Rather disappointing overall.
Room service was overpriced (70$ for what amounted to the equivalent of 3 tv dinners).
Also used far too much plastic packaging despite notes in the bathrooms requesting the guest to "save the environment" by reusing towels (a bit hypocritical if you ask me).
When asked to provide a menu to order breakfast, there were none available at the concierge, and despite requesting one to be delivered, none came.
Internet is not complementary. Bathtub drain backed up water. No nearby public transport. Room had no microwave. Rooms on the main floor are located after a staircase with no ramp nearby for luggage.
At least they made good complementary apple cider. I expected better service from Marriott.
Excellent staff, from the top down, everybody we dealt with was excellent and a pleasure to deal with. Everyone put a smile on our faces. Lobby and all public spaces are beautiful ! All 400 rooms are being renovated to the same level. Our bed was so good we really didn't want to leave !
The Melville Marriott is an okay hotel. The location is pretty convenient in terms of getting around Long Island. It is a bit dated though and I think the fact that the interior "balconies" have sliding doors that open right into the walkway is strange. You have to keep the privacy curtain closed 24/7 unless you want to make friends with passersby. I do believe the hotel is preparing for a remodel, which is needed. The staff is very friendly and I thought the Continental breakfast in the Concierge lounge was decent.
My uncle was in town and staying here for the weekend. I met him for breakfast at the hotel restaurant and it was fantastic. They have an omelet bar and a full breakfast buffet, along with a standard menu available. The restaurant is laid out quite nicely with great, comfortable seating. It's a very unique look complimented with great food. I got a chance to check out the room and the common areas, and everything is very well done. I'd definitely stay here if I was coming in from out of town.
The Melville Marriott was a really nice hotel. I had a great time staying there and the quality of the room was top notch. The shower was amazing. And the king bed was very comfortable. Staff was nice and inviting. This was one of the biggest hotels I've ever stayed at. I didn't love the crazy long walk from the room to the lobby but that's a minor gripe.
A bit dated old hotel but nothing wrong. Great staff and in a quiet neighborhood. Very large lobby. Balcony is nice. Swimming pool is very good size.
Stayed overnight after a wedding. The open layout with the overlooking balcony floor was a cool style. However, if you have a room on the pool side, expect it to smell like clorine. The room was nice, bed was very comfortable, and having the microwave was nice. We went to the bar for an after party to the wedding and the bartenders made good drinks and were fully equipped to handle the 50+ people who were there.
The Marriott Melville is the absolute best among all hotels in its class, bar none. Our recent stay was incredible. Rooms, decor, restaurant, all superior. But their best quality was the friendliness and competency of the staff. All were top notch-the front desk, housekeeping, restaurant, maintenance workers, everyone. We'll make the Marriott Melville the destination for our annual family stay on Long Island.
There for a conference. Bathrooms clean. Bar and restaurant very nice. Good food. No longer had the chlorine smell from pool.
I met a friend, who was a guest at the hotel, for lunch in the Great Room. Excellent service, delicious food. The hotel had an upscale decor, and the staff was attentive. Great dining experience in a convenient location.
Overall, this is a good hotel. The rooms are serviceable and average, but essentially par for the price range. The food at the restaurant was pretty lackluster, but the bar and lounge area are great. There is a pretty neat indoor pool area that's a bit different from most hotels--it's not separated from the lodging quarters. We had no issues with our stay, and gladly would again.
The location is ready to find. The entrance and lobby are recently renovated and therefore modern and beautiful. however at a lot of the side entrances the doors are not secure bc the locks did not need cards to enter and there is a very strong smell of mold. it looks as though it isn't under construction either so I'm hoping that they are going to continue renovating the hotel
Attended professional meeting and found facility is well maintained. The location is convenient right off the major highway. The meeting room and space well proportionedwith good lighting. Parking was not a problem and it has two electric car charging ports. The courtesy Van was also electric. Staff were friendly and able to assist with direction. Would visit again.
