Make sure if you park right in front of the building that you pay to park. I didn't see that we had to pay and in the middle of my meal I had to run outside before I got a ticket from the parking officer.

Other than that the food was pretty good. I loved the collard green juice where you did your cornbread and eat it as an appetizer. I would go back again.

Fantastic and proper southern restaurant. Absolutely fabulous southern and fried food!

Excellent service and there is a large parking lot too.

Was recommended as an absolute must dining destination in Atlanta and must agree with that recommendation!

Do not accept reservations.

Mary Mac's is a classic. From the fried chicken to the 3 kinds of rolls they bring to the table, to the fresh lemonade, it's the last of it's kind in Atlanta. The waitrons are there to help and the food is southern perfection. There is often a wait, so make sure everyone comes together and call ahead. Parking can also be a challenge, but the North Ave. MARTA station is 3 and a half blocks away. It's worth the regular visits! Vegetarians and omnivores alike will enjoy this place!

We were recommended to this place by some locals we bumped into. We are from South Florida and wanted to eat some real soul food. We were not disappointed! The service was excellent and the food is to die for. We had such a blast at Mary Mac's Tea Room. Will definitely come back when we are in Atlanta again. Thank you so much!

Friendly and warm customer service, and the food was great. You get a whole lot of food for the price, so because the food is delicious it helps you not realize that you just paid 14 or 15 or $20 for this entree. The Bread Basket that comes at the beginning is amazing it has tiny cornbread cups yeast rolls and cinnamon rolls. You absolutely must try the sweet tea because it's great and doesn't have that act after taste, and the atmosphere is clean and comfortable. The only reason I'm giving for instead of 5 stars is because there was a strange taste in my broccoli souffle, but the waitress was gracious and took it off of our bill. She also offered to bring something else, these things happen at restaurants so I would definitely return.

This place was packed, and they are very well managed and know how to handle a crowd. There were over 300 people, In was at a table of 20, the helped us quick and stayed attentive to all our needs. The food was exquisitely prepared and cooked correctly. For the load on the restaurant the food came fast, very impressed with the speed and friendliness of the entire staff. Kudos to management and his entire krewe!

My daughter and son-in-law live in Atlanta and we try to get to Mary Mac's at least once every time we visit. I love the rolls they serve at your table. The rolls remind me of the cafeteria rolls when I was in school, so good, great memories! I always say I am going to try something different but I always get the same thing! I try other food from plates that come to our table! I know why they have been around so long, the food is delicious! I bought their cookbook and it is great! It tells the history of Mary Mac's with pictures. Loaded with recipes of authentic dishes. The staff are informed and very good at their jobs. The largest choice of sides I have ever seen on a menu! There is something for every person that goes to Mary Mac's!

We're visiting from out of town and referred here for a good meal. We went there today for lunch and had the fried chicken live appetizer, entrees seafood platter and rainbow trout with sides okra & tomatoes, cream corn, hopping john and squash souffle. The food was good and portions were more than sufficient, but our particular server was very slow. We had to tell her numerous times to bring additional items like drink refills. I observed other servers who were much more attentive to their tables. I had to ask for plastic ware to go with my carry out leftovers.

The restaurant was packed but it is so large the wait was about 5 minutes. The atmosphere was phenomenal the hostess and the waitress were both genuinely friendly. The other employees were also phenomenal. The food was very very very good. Everything taste delicious the bread was soft and warm, the meat was hot cooked perfectly, sides were delicious cooked perfectly. Prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend Mary Mac's if you are in Atlanta.

Visited from Nashville and this place definitely lived up to the hype. Old time places like this deserve our business because of not only the history but the classic Southern cooking which never goes out of style. There is a reason this place has been featured on outlets everywhere. The food is made from scratch with authentic age-old recipes, with love and Southern charm. Incredible wait staff, lots to look at on the wall, and priced reasonably well too. You get what you pay for and portions are pretty big. I ate the cornbread dressing with roast pork, turnip greens, creamed corn, and Brunswick stew. Makes me want to get a megaphone and proclaim to the whole world, come on down and eat here y'all! 5 stars.

Truly the best time-and time well spent at that. The long line out front is worth the wait-so don't skimp out on an unforgettable experience. The ambiance is so refreshing and warm so expect to stay a while. Our host was Stevie and he was such fun. As newcomers he was patient with us and just a joy to be around. Real comfort food and a good bargain. If I could, I would be there daily (that's a tell-tale sign of a good experience).

So so good. The food was so spot on. The Fried Chickenamazing and the Pork Chops were so tender. And the Pot Likker, well yeah awesome. What I really like though is it's obvious loyalty to their wait staff. My waitress has worked there for over 20 years, and while talking to her about her longevity she pointed out two amazing women who have worked there for 45 and 43 years respectfully. Truly amazing.

Awesome place to eat. The food is delicious and reasonably priced for the type of food and proportions you receive. If you visit Atlanta or live in Atlanta this is a must place to visit. It is full of history with the most wonderful waitresses, most have been there over 15 years and Some 35 years plus. I can't say enough good things about Mary Mac's. My favorite dish is the shrimp and grits.

Painfully average. The service was good, the waitress was quick to get our order and bring the food out, but the food itself really wasn't anything special. I came here after seeing the great reviews it was getting, and ordered the chicken fried chicken, along with fries and a corn soufflé. I found the chicken to be pretty bland, nothing that you wouldn't get at a chain fried chicken restaurant, and the sides weren't anything to go out of my way for either. Finally, I also got the peach cobbler to go, and was extremely disappointed to find it was made with canned peaches, though the crust wasn't too bad. Everything cost $20 excluding tip, which for a small piece of (average) chicken, two small sides, and a small dessert, was a total rip off.

The server was impeccable tonight. We drove all day to visit friends in Atlanta and finished with dinner here. It was amazing. Every thing looked good and tasted good. We had a party of 6 and even with a busy night where able to get in with in a reasonable amount of time with no reservations. Be wary of where you park. We did get a parking ticket for parking on the street at the apartments across the street. I didn't see signs staying no parking, so know your local ordinances for parking. No biggie, didn't detract from the experience there.
