I would give 0 stars as everyone on here states, but u have to give at least one.
My experiences at this hospital have always been terrible. I have lived in Lapeer County for most of my life, and I am 45 years old. Needless to say I have been to this hospital for any serious illness or injury throughout my life. My biggest complaint out of anything is this; when you go into the hospital for pain because Motrin, or Tylenol doesn’t work, why would they send you home with a high dose of Motrin that you are already taking at home? They discharge you without even solving your pain issue, which is what brought you in there in the first place. I get that people abuse the system, but if they took the time to do the MAPS search on me, they would see that I’m not a pain pill abuser. So why punish the people who are actually in pain, by not treating their pain? I don’t get it. You’re a hospital! Do your fricking job! I hope that the doctor that refused to write narcotic pain med prescriptions for me today gets kidney stones (which I found out I have while at the hospital) and you pass those razor sharp bitches with just Motrin 600’s pumping through your body. I will never go there again, and no lady I don’t want to discuss my recent visit with you.
This review is just for the occupational services across the street from the main building. It is run entirely by incompetent people. The lady at the desk has no clue what she’s doing. I went in there to take a drug test for a new job and I was there an hour and a half and no one was called into the back to be seen in that amount of time. There were 6 other patients waiting. After an hour and a half I went to the desk and explained that I had another appointment and would have to leave if not seen soon and inquired how long she estimated it would be. She said there are 2 people ahead of me for testing. I explained no one has been called into the back to be seen in 1 1/2 hours. She just had a confused look on her face and didn’t know what to do. This wasn’t a young woman either. She looked like a seasoned veteran. I expect to wait at doctors offices, but this was unacceptable. I feel bad for the 6 other people that were there before me. Who knows how long they had been waiting?
This clinic I was at was only accessible from the out side at the north west side of the building. Again, This clinic was across the street from the main hospital.
Worst experience (on going). Husband went into ER on Monday evening- still there on Friday and it doesn't sound like they intend to send him home anytime soon. We gave a list of his meds to ER but for some reason, they decided to leave off 2 very important ones and evidently modify his pain medication to double what he was supposed to be taking.
I was reading some reviews and now I'm worried. I went to pre testing and everyone was polite. I'm going in Tues and I hope it will be alright. I had a awful experience at McLaren in Flint. I'm really hoping these doctors and nurses are nicer and sympathetic.
My mom came in yesterday at noon and it has been a horrible experience she has talked to three doctors for about 1 or 2 minuets each and everyone has been very rude!! If I could it would be a 0 start ..will never come back to this hospital if it’s up to me. The only good service they have is the food and nutrition they were the only ones how were nice and night shift nurses.
I give this a 3 because i rate this the birth center 5 stars plus!! They are amazing up there! . But I had my gullbladder surgery a month later .. and I rate that staff a one . They weren't very nice . Poked me 14 times for blood work yes 14 times !!! I almost passed out . The dr ran out of time because he fell behind schedule and schedualed me another surgery the day following ? Really ?? You couldn't do it all at once ?? So big fat one star from me . 5 days in the hospital for gullbladder
Pain clinic is Awful! Rude 95% of the time. Doesn't care about patients. Only "procedures" a.k.a. =$$ Being treated like u have an addiction rather than a legit issue on paper! Down right Appalled! You people make me sick! Negative 10 Stars!!
I just got here 40 minutes ago and I'm already aggravated and about to leave. I'm 34 weeks pregnant and I came here due to cramping and back pain. The ER sent me up to labor and delivery and the women sitting at the desk was extremely rude while asking me my information. I feel extremely uncomfortable since they wouldn't let my daughter or mother come back. Ive been sitting in my room in a gown for a good 25 minutes and still no one has came to assist. I should of read all these reviews before even wasting my time coming here. NEVER AGAIN.
UPDATE: I left the hospital to go elsewhere. That place is an absolute joke. I was literally the only patient on that floor and it took them til I said I was leaving for them to come to the exam room. If you or anyone you know is expecting and delivering there I suggest you rethink your options. And no I will not call you guys to discuss this further. I'm clearly not the only one who thinks this place is trash.
