This hospital is horrible, for the ER services. Run far away and the PA"s there do not know what they are saying, sound confused. Also I know that the staff are human beings and need breaks, to eat and use the restroom, I do get it. But if you wait 9 hours to be seen by a doctor you don't expect the doctor to come in for 13 seconds with their mouth full. Dr A (female), run. Overall a horrible experience.
Health care is not what it use to be especially for legitimate reasons for being there, when you usually avoid the hospitals.response / report this review -

Last year I was in a car accident that should have been fatal. I was first taken to McLaren Macomb in Mt. Clemens where they did not take care of me properly and tried to release me well before I was in decent enough shape to go home. I was then transported to Troy Beaumont Hospital and put onto floor 7 West, Inpatient Rehabilitation, and stayed there for a month. They took amazing care of me and I couldn’t be any more thankful for all their help. They taught me how to walk again, and helped me get back on my feet and regain my independence. Without them, I wouldn’t be here today. Due to the way they changed my life, I have decided to focus my education towards the medical field. Every business has had a mad day or two where they aren’t on top of their game, but I would recommend giving it another chance. If you or a loved one are looking for care that is heart felt, I would recommend Troy Beaumont.

I went to the ER on a Sunday with what I thought was pneumonia. I was put in a room almost immediately and admitted shortly after. Every Beaumont employee I came in contact with over my 3 day stay at the hospital was thorough, friendly, and beyond helpful. During my stay, I had to have multiple exams, X-rays, and ultrasounds to narrow down exactly what I had, and there was no having to leave to go some place else to have it done. Their doctors, radiology staff, nurses, nursing assistants, and even the housekeeping staff are all top notch! While I definitely don't enjoy spending time in the hospital, I was treated like family while I was there and would go back in a heartbeat.

I wish I could give ZERO stars! HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE hospital!! Having been to Beaumont Royal Oak, I assumed that the standard of care and treatment of patients would be similar - boy, was I wrong! I have been in and out of a few hospitals and can honestly say that Troy Beaumont is, by far, the WORST I've ever visited! I am a very sickly person and have had numerous surgeries (which should all be saved in Beaumont's system considering I've had all but ONE surgery through Beaumont). Recently, I had an incident at work where I passed out, struck my head on a counter full of glass dishes and had a severe seizure. Without knowing what was going on, I was taken by ambulance to the nearest hospital (which happened to beyou guessed itTroy Beaumont). My entire face was covered in bruises, my eyes swollen from the trauma, my forehead had dozens of shards of glass embedded in it, and I was bleeding so profusely from my face that I was choking on my own blood. Upon arrival, I began to regain consciousness when they cut off my clothes and my apron (I was a waitress at the time). In my apron they found money (from tips I had received throughout the course of the day and the day prior, as I was pulling a double shift) as well as my cell phone, a pen and paper (for taking food orders) and my prescribed pain medication from a recent surgery at Beaumont that I had put into a container that was labelled for specific dosing (so I knew exactly what time I needed to take my medication). While they were cutting my clothes off and SCREAMING at me to answer questions (mind you, I had just suffered a major seizure and had yet to regain motor skills), I overheard a doctor talking to a nurse about the contents in my apron. The nurse asked the doctor "what's this?" and the doctor replied "oh those are opiates. She probably bought them off the street for about $5 each, or she's a dealer which would explain the cash she has and the pen and paper in her apron." I was completely dumbfounded. They had picked me up via ambulance AT WORK, not the streets and if they had LOOKED at their system, would have known that the medication I was taking WAS LEGITIMATE and prescribed by one of THEIR OWN physicians!!! After that, I began to come to, but was treated HORRIBLY by the staff. I was labelled a "drug seeker" and denied ANY pain medication for HOURS! When I say hours, I mean approximately 6 to 7! They even had a nurse pull the shards of glass from my face and stitch up my gaping wounds with nothing! Not even a Tylenol! When they FINALLY saw the CT results and realized that I had severely broken a bone in my face which could quite possibly require surgery, they told me they would "give me something for pain". They didn't tell me WHAT they were giving me, and AFTER the nurse administered the medication, I learned that it was FENTANYL!! Can you believe it?! Almost instantly, my blood pressure spiked, my heart rate climbed, and I BEGGED them for an anti-anxiety medication to counteract the hallucinations. Since I was a "drug seeker", they refused. I was placed in a room next to the nurses station where I could hear them talk about me, as I was the butt of all of their jokes while hallucinating and going into severe panic mode. How humiliating! I was so disgusted by their neglect, I refuse to go back..even if it IS the closest hospital during an emergency. Obviously I was NOT a drug seeker, but even if someone who has an addiction comes in with serious bodily injury, they shouldn't be denied pain medication, or be made a fool of simply because they had an accident and truly needed medical attention.

