I've been a fan of catfish since I started eating solid foods. Don't believe I've ever had catfish as delicious as the catfish served at Clear Springs. They have it fried, blackened, pan-searedall moist, flaky and yummy. They have some of the best shrimp brochette as well. I don't even live in NB. I drive the extra distance because the only option local is red lobster and compared to Clear Springs, that's like eating at a soup kitchen.

Always great food, awesome appetizers! The stingers are awesome and the onion rings are awesome! Although they are known for their onion rings and fish..i love to go there for their 14 oz. Ribeye! Actually went yesterday, was the first time my steak was cut different, thick and thin so some areas were well, others mediumI ordered rare I hate to send thing's back,so my husband and I split it but that was a very rare disappointment there!
    The staff is always friendly!

We go out and eat often, once a week at least. Clear Springs has had the best service of any restaurant we've ever been to. The restaurant itself has nice decor and a good view if you sit on the balcony. The staff themselves are extremely courteous. The servers check on their tables often. Which is a nice change of pace from the norm restaurant of checking once or twice (maybe). I would recommend this to anybody and everybody 5☆ A+++ Love this place.

This casual restaurant is housed in a historic building and serves seafood, as well as standard American favorites like burgers and chicken fried steak. We started the onion rings and they were delicious; lightly battered and fried to perfection. I followed that up with coconut shrimp and oysters. They were served with coleslaw, beans, seasoned fries and hushpuppies. Needless to say we took boxes home. I enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the service. My only regret was we were too full to try any of the dessert! I know we'll be back soon!

The shrimp and fish we're fresh and well prepared, very good. The onion rings are excellent, the best anywhere. The side dishes we're so so. Coleslaw though not watery had no taste beans the same. Others at my table had various salads which were lovely and very good. The service was beyond excellent. Have eaten here since the '70's, guess I'll keep going!!! Oh, peach cobbler to die for

Love the environment. Servers were great also. The 2 star rating is due to the unwillingness to acomodate my shell fish allergy. I am a big fan of fried cat fish. They advertise that their cat fish is the best. Excited about this so I order the catfish and mention my allergy. They state that they fry it with their shell fish and will not cook it separate. Truly disappointing only place I have ever been to that refused to help me. Though it's not recommended I had to try a small piece to satisfy my urge and curiosity of this famous fried catfish. Sad to report it but there was nothing special about the fish or onion rings. Two hours north of here there is a little place that claims to be home of the "Big O". If you want good fish and onion rings head that way.

Had the catfish. Fillets were thin, very salty, overcooked and tough. I'm told it's not normally like that. Manager comped one meal. Pinto beans were awesome. Coleslaw is sweet and finely chopped; not a fan. Wait staff did great at first but attentiveness dropped off after a short time. Had to get up for tea refills myself. Rustic atmosphere was nice. Not sure if I want to go back though.

I had Firecracker Salmon with garlic mashed potatoes, and hush puppies. I haven't eaten here in 12 years. The food delicious. My husband had the Shrimp Trio and said it was excellent. Our guest had chicken fried steak with green beans and garlic mashed potatoes. He said it was delicious and took half his steak home. Tea was Great! I will be back. Can't say that about many NB restaurants.

This is one of our go to places. Have offered to take my wife to fancy expensive places and she wants to go here. Catfish and onion rings are simply the bestperiod. We take all our out of town guests here so they can experience a genuine Texas experience. If you are visiting from out of state, eat here at least once..you may have to wait but it is worth it.

Great food. Had the grilled tilapia with lemon butter sauce. Very good. Their onion rings are really good. Good service from our waitress even though it was busy.

We've been coming here for as long as I can remember (15+ years). The catfish, onion rings, fried shrimp, coleslaw, fried oysters & hush puppies are consistently delicious. We never really order anything else because we can't get passed the aforementioned choices. Delicious! Great flavor! Friendly service! If you've never been heremake a point to get here soon.

Family style dining in an old dance hall or barn with plenty of antique signs and memorabilia. Plenty of waitstaff. Good catfish baskets with hush puppies, fries and cole slaw were all very good. Can be very busy during prime time. Drinks- beer, wine and liquor are available. Have been many time and will continue to go.
