I have taken two classes here thus far for licensing. They are great! Leading up to the event they are on point with reminders and during the event they are great as well! Mass Firearms School has a very high quality feel! I would highly recommend.
Great class. This range is a good place for people of all levels of gun knowledge. From novice to expert they have it all. Awesome pro shop for all your needs. Looking forward to getting a membership.
Concealed Carry I is an excellent class to take before making the decision whether or not to carry a firearm. Mac did a great job covering deadly force law, what one needs to do the prepare and train as well as what the logical next steps are before carrying a concealed firearm. I don't know why this course isn't a mandatory requirement in obtaining a Mass. License To Carry! As usual MFS is a great facility to learn and enjoy shooting.
Went here for my basic safety course. Was very happy with the detail in the presentation. Live fire was great as well. Kinda wished they passed the dummy gun around more to get a feel for it more. But other than that I highly recommend them.
My wife and I took the 4 hour Fire Arms Safety course on Saturday 02/03/2018. We were surprised at how many instructors there were working with people. The class size was fairly small and our instructor Dan Donahue was great. Very informative regarding Mass gun laws. Very thorough technical and safety demonstrations that showed us how to safely and confidently handle a fire arm. I would recommend this course for anyone looking to apply for the LTC class A license.
Our instructor Mac was great! He was very informative and very professional. The class setting was comfortable & clean, you knew you were in a gun range with the practice shots going off in the distance. I can't wait to take my next class!
I recently completed the Basic Firearms class here and I was very impressed. The instructor was very knowledgeable, the facility was well kept, and the one on one attention given during the live fire was great. I am so happy I chose to complete my class at this school and I plan on returning for other classes to become better. I didn’t feel out of place or treated any differently because I am a woman, which I appreciated. It was a very comfortable and welcoming environment.
I recently attended the introduction to shooting hand guns and rifles course. Prior to the course I had never shot a gun or rifle at a target. The instructor provided clear direction in a safe environment on how to handle the gun. Starting with verifying the gun is not loaded. He showed us the proper grip and stressed the importance of how not to hurt yourself. We then practiced aiming an unloaded gun with a lazer sight for accuracy. After 15 minutes of instruction we went to the range. Ear and eye protection were supplied and required to wear prior to entering the range. I then proceeded to fire 9 shots with a 9mm and 10 with a revolver. To my surprise I hit center target on all but 2 shots. Next I shot 10 rounds each with 2 rifles. Again after a quick lesson I hit center target on almost every shot. The instructor Conner was both helpful and courteous.
The basic firearms safety class was great-- the teacher was very knowledgeable and I felt safe throughout the class. I had taken the same class several years ago at a different school and they had us loading firearms with live ammunition almost right away. I liked that at mass firearms, they had several instructors helping students to load and unload the firearms with non-live ammunition initially. The facility is also brand new and very clean, and the range has a good ventilation system. It was definitely worth the drive from Boston. I would take another class with them again in the future.
My husband and I had a great date night at Mass Firearms where we were introduced to 4 different guns in the Introduction to shooting handguns and rifles class. Our instructor, Brendan, was informative, knowledgeable and very encouraging. He not only focused on safety, but also ensured that we had a great experience. He certainly put my nerves at ease as this was my first time even touching a gun. We truly enjoyed ourselves and felt secure the entire time. I definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for this experience. They hit the target with the personable instructors and intriguing content and hands on respectful, fun!
I took a class with 3 other people and we had such a great time! Our instructor was awesome, he was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot and made me feel very comfortable! Thank you so much for a great experience! I will definitely be going back!
Basic Firearms Safety class was great. Instruction was clear, direct, and well-delivered. Filled the 4 hours without an issue. Wish there was a little more firearms handling and live fire, but I do understand it's just a basic class. Luckily I had firearms experience prior to the class, so it wasn't too big of a deal.
Facility is also really nice.
I looked through the pro shop and was impressed. Despite MFS being quite a ways from my home, I'll definitely consider going back for follow-on training, firearms purchases, and possibly a membership.
My friends and I did the introduction to firearms class (found out about it from Groupon) and it was amazing. The service was extremely professional and friendly. The trainers walked us through all the safety elements of handling a gun, and assisted with everything. It was an excellent experience that I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to try something new.
It was great getting to take the course at mass firearm school! They had a lot of information that was really helpful on fully understanding the mass laws to carry. Helped answer all the questions I had.
I highly recommend you take the course here because of all the information and training they are able to provide you!
The Concealed Carry II class instructor was spectacular! Explained in great detail each step along the way of the class and the "why" behind everything we were covering. The live fire practice greatly improved my confidence level with my firearm, how to draw from a holster, reload, and recover each time. Fantastic class, fantastic instructor, remarkable experience. Take the class - you won't be disappointed.
Took a class here for my Mass conceal carry permit, and my instructor was very knowledgeable! I really liked how they had range time also. I plan on taking another class here in the future. Well worth the 1.5 hour drive.
As someone who came into this as a complete newbie, I found the staff to be extremely helpful and patient. The staff go beyond the call of duty to make sure you learn how to correctly handle and shoot and they want you to feel comfortable but at the same time, be aware of the responsibility in shooting a firearm. I became a member and I have found the other members to be extremely courteous and welcoming. This is a well run facility and respectable business. It is obvious that the staff are passionate about their jobs.thank you to Mass Firearms.
My wife and I took the Defense in the Home course with Mac last night. He is extremely well qualified and explains the thought process behind WHY you should set your home up in specific ways that we had never really considered. No one ever wants to have to use any of this knowledge to save their own or a loved one's life but we should all take every step to prevent ourselves from being a victim.
I recommend that EVERY person in the state of Massachusetts, regardless of your position on firearms, take this course. Its a very small investment into what could potentially prevent serious harm to yourself or your family.
The class was very informative and they focused heavily on safety. There are a lot of small things you don't think about when owning a gun and they cover all of that. In addition the instructor made us feel safe when handling the firearms and the additional tips in the firing range were great. I would have liked an option to pay an additional amount to fire a few more rounds down the range but otherwise the experience was well worth the money.
