This is my favorite of the Dinosaur restaurants. High ceilings, great atmosphere, wonderful bar, lots of room, very clean, and of course great food. Service can be a little slow when they get busy so don't ever go there if you're in a hurry. And parking is on the street only, or there's a parking garage across the street. But there's no actual lot.

I mean it’s good and all, but when I got take out, I paid extra for another side. I knew I should’ve checked to see if everything was correct, my side wasn’t in there unfortunately. The portions are cut by a few which you get more if you sit down and eat there..

Went for lunch. Great service! Very attentive! No wait on Thursday. Good food. (Better than most, not *the best* I’ve ever had) $ were probably what can be expected, but a little stiff IMO. Had the 1/4 rack with M&C and Chili. Cornbread came with.

Dinosaur rocks! Such a unique restaurant. The environment inside is an adventure every time. Everything on the menu is amazing. I normally go for the ribs.
The bar is nice, plenty of space inside and out. Staff is always good. The wait times could get lengthy since everyone and their dog is having dinner at Dinosaur, but the wait is always worth it! Make sure to call ahead before you go. Reservations are ideal on a nice weekend night.response / report this review -

The Dinosaur is a Rochester CLASSIC!
All locals and all visitors need to visit the Dinosaur at least once just to say "I've had the Dinosaur BBQ"
This is the best BBQ in the North East which is why it's an It's upstate phenomenon. Multiple different delicious sauces from sweet to spicy. A vast menu with the best BBQ dishes and tons of side choices. Centrally located and a biker feel the ambience is quite unique and makes the experience even more worth the wait time.
I recommend the ribs but you can never go wrong with pulled pork either :)
Their catering is also another great way to go to experience the dinosaur and host a party with some great food.response / report this review -

Delicious! Start with smoked wings, they are succulent. The meat just falls of the bones. I liked brisket and ribs combo since i can't decide which one is better. Both equally great, again meat falls off bones, no need for a knife. The sides are all great too! Pecan pie or peanut butter pie are a perfect ending to a meal here. Don't let the long wait scare you away , it's well worth it! Or try getting there earlier!

Thank you, Hilton Garden, for recommending this place. Kids heard Dino in the title and were sold.
But the food.
We came back the next night again.tried our best to sample everything.
Life changing.
The care and attention into not just the smoking of meat, but hand made sides and sauces. Totally delicious and worth the modest nightly wait!
Shout out the the multitudes of staff cooking and prepping; the hostess stand of man what an amazing job, and our server twice, Susie!

I really don't leave reviews often but was so thrilled by the service I had to leave a comment. I work for the restaurant business so i am always aware of the service. I had just received notice the restaurant I work for had passed an inspection with flying colors while waiting to order. The server Chad not only congratulated me but we had a pleasant conversation about it. He was attentive without being pushy. It was hands down the best service my husband and i have ever received out. He also brought us free dessert for the big win. It was an amazing night with great food and service. I hope that this reaches someone that matters and Chad receives the compliment he deserves. Thanks again for the great night.

This is the second Dinosaur BBQ restaurant which is inside an old Lehigh Valley RR station, (built in 1905) making it my favorite of all the Dinosaur venues. Food is excellent all the way around but the ribs in particular are unbeatable. My son, who can be particular about what he eats, loved the wings. If you're in Rochester and you love, or even just like, BBQ, go!

Came in on a Thursday night, starving, only to be told it's a 30-45 minute wait. Luckily, we found a seat at the bar, and let me tell you it was the best decision hands down. Lisa was our bartender, she was amazing! She made us the best drinks during happy hour and made the visit enjoyable. She will be the reason we come back. Thank you Lisa ( aka rachel) you rock!

Delicious food! Great service, fun atmosphere, live music at times. Fun place to eat before or after events at Blue Cross Arena. Located centrally in downtown Rochester, near hotels, workplaces and event arena.
They have an upstairs that you can host private events at.

I made a reservation last night. We got there 10 min before the reservation time and still ended up waiting 30+ min. The restaurant was not nearly as full as I expected it to be. The server took 15 min to greet us and take the drink orders. She came back to take our orders. I ordered a BBQ brisket sandwich and fries, sounds simple right? They made my sandwich, aced it on top of a mountain of pickles,and stored it under the heat lamp while they prepared my girlfriends dinner. Meanwhile, my bun got super hot on the top, cold and soggy on the bottom, and my meat was lukewarm. At no point did the server come ask us how our food was, if we wanted a drink refill, or if she could get us anything else. We didn't see her until she came to collect our dishes (my by the way hadn't been touched and was as she brought it to me). She took my full plate and didn't even ask why I'd consumed no food. She then dropped off the check and walked away. I waited another ten minutes for her to pick it up and ended up paying at the hostess stand. I, for the first time in my life, left no tip. I will never be a patron again which is a shame since this used to be one of my favorite local restaurants. Dawn, if you're reading this, YOU NEED A NEW JOB.

Great BBQ and sides! 4 of us from. Work went and were pleasantly surprised at how good it was! Nice beer selection, wonderful side dishes and great atmosphere. I and the BBQ Jerk Salmon and loved it! Would definitely come back to this place! Try the Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout beer - hearty and deep flavors.
