  I don't pamper myself all that often I'm young, I'm busy, and I'm broke! However, a few months ago, to my horror, I started noticing that my skin was reverting back to those horrible pimply high school days. I was breaking out! I tried my usual stuff, to no avail, and that's when I heard about Spa Del Mar's Free and Clear Purifying Facial (no, it's not free..) from a friend. So, I decided to spend the afternoon pampering myself! I went in early and hung out on their great little patio, relaxing and preparing for my zit attack. Potanjee took excellent care of me! She was thorough, professional, and amazing. After, I asked her how to keep my skin glowing zit free, and she recommended a few products from the spa. I've been using them regularly, and I'm thrilled to say I've left high school behind again!

  My bestie Sue said to spoil myself with a massage at Santa Barbara Spa Del Mar on the beachfront. Seriously, why should the tourists have all the fun?
  I called up for a massage and was offered deep tissue for a bit more. I love the therapeutic benefits of deep tissue so I upgraded.
  When I arrived at the Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort from work with my shoulder bag of massage clothes, I found the spa right by the pool area. It was so cheerful and started my mini vacation off on the right foot!
  My masseuse turned out to be the owner Julie. She knows the definition of deep tissue. I'd been having low grade neck pain and she spent time on my neck and I'm typing this pain free.
  Her hands were intuitive and I think she has excellent skills.
  One of the biggest surprises and pleasures was the use of hot towels. When they went on my back I melted happily and when they went on my feet I floated. Oh and can I tell you that I'm the girl that gets cold easily and they had a heated table. Yum.
  This is why you go to a really good spa. For the beauty of the decor that relaxes you and pampers your eyes. Then for the high level of skill and the special spa treats like the hot towels.
  Oh, and they have a cute little private patio to go hang out in. It would be so perfect for a group of women to have a pampering party.
  I'm really impressed with my spa massage, truly helped by the deep tissue method and letting you know you gotta go!

  I organized a spa day for a bridal shower of 12 girls at the Spa Del Mar, Julie was extremely helpful in accommodating our large party. We had the spa to ourselves for 3 hours, and everyone who got a treatment raved about their experience. We were even given passes to use the hotel pool, which was great for people who didn't have or were waiting for treatments. I will definitely be back at the Spa Del Mar next time I am back in Santa Barbara!

  I arranged to receive spa treatments at Spa Del Mar for a girls' weekend b/c a friend in the area recommended the spa. Julie and the entire staff were excellent in making arrangements for a holiday weekend with only one week's notice. Although, the spa was smaller than usual, the treatments were absolutely amazing! I also felt that the service was attentive and the entire staff appeared to be willing to go above and beyond to accommodate our needs. The cabana area was nice and reserved just for us, which was perfect b/c we had an opportunity to lounge and talk before, in between, and after our treatments. Even though the prices are more expensive, it was more than worth it for the individual attention and the kindness displayed by Julie and her entire staff. Everyone in the group was completely satisfied with their treatment--our relaxation lasted throughout the entire day. I also liked the variety on the menu b/c I was able to try something that I wouldn't normally choose. I would definitely recommend the scrub/massage--it is worth every penny! Thank you for a great experience! I would definitely use the spa again the next time I am in the SB area.
