  I came in to look for a good bike for my son. Ken helped me out tremendously! He showed my son a couple of bikes and let him pick. The bikes he showed him both fit his lifestyle perfect. I'd definitely recommend this store!

  First of all, this place (which I'm ashamed to call a store) is terrible with timing. It took them two days to replace a stem when I had not a single person in front of me. I was excited to get my bike back but when I did I noticed the pedals weren't functioning right (they were perfect before) and they'd rotate without pushing the tires to move the bike forward. Trying to cross the street while riding was nearly a suicide ride due to the fact that I couldn't get my pedals to work. The chain was fine, the gears were fine, anything that could relate to the pedals as far as I could see was fine but they somehow did something to my pedals and tried to get me to pay more money for something they caused in the first place! Terrible customer service, I'd recommend you find somewhere else to go to to get your bike fixed because this place will try to suck money from you and destroy your bike a little bit more every visit.

  Sure they have bikes and gear, but they treated me as if they don't care if I ever come back or not so I won't. I've gone out of my way several times to support this local business, and unfortunately each experience was the same. Very little service and too much attitude. Online retailers have the same (better) selection, quality, and prices, so only go to Montgomery Cyclery if you want to feel like a moron.

  My husband and I have been here twice and both times the salespeople are rude! Today I stopped in there to meet my husband and son to buy a bike for our son and both salesmen looked at me like I was an alien neither one asked if we needed any help. As a matter of fact one of them walked passed me while looking at a $600 bike and acted like I was in his way! Needless to say we are taking our business to a different shop located on 18 in Florence next to a health food store. I am sure they might appreciate our business .

  I took my bike in for a derailer issue I caused, I got the bike back in perfect working condition. They give a high degree of detail to taking care of the bikes, fixing the derailer and anything else that needed attention. This was in the one year of free service window, so there was no bill. I watched the 3 guys working on bikes, and if it was a child's bike or a more expensive bike, I got the impression great attention is given to all.

  I have purchased three bikes there over the last 4 years, a Giant Rincon mountain bike and a Cannondale CAAD9 for me, a Giant "beach-cruiser" for my wife. I also bought a Burley child carrier from them.
  
  Almost every time I have been in there the staff was courteous, helpful and knowledgeable. There were a couple times that I was not comfortable with the help I was getting, and that was probably due to the fact that the person helping me wasn't all that knowledgeable. Like any place, there are good and bad employees.
  
  I think their prices are good, and they have a great one-year maintenance warranty. After I bought my CAAD-9 I put about 200 miles on while training for a Triathlon, I took it into them a couple days before the race and one of the staff was very eager to get it "race-ready" for me.
  
  Unless you are looking for a super high end bike like a Colnago or Cervélo, this is a great place to go
