Was injured in a fall and just passing through the area on vacation so no family doctor. Went to Medcenter as closest urgent care. The doctor and staff were amazing. Stitched me up and sent me on my way in a professional, efficient and caring manner. Excellent medical care. Kathy
The doctor was amazing! She really was helpful and super sweet! Definatley returning. Although the front desk ladies would gossip very loudly about every customer once they walked out of the door.
Horrible experience here. I haven't even finished my visit yet and Ive already experienced horrible customer service from the front desk woman. Curt, rude, gives hardly any information and when asked for more snaps back a reply. I came here without any information regarding the pre-employment exam I had to get, and she treated me as if I was completely stupid for not knowing exactly what I need or what I have to get. Two men came in looking to get checked out from UCSB, and the lady was incredibly rude to them two, loudly stating in front of everyone that if they didn't have their insurance cards they would have to pay up front which could cost a lot of money. On top of that the two front desk ladies were talking badly about a fellow doctor where again, us patients could here. I work in the customer service industry myself, so I understand if you're having a bad day or something, but I can't recall a time I have received such inconsiderate service from an employee.
So slow. No customer service and long waits.
After injuring my leg in an evening basketball game, I went in to this center to see if I had torn my Achilles. The staff was nice - as was the doctor - and I was assured that it was not my Achilles and given an anti-inflammatory.
I then spent the next morning hobbling around in pain w/o crutches, and scheduled an appointment with a physical therapist. Within 10 seconds, he was able to confirm that my Achilles had absolutely been ruptured, and surgery was scheduled. In addition, he advised not taking the anti-inflammatory, as it would only serve to thin my blood and extend my recovery time.
Overall, I own this experience and am not giving this center a two stars out of anger. I made the mistake of not seeing a specialist when a specialist was needed, and recommend others not do the same.
I have been a patient of this practice for over a year and I could not be happier! I had Dr. Alan Wexler at first but he did not look very interested on really explaining or diagnosing any of my complaints. Then once I needed to so my Doctor but I was told that he was out on vacations but I could still see a different doctor. And I am so happy I did, Dr. Fernandez is the best Doctor I have ever had. She is really caring and understanding, she listens to all you have to say then she asks you questions to better understand your concerns. Then she explains to you in a very simple but respectful way and she does not look in a rush. She is not looking at the clock or trying to leave the office as soon as possible. She is my favorite Doctor for sure and I really hope she stays at this practice for a long time. A+++++ for Dr. Fernandez
