We had a departmental reserved seated luncheon at Blue Fish. The service was not up to the 20% added to a table with 7 or more people. The food was good, however when the service is poor the food becomes second. We were there for approximately two hours and I had to ask for a water refill as did the majority of the people at our table. There were several other groups having social events and very limited servers observed during our entire stay. If the establishment is going to be reserved tables charged 20% for groups of 7 or larger, please make sure there is adequate staff to support sufficient and timely service to each table.

We came here with a very large party and we were not all that pleased with the food or the speed of service. It took forever to get our checks and there were smokers that came outside where we were sitting and refused to stop. This is a restaurant. You don't smoke in a restaurant! We have asthmatics in the family. The calamari was good. The andouille beans and sausage were not good. We felt the portions were small for the cost.

Only here for brunch. Unlimited mimosas were a joke. Flat and too much orange juice. (Don’t premix the mimosas!) The cold bar was ok. Deviled eggs were probably made yesterday. Service would be better with a different server. Food was good.

Really impressed with Blue fish. Tried it for the first time this weekend and all the appetizers and entrees we had were fantastic. Split pricing for 4oz/8oz fish entrees felt a little unbalanced - a 6oz priced somewhere in the middle would have been perfect for us. Really nice atmosphere, outside/inside seating and excellent food made for an awesome evening. Will certainly be back!

I found this place using Google Maps because I was out of town on business. Because it was my birthday I thought I would treat myself and my nephew, that I work with, to a nice seafood restaurant.

I must say, this is one of my top five restaurants that I’ve ever eaten at. The service was outstanding and the food was second to none. Everything was fresh and delicious.

I was telling the waiter and subsequently the manager that I had served overseas in the military. I had a chance to dine in Seville, Spain at a similar outdoor restaurant. The food at the Bluefish rivaled anything that I was served there.

I love this place. We were visiting from Atlanta. We came for the happy hour. Great deals!!! Food was good and drinks were good. Jen was our server and she was absolutely amazing that we had to come see her twice. I will be back.

I've eaten at this Restaurant numerous times since 2010 and I have never ever experienced any of these negative reviews that I am reading! I have ordered all of their oysters, and most of their food! It's one of the best places for quality food in Jax! I don't know anyone at this business nor have I been paid for my review! I have brought friends and family who didn't know about Blue Fish and told them to order the steak or Sea bass and we all think it's better than Ruth Chris! My suggestion to all of you with negative reviews is to try it out one more time. I can't imagine you being disappointed when I have taken over 100 people to try Blue Fish and they all love it!

Went for dinner and didn't make reservations (our fault). They said it would be about 20 mins (typical restaurant answer) or we could est upstairs. Not ever been here before we said sure. Get upstairs and go to sit at one of 2 empty tables, a server comes over and says, "these two tables are reserved" (no signs on them or anything). Back downstairs and hostesses don't have a clue.
Said we could sit outside out back, under their awning. Sure..they sit us under the LEAKING awning (to which she replies, "oh") which my daughter uses her water glass to catch the drops. Then they allowed some patron to come out there and smoke, which quickly drifts into mine and my families faces.
Needless to say we walked out..
Had never eaten there before and can guarantee we won't ever be trying to eat there again.

sunday brunch is the time to hit this place! It has so many amazing options and a great spread of unlimited goodies that come with the meal! A little pricey so bring some extra money, however well worth it! Will always come back!

First things first- The Blue Fish has raw oysters on special for $5.99/doz. twice a week. That's pretty much unbeatable!

Overall, good food, a little high priced, and long wait, but the oyster special alone was enough reason to bring me back!

    Pros:

-Good, cheap oysters. Fresh crackers and great cocktail sauce, too.
-Locally sourced catch of the day.
-Large enough menu; anyone should be able to find something they like.

    Cons:

    -Price, except for the oysters.
    -Wait time.
-Unprofessional manager giving friends preference (see below)
-The entree I ordered (snapper, catch of the day) was a little bland.
    - Stone crab claws, while tasty, looked like they had been smashed with a sledgehammer rather than properly cracked. It was difficult to find and remove all the tiny pieces of shell.

I went on a Wednesday and the wait for a party of 2 was about 45 minutes. The restaurant, including bar area, was full- that's a good sign. I did notice two young women who looked like they thought they were too good to follow the rules come in after me, wait around in the bar about 20 minutes, and decide they didn't want to wait for a seat to open- so they asked the hostess if they could count the time spent in the bar to skip ahead on the wait list. They were initially told no, but then a manager came and sat them prior to my party. They appeared to know someone
