Everything about this property exceeds expectations - the staff and grounds are amazing. We are fortunate to begin this yearly tradition. One of the true gems in California!

The attention to detail was phenomenal. This is a 5 star resort in all respects. The staff and the service is exemplary. The resort and the grounds are perfectly maintained. The pool, the drinks, the room, the Carrera marble bathrooms, the entire experience Just amazing. I would highly recommend this resort.

This Belmond property is very unique, and provides a terrific getaway for those who can afford it. The rooms are immaculate, very large with some of the best appointments I've seen. Additionally, the staff consistently went above and beyond to truly make our experience a memorable one. I can't recommend this property enough.

We went here for tea on a Friday afternoon. It was great! The view is gorgeous, of the ocean from a beautiful patio. Additionally, Our server was very nice. We plan to go again!

Beautiful setting.
service could be a bit better. smiling and saying hello is not enough.
Attention to detail is lacking for a hotel of this caliber. Our experience was limited to the outdoor restaurant area.
Coffee should not be in the saucer when delivered towels delivered at the completion of our desert waiters no where to be found although patio is empty.

El Encanto sits on an absolutely perfect piece of land high up in the hills of Santa Barbara. The entrance is subdued and discreet, which makes your visit feel that much more special, despite being just a short ride away from town. You can easily spend a day or two relaxing by the pool and just enjoying all the hotel has to offer, but if you're so inclined, the surrounding area has plenty to offer as well: beach, golf, vineyards, etc.
Belmond's portfolio is quite interesting. They have properties all over the world, operate luxury train services in several countries, own the legendary 21 Club in New York City — needless to say they've got a lot going on. They've managed to establish a fairly coherent brand in the luxury space and it feels like they'll keep getting better and better. The draw here is without a doubt the property though. The rooms are beautiful, the pool is picturesque, and cocktails outside with views of the ocean are ideal.
The restaurant isn't memorable and the fitness area could use more attention - why every luxury hotel doesn't have a Peleton will never cease to confuse me, but overall El Encanto delivers high scores across the board.response / report this review -

The location is high in the hills of Santa Barbara lending to breathtaking views over downtown. Bungalows scattered about the grounds house luxurious rooms with too level amenities. The staff is kind, warm, and eager to accommodate. The Dining Room is elegant and delicious. Spanish revival architecture dominates most of the grounds and the gardens are lush and well maintained. An absolute five-star experience!
