked like someone urinated all over and the blanket was wadded up and thrown in a drawer, dirty and with cigarette burns all over and it was a "non" smoking room! We showered and packed up and left, when I returned the key, the lady ask why we were leaving and if everything was ok, I told her about it all and she had the nerve to accuse me of lieing and said that was there "nice room"!!!! I give it one star Only because I can't give it less!! WARNING: DON'T GO THERE, IT MAYBE CHEAP BUT IT IS NOT FIT FOR ANYONE OR ANYTHING TO SLEEP IN.
Small hotel with decent service and very nice budget prices. Literally one of the least expensive in the metropolitan area and further distant areas.
Good prices, friendly staff, but the linens and pillows were gross. Cigarette burns on bedspread and one of the pillows, which was falling apart and so uncomfortable that I woke up with a headache and hurting neck.
Room was average, bathroom not clean. Advertised free breakfast but he said they don't do that anymore.two windows were busted out in the room upstairs next to the office..Hoodlums wandering the parking lot.but I stepped out of my room of which I was parked right in front of it.waved my gun around like a crazy person and I ain't seen Noone else out since. Cheap, comfy bed but bring your gun
