I always miss good Austin Telmex. Outside the State everything gets bland. Not so for Maudies. Breakfast is amazing

Aside from the terrible male host who let us walk right up to his stand without so much as a hi, this place has good service, prices, chips and salsa. Food came out quick and piping hot. Very tasty entrees, great mango marg and ice cold beer. We will come back to Maudie’s, just maybe not this location.

Great food, great service, what more can you ask for.
One of a few places that take care of Gluten Free issues correctly and appreciate your business. Thanks Maudie's!!

I enjoyed the food, they have very good fajitas, just don't order the nachos kind of overpriced for what you get. Didn't make them not good, those nachos were really good, you just didn't get very many for a $11 combination fajita nachos. But this place is usually very busy, very trendy, and if there's a wait you can go next door to the Goodwill, and take a look around while you're waiting on your table. Not lowered car-friendly getting in, and out of the parking lot. And not a whole lot of room to park. But if you can find a parking spot, it's well worth stopping in and having lunch.

Always good consistant food and drinks, minor wait during peak times. My regular stop after a golf round.

Generic Mexican food. The reason im giving one star is because i saw five employees eatibg while walking the main floor serving people. When i asked the server he laughed and said "we wash our hands" Literally watched every single employee touch customers plates and glasses without washing. Its disgusting, unappetizing, unprofessional, and against health code.

I've been at other Maudies and was very happy. Not so much today. Service was very slow, it took about 15 minutes just to get our drink order. It was almost an hour (from when we got there) before we got our food. Then when we did get our food I was very disappointed in the taste. Overall just disappointed in this location.

Went for breakfast and service was really bad. Waitress came by the table to take our order then didn't show up again til after our food had arrived. During that time we and many other tables around us had empty drink glasses, empty tortilla baskets and empty salsa. Some people even got up on their own to grab a pitcher of tea or water to fill their own glasses! And of course during this time there were three employees clustered around the welcome pedestal just talking amongst themselves and doing nothing. Really frustrating because this place used to be my local neighborhood go to since 1996. Fast and good service was the cornerstone of what Maudie's good. This was shockingly bad.

Terrible. Guacamole was terrible. Filled with mayo or some other filler. No taste to the tostados . Very disappointing visit. Will not be back. Server was nice. That was the good part.

I ordered an iced tea & they told me that they only had unsweet so they have me an unsweet tea with a dirty spoon in the glass.. The food is good though but after what happened, I don't trust their food as much anymore

I'm from out of town so we chanced upon Maudie's on 7th St. The Power Bowl Salads (I upgraded to the fajita chicken & my husband had the Mahi Mahi) were really excellent. The mix of flavors were complex with a little Jalapeno Ranch dressing. The bowls had very little salad, but it tasted so good, I didn't care. The music was too loud for my taste, but that didn't take away from the 5 stars.

I've been going to Maudies since the laundromat was next door. My wife and I love the place (or did). It's our favorite TexMex and the service used to be fast and efficient . . . so that's why I'm taking the time to comment. Past two times we've been have not been good. Really slow service and not attentive. First time . . . yeah, sometimes that happens. Tonight was a two hour ordeal. Can't believe I was thinking of getting up and leaving. I really thought the waitperson must have checked out. To make it worse, we were seated outside and the ceiling heater was baking us. Way too hot (yeah, it sounds like I'm a complainer . . . ). I asked the waitstaff to turn down the heat . . . "we can't, it's wired in with the Christmas lights, I'd have to turn off the lights to turn down the heater". Huh?

C'mon Maudies, please get back to what you used to be.

Been going to Tarrytown Maudie's off and on for 2 years. Dine in experience is ok but not great.
The last two to go orders were the worst ever. After the first bad experience I figured I would give it another try.
My crispy taco consisted of a stale broken shell with a small portion of meat on the side.
The carne guisado tacos consisted of a small portion of gravy with a 3-4 small tough pieces of meat.
Do NOT order any to go items or you will be sadly disappointed

Good fun for two thee or four. Awesome selection for those allergic to glutes, i.e. gluten free tortilla chips. Always delicious. Never leave hungry. Muy enchiladas!!!!

Original location for native Austin Mexican food cafe. Good margaritas and tex /mex. This place gets crowded so taking a ride share (whoever we have now) is a good idea.
