My wife and I went out for dinner tonight after visiting the Castillo de San Marcos. The restaurant is about a block walk from the fort. Not sure what to expect. Wow, were we surprised. The waiter was great. The atmosphere up casual. The Chef rocks great texture, presentation, spicing and flavors. Excellent food. The menu, uncomplicated and it covered a nice selection of dining items. The dinner moved along with good pace, but no rush Relaxed. House red wine selection perfect. The final bill was reasonable and appropriate for what we received. One small setback was the greeter, a smile and a genuine welcome, how may I help you..would have been nice. Maybe a bad day?.All in all, put this on your list. The restaurant deserves your attention. Keep up the great work!

Let me preface this review first by saying maybe I just ordered the wrong dish because of the 7 others dining with us their meals were quite tasty. I ordered the Pork Flat Iron which came with a side of small round potatoes. The Pork was on the oily/greasy side and it was quite small. The potatoes also had quite a bit of oil. Not that the dish was bad, it just wasn't great and would give it two stars. I also had the Pulpo (octopus appetizer) It was tasty but a bit chewy as well. It was served with two very large French fries which actually saved the dish. My wife ordered the salmon and it was excellent as was the spicy black rice it was served over. Others in our party ordered the filet, (tasty and tender but small), & the tuna appetizer which was delish. The steamed mussels in a bacon tomato broth was quite good as were the Pinchos Boricua. They claim to have a huge wine selection and their menu is extensive. Only problem is they were out of bottles we requested. Same with the beer. I ordered a Moritz, (From Barcelona), and was told they were out of it. It's great that they tout their wine selection, not so great when they are out of items on the menu. The wait staff was attentive and friendly.

I was so excited to try grilled octopus for the first time in my 58 yrs. They brought it to me i didnt know if i should have ran out the door or what. It was a little longer than a magic marker. Boy was i HOT !! After that i had to find a real resturant to get food in my belly. :-(

I had a great experience at this restaurant. Everything was as professional as I'd ever seen, and the food was fantastic as well as unique. The waitress was professional, helpful, and polite. The atmosphere is beautiful and quiet, with great outdoor seating.
Two side notes:
1) As you might expect, it is very expensive here. We're talking 30$ for an entree. However, it is not overpriced. You pay for what you get.
2) One of the main selling points of this restaurant is its massive selection of wines. I can't speak for the wines because my group didn't order any. We drank the sparkling water, which is filtered and carbonated in the restaurant, resulting in a very tasty and refreshing water, if you're into that.response / report this review -

Wonderful very fresh food. Chef made me a great vegan dish. Wish they had organic vegan wine options since they have such a big wine menu.
