This place was pretty gross. The floor was gross and the bathroom didnt have any toliet paper. My drink was 15 bucks and barely had any alcohol in it. The DJ played more slow jams than dance music. I wouldn't go back.
Bad sound system. Horrible lines for concerts. They had a separated out and the people behindus managed to get ahead. It was a very bad experience.
Overall negative experience from before I even got in the door. Security and bartenders are crooked, if you could even call them "security", as I witnessed them spending most of their time harassing patrons and doing virtually zero "security" things.
While waiting in line to get into a recent show the door man spent an excessive amount of time harassing the party at the front of the line. When he asked one of the men to remove everything from his pockets (standard procedure of a door man from what I understand) it was presumed that his vaporizer contained marijuana and after a mild exchange of words the door man told the guy to come see him personally after the show to retrieve his property. The next female in line was told to "take a big hit" from her vaporizer and blow it in his face, then asked if she had a boyfriend. In light of recent shootings and gang activity at the Jacksonville Landing, as well as other violent incidents around the world targeting crowds of people, as a concertgoer I expect that security be patting people down for weapons or things that are an actual, real security issue, not trying to catch a buzz on the job. I later witnessed this door man and another security guy just outside the venue taking turns hitting a vaporizer that looked strikingly similar to the one I saw him confiscate in line.
Throughout the night the bartenders couldn't seem to agree at all on the prices of beverages as I and my buddy paid different amounts for the same drinks from different bartenders several times.
The back door security guy demanded $5 to let me step outside to smoke a cigarette.
During the last band's performance security began shining flashlights on the crowd and at the band, and there was a clear visual exchange of the middle finger from the bassist to the security guy flashing him from the balcony. It was never clear why they broke out the flashlights, as I never saw anyone fighting or doing anything illegal or concerning.
And just like other reviews suggest, the bathrooms are filthy and disgusting, only half the sink faucets worked while the rest were missing or broken off hanging in the bowl, and they deliberately refuse to fill the soap and paper towel dispensers so the old troll sitting in the corner listening to everyone piss and fart all night can squirt soap into your palm and hand you a paper towel in hopes of a tip.
If I could give this business a "0" star rating I would. Each time I've been here for a show the experience has progressively gotten worse and worse. This was my last time dealing with such an unprofessional, crooked, distracting staff at this venue. My friends and I won't be giving our business to Mavericks again and I'd much rather drive to Orlando, or even Atlanta, to see my favorite bands.
Unfriendly security, disorganized staff and management. They need to stick to being a line dance bar. I loathe this place the more that I go there.
I never got my refund for the July 14, 2016 show that was a reschedule show from April 1, 2016. Order C3807FD9I sent numerous emails and telephone calls and they told me that they had a new ticket handler even though my receipt came from Mavericks and I have no way of figuring out who took my money
They probably won't post this one!! The sounds system is pathetic. We couldn't even understand Beres Hammond singing songs that we've song to for twenty yrs!!! The bathrooms were nasty. Lastly, nowhere on my ticket or on their advertisement did it mention that there would be NO seating, except VIP!! Who wants to drive 2 hrs, and stand for 5 hrs only to have to drive back for 2 hrs with their ears ringing? I won't EVER go back to MAVERICKS! !
I've been there twice and had horrible experiences with security both times. First time was at a concert and the security was overly touchy when it came to being patted down. They would even smirk in your face while doing it. The woman's bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. There was water and toilet paper all over the floor, but no toilet paper in the stalls. There was even a bathroom attendant sitting in this filth, but doing nothing about it. The second time was at GlowRage. I was thrown out because the group I was with were supposedly selling lasers. The funny thing is one of the security guards told my friend that if he gave him a laser he could still play with them in the club so he was given one. About ten minutes later he was back strong arming him for another laser. About an hour before they closed they were being strong armed yet again for another one. When he wouldn't give them anything else we got kicked out. While leaving I was asking for the name of the man escorting us out which he wouldn't give. I asked the man at the door for the guys name which he was about to give until the man escorting us out told him not to. I posted a review on their Facebook page where a man named Nate Wilson argued with me about the situation just further proving my point that the employees they have representing them are not competent at all. Besides the decent concerts they occasionally have this establishment is not worth wasting your money on. If you're looking for a night club there are way better options than Mavericks. I would give zero stars if it was an option.
Been to a few concerts here and it's a great venue, very nice and clean bathrooms and the attendant is so sweet! Nice bartenders too
Horrible experience. So boring. Went on a Saturday night and there was only a few people there. They advertised for girls get in free if they wear Daisy dukes and sexiest contest for $250 dollars. I wore the whole outfit and had to pay to get in and they didn't even hold the contest. What a joke. Never coming back.
No good beer, floors so sticky that people are losing shoes, playing underground rap during a prog metal show, annoying tip beggars in the restroom, they're dragging pallets of ice across the GA floor while people are on it, and the first band didn't start until an hour after doors. Giving 2 stars because my bartender seemed like a cool dude
Came in on a Saturday expecting line dancing and country music, but instead all I got was hip hop. Used to come here all the time, but I feel like tonights the the last night. RIP Mavericks.