My mother and I took my grandmother there, who is having severe alcohol issues stemmed from psychiatric problems. We called the psychiatric unit and they told us we need to take her to the ER first to get her sober. We drove an hour to do this, because we thought finally some help. Unfortunately, when we got there we were told several times that they are not a detox facility which we understand. The nurse Kayla and John were extremly helpful and understanding. They were truly doing what they could to help. Dr. Ditchman on the other hand was EXTREMELY rude and VERY disrespectful. I am a social worker in training and if I ever found out a doctor treated my patients and their families they way he did I would report him. He talked down to my 74 year old grandmother, my mother and I. He did nothing to help her and told us if we didn't take her he would throw her on the streets. In the end he made the situation worse. This hospital NEEDS a social worker or psychologist on hand at all times. Dr. Ditchman needs to be evaluated on his social skills. His attitude, tone and body language towards patients is disgusting.
I went there for the same problem I had before. Last time I was treated good tonight they wanted me in and out! Didn't even check my blood for infection. Did nothing and probably made a ton of money off it. This is the second time I've had problems with this Dr in the 2 years I lived here! Something need to be done. Dr Kirk down does not do his job!! Just writes scripts! Last time I received an IV with antibiotics, blood work! What I have is serious. He wrote on my discharge papers that I was in here for something totally different. Slacking because its the holiday weekend and he's got to work? Absolutely! To McLaren I'd like a call or I'll be calling you. Then to top it off the cleaning lady comes in and tells me I need to hurry and get dressed so she can clean the roomthat was the icing on the cake. I asked to speak to a higher up. She said that's how the Dr felt he should treat youha he didn't even touch me or take my blood or my cup of piss. I have it to show whom ever I speak to on Tuesday about how I was treated in this hospital. Next time I will drive all the way to Flint and use Hurley hospital! I will be getting a second opinion and if this Dr diagnosed me wrong you will have a law suit on your hands! I can't wait. You need a whole new staff. So my Dr didn't do his job, the mgr didn't do her job and the cleaning lady needs a new job!!! I'm so angry and I will be following up with a real Dr that actually treats you properly! Then I'll persue with medical malpractice! I do not recommend this hospital at all. The only reason I go here is because it's closer than flint . Never again,I suggest you don't go here either. The staff is completely rude and don't do their job!!! Dr. Kirk Down is a joke..I pray no one has to see him. This facility need to be shut down.
2 diffrent times. For my kids under 8 years old. They are rude. They can not read X Ray. Both times. Went someplace else next day. Bones we're broken. Lapeer said they didn't know. Never go there!!! Iv done my research. Its what everyone says. If you get hurt cross the county line before call 911. That way you can go elsewhere.
My mom is an alcoholic and this review is not against the hospital but rather Dr. John Ditchman. I asked to speak with him privately about options to get her help, and he was not willing to talk to me without her present. I understand HIPPA laws. But this is not that. I am disgusted and the only thing he had to say was that he worked in Detroit and has seen it all. Well I hope he sees this and helps the next daughter of an alcoholic better than he helped me.
My dad has been a patient there for a week now and the third floor nursing staff on 3/28/17 were very rude to my mother. She was leaving the hospital and my dads (male) nurse ask my mom if she was leaving and then proceeded to make fun of her, which he got all of the other nursing staff to get involved in. The nurse aide was the only one to tell them to stop. If this is the kind of people this hospital employs I would rather go somewhere else. I would not have gave this hospital a star but yuo have to mark one of them to be able to post.
Had to have lithotripsy done for kidney stones. The staff was very helpful and very kind. Made having the surgery done much more tolerable.
I had a complaint with Lapeer Mclaren Hospital over a billing charge! I was charged 12,000 dollars in just hospital charges to sit in triage after a dizzy spell. Even tho I am appalled at the charges, I am VERY grateful to Jan Nixon in her professionalism in taking my compliant. I will be happy to remove my compliant and offer my sincerest apology if this matter is resolved!
With that said, Those with private insurance, please be aware that Lapeer doesn't have many on staff specialist and often "outsources" their specialist to groups like "Inpatient consultants of Michigan and Lapeer Neurology". Be prepared to get additional bills on top of what Mclaren Lapeer charges.
