Ate there New Years eve 2017. Wonderful time, as we waited on the rest of our party we waited at the bar Margarita and makers 22.00 drinks were fantastic strong worth the money the 2 bartenders were very enjoyable. Once seated the great service continued. The food to die for all fresh seafood. And desert finished us with a chocolate cake grandma wishes she could make.
I was concerned after a couple reviews I read but I Grew with the good ones. Yes it was a tad pricey but I knew this going in. Worth every nickel spent and a great place to end your year.
Sad excuse for a restaurant, a work Christmas party turned into a disaster. We had a party of 12 that was suppose to be a party of 20. As u can see the place was a ghost town . Instead of having all 12 people be return customers, none of us will be back . They charged us for the folks that did not come $30, a plate. I would understand if the food was prepared ahead of time or if we held someone’s table up . There was a better way to handle this situation. The sad thing is they had server handle the situation , no manager. The food was very mediocre, there are too many other great restaurants in Jacksonville to waste your time here .
Food was ok but when we went to my wife's work party they asked about how many people were coming. The person in charge said around 20. Come time to pay, only 12 showed up due to working long shifts in the health care industry. The so called nice restaurant pressured the group to pay for the 6 no shows even though the group ordered 6 extra appetizers. To top it off the food was not ready ahead of time to justify the 6 empty chair fee at $20 per chair. The place was like a ghost town when we arrived and with this treatment it will continue to be. DON'T SUPPORT THIS RESTAURANT. Go to Crawford's Steak House nearby.
Amazing Food && Amazing Service !!
UPDATE: So It's December 18th && Of Course The Food Is Still Great But We Leave Early Because There Is A Spider On The Centerpiece On Our Table. The Manager Or Something Like That Uses His Hand To Remove The Spider Then We Ask For Take Out Boxes. He Immediately Ask To Take Our Food && We're Like Wait ?? Where Is The Spider ?? I Look && The Spider Is Now On The Table By My 4yr Olds Arm . He Plated Our Food && Seemed Confused Because I Asked Where Did The Spider Go But Question Is Did You Wash Your Hands Guy ??
Just left following a delicious, generously proportioned meal with drinks served in a classy river-view atmosphere by prompt, well-groomed, courteous and attentive staff at a fair price.
Due to a recent hurricane, a faint redolence of fish market greets you in the vestibule and otherwise immaculate restrooms, but is otherwise absent in the main dining room - hence, the missing star. Management has been vigorously protesting this minor detail to the landlord, but I wouldn’t let that dissuade you from enjoying a fine meal at Benny’s.
My fiancé and I went tonight for the first time, for our 4 year anniversary. Our server was Terri who is also the bartender. She was amazing! I ordered the New Orleans Chicken and my fiancé ordered the Seafood Linguine. It was literally the most delicious meal we have ever eaten at any restaurant hands down! We will definitely be coming back!!!
Amazing food and service. Couldn't have asked for better service.
Update: Second time here. Once again I am shocked at the exceptional service and care. Terry and Christian have both been absolutely fantastic and accommodating. The food and drinks were beyond par. I would give more stars if I could!

Great meal in a really neat location. Fresh mahi, shrimp parm to die for. Jambalaya was delish. Try the Mardi Gras. Great attentive service.
Slow service. Mandatory 20% tip. Over priced. Disorganized. I don't see what anyone else could possibly like about this poorly managed, tacky, overpriced restaurant
Excellent service. Great server. Food prepared with a touch of class. Tasty. Nice placed on plate. Included decor.
Decided to give this place a shot because it was walking distance to our hotel. Let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint. We we're seated quickly with a river view and our server Phillip was prompt, knowledgeable and had a quirky humor about him I appreciated. The food was hands down amazing. I had the ribeye with a lobster tail and my husband had shrimp spaghetti. Both left us wanting more. Portions were a good size and our bill was so affordable for a steak and seafood restaurant. If you plan to visit Jacksonville make sure you treat yourself to dinner here.
The service was slow on a Tuesday at noon. We ate outside, next to the St. Johns River. I ordered a mahi sandwich with fries. My meal totallyed $12.95, including a soft drink. The fish had been previously frozen and was dry and mealy when it was served. By the time I was served, the sandwich was just room temperature - not hot enough. The fries were good but not exceptional. I would not recommend Benny's Steak and Seafood to anyone.