They push you out of the hospital before it's healthy to leave. Twice sent home less than 24 hours after major surgery, no follow up. Surgeons are good, floor nurses and nursing assistants are good. Food is terrible.

This place is excellent. I ended up needing my appendix out after having gone two days without treatment. By the time I came to Beaumont, I was in shock. I came to the emergency room very frightened. I was seen in less than ten minutes. Every single person from admitting , to the nurses and the doctors themselves were excellent! I have told many people about how wonderful this hospital is and recommended Beaumont Troy several times!

I brought my two year old daughter in for an emergency, and she had to stay for a couple of days. The pediatric ward nurses and staff were so helpful, attentive, and friendly to my child, and even us, her parents. They did anything to help keep all of us comfortable and secure. I couldn't have asked for better caretakers. I can't express how grateful we are to them.

I gave birth to my son here..THEY NEED TO BRING BACK THE NURSERY FOR MOTHER'S TO RECOVER. before I get into the details of my visit, let me please make note that the nursing staff was absolutely FANTASTIC. They were all extremely helpful and attempted to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
However, I can’t honestly say that our visit was completely positive. Although the facilities, staff, and overall care were stellar, we feel that the process is flawed. We were told that back in 2015 the nursery was removed to promote a more “realistic” birthing experience, which we knew about due to the tour. However, we feel that having the nursery readily available for situations such as mine (High Blood Pressure, C-Section, etc) would have promoted a more positive recovery process. I was unable to get out of bed to care for my new baby (first one), help my husband (thank goodness he was there), or learn about breastfeeding due to mobility restrictions (side effects of the medicine).
Understanding that the treatment can’t be changed, but allowing the patients to heal or recover without being constantly bombarded every hour on the hour should be considered. We finally got a window to get some rest when our son fell asleep, only to have a solicitor call to sell a breast pump (which I already had one), a lactation specialist walk in and ignore the fact that we were sleeping only to continue her instruction, and various others ignoring the DO NOT DISTURB SIGN on the door. Nursing staff and doctors we get as mandatory, but other members of the staff or consultants/contractors need to understand that means DO NOT ENTER.
As I mentioned before, we are grateful for the nursing staff and comfortable facilities, just wish that the recovery process would have been more enjoyable.response / report this review -

Just gave birth to my little girl last night. Highly recommend this hosptial to go to for giving birth. Very clean, private big rooms, professional and wonderful staff. Had a little problems with being stuck 5 times for an IV but, I was very dehydrated, so it was a little understandable. The Nurses in Labor and Delivery (Angela and Brenda specifically) were absolutely amazing and very caring and supporting. It really shows that they love their job and it makes a difference when you have them on your side going through such a scary difficult thing. Also, pediatric was great as well. Very knowledgeable and is taking extra precautions in making sure our baby is going to be okay. Thank you everyone!

Took my almost 2 year old here for a second degree burn from scalding hot water. After he was admitted they saw him right away. I thought we were getting great service, but I was wrong. A team of doctors saw him immediately, but after consulting one another they told us there was nothing they could do. That would have been fine if we were allowed to leave and take him to another hospital, but they wouldn't let us. They explained to us that we must stay and wait for an ambulance to transfer him to another hospital. When I said I can easily take him, they said, "no, it is our responsibility and if you take him we will contact CPS." So after being threatened we felt forced to do whatever they said. I don't know if it is a tactic they use to drum up business for the ambulance provider or maybe some loophole in Michigan law, but they make you feel powerless to do anything even when you feel as if your rights are being violated. The ambulance driver then assured us we wouldn't see a bill since it's the hospitals responsibility to see that the child receives care. He cited flight risk as the reason. I reminded him that I brought him to hospital in the first place. I did calm down after that, but I still felt uneasy about the whole thing.
Yes, as I could have guess, the ambulance bill showed up about a month after his visit. In the end we paid a hefty bunch of bills and wasted 4 hours for them to nothing (baby crying the whole time).
TLDR - Inexcusable tactics / inadequate facility.response / report this review -

Not good. My daughter went in with a migraine at 1:00, and the meds they gave her didn't work, so they moved her into the hall with bright lights and waited over an hour just to see the doctor again. 8 hours for a migraine.

Checked into the ER here at 7am. They told me a doctor would be by at 9am, didn't see one until 11:30. Didn't see a nurse a single time, and they did not allow me to keep my bag and phone with me. Havent seen anyone at all in 5 hours.
So basically I sat in a room alone for 10 hours while they kept my stuff and got absolutely no help. Terrible.response / report this review -

NO stars. This place is terrible. I was admitted at 1pm today and after multiple tests they found nothing. Ive been here multiple times and the doctors are always rude. Dr. Dennis was particularly condescending and not helpful. I was in excruciating pain and after 7 hours, no pain medication. I came in with nausea and no nausea medication was given either. This place is a mortuary, not a hospital. Do not come here!
