Disappointed in this campground. They closed down during the month of May and did not tell our Cub Scout Pack that they were closed.

BE AWARE - IN DISREPAIR

We booked this campground based on earlier reviews. We arrived and learned the campground has changed ownership and has gone downhill. The site we booked was supposed to be a full hookup for an RV. The site did not have sewer and was on a 2-ft slope inappropriate for an RV. To reach the site, we had to drive a rutted pot-holed steep dirt road.

Also, we had tent campers with us who needed bath facilities. The bathhouse is about 1/3 of a mile down the steep dirt road. We left.

With improvements, this could be an ideal campground for folks wanting to ride the Creeper Trail.

I must say this campground has gone downhill quite a bit in my opinion. Recently stayed there with a group. Horse manure everywhere in group camping area and parking lot. Never opened store. Stage area at end of group campground is dangerous and in dire need of repair including roof. Dog barking constantly at night. Someone riding motorcycle though camp well past what should have been quiet hours. Horses whinny right next to camping area at night. Way overpriced for the condition it is in. A real shame because the location is excellent. I hope the family can get it in better shape. We have stayed here quite a bit and this is the worst I've experienced.

I camp here every year with a group. It's an excellent place for bicycle camping, convenient to the VA Creeper Trail.

Simple campground. We went there with a 40ft RV said we'd have no problems.driveway was a dirt road uphill going in & it had rained. I recommend staying here in a tent or small class c not a 40ft rv. Did have some full hookup sites. No debit machine or office for last min supplies so be prepared. Have cash!! The ride up to it is a nail biter!!!! The good part isit's right at the creeper trail that goes all down hill into the next town. Had a blast but won't take our RV there again
