My son has been coming here since he was born. He has never seen the same doctor the man behind the counter is NEVER welcoming EVER. This is the pediatric department things should be different and people should be welcoming but they aren't. I will b moving my son this week and if I had anything to do with it they should flush the staff here and start over. Customer service is at it's worst at this place. 5 stars down. Will be reporting this to Beth Linville tomorrow early morning.
Went to the Emergency Room Thanksgiving morning due to painful tooth infection. (Before anyone says anything I know they don't have dentists etc but I couldn't get any Dentists to see me over the Holiday and pain was so bad couldn't sleep the whole night). It was surprisingly empty and I was taken back almost instantly, I give credit to the nurses and staff as they were nice and friendly. The doctor and her scribe arrived before they could even enter my information so that was nice but she wasn't as friendly and seemed rushed/cold. Basically looked in my mouth real quick and gave me a prescription for antibiotics and a numbing cream.
This was basically a $275 dollar copay to get oragel which I already had and wasn't helping. As it was a deep abscess putting pressure on the nerves making my whole right jaw/head and neck in excruciating pain. I was already trying Tylenol/ibuprofen together as well no help I just sit up all night rocking in pain. Maybe it's my fault for being stoic, and being honest when she asked pain 1-10 I said 9 as I imagine 10 being torture/fingernails ripped off or intense kidney stone pain which I have had but this was close.. But I wasn't offered an xray to make sure it wasn't leaking into my neck which could be a life threatening emergency or offered something for sufficient pain relief for the next 3 days so I could sleep some and then see a Dentist Monday..
I just feel like my pain was ignored and of course nothing helped and I had to suffer the rest of the weekend. I know there are drug addicts and things but I have only been on pain medicine once in my life from a kidney stone over 4 years ago. And just because some people have chosen to be addicts doesn't mean they shouldn't help people that actually need pain medicine I would rather see an addict get a fix than to ever let someone with legitimate pain suffer. I don't see why they wouldn't offer me something that may have made it bearable to sleep. Just would think most people would have common sense to only go to the ER for excruciating pain not normal toothaches which I have had and dealt with in the past this was much worse. I give 2 stars for the friendly staff only. I received no real treatment and was made to suffer 4 days.
I went there for interview. Hospital administration should contact google /GPS to direct the main entrance from Braeburn drive .Now GPS is pointing Keagy Rd entrance which is opposite of visitor parking and also opposite of main entrance.I think that will be more convenient for visitors.
If I could give zero, I would. This facility is disgusting. Doctor Lai is a disgrace. He is rude and arrogant. Refused to take advice of family regarding a patients known issues with certain medications and then released a sick patient prematurely in order to spite me. He and this hospital will be sued for malpractice based on an inability to cooperate with medical notes and family understanding of a patient's needs. Please make sure he doesn't over see any of your family members. He may jeopardise the health of a loved one and seriously hurt them. A loved one under his care came back home after 17 days seriously overweight and with more health problems then at entry. We will be reaching out to lawyers soon.
No parking, disgusting food, 85% of nurses are horrible & they are overcrowded. I asked my husband's nurse to change the bandage on his bedsore at 4 today. I asked repeatedly all eve. At 9:45 I drove to CVS, bought huge band aids and pain relieving neosporin, came back, & changed it myself, 6 hours after I first asked. When I got the bandage off the top of his backside, there was poop inside the bandage, on his wound! This is the most sorry ass hospital I have ever seen! Want to file a formal complaint, but their links are "oops something went wrong"! So I can't even file a formal complaint!!! BS!
The very best care I have ever received at any hospital, hands down! Everyone was wonderful, personable, and made me feel well cared for! Thank you to everyone in the ER department!
Lewis Gale no longer my "hospital of choice". Perhaps necessity, but not choice. I will be contacting their administration about poor experiences with my mother-in-law recently as well as myself 4 years ago. I will re-post once I have given them a chance to respond to me. However, they have put my wife, herself a knowledgeable nurse, through absolutely undue and disproportionate stress in their premature discharge of her mother. Their assigned at-home healthcare professionals have confirmed that Lewis-Gale did NOT act appropriately.
Five star for me--excellent surgeon Dr. May! Everything about my experience was positive!
My mother was hospitalized two Thanksgivings in a row--she had excellent care both times and they saved her life both times--went in through ER who were great! She had "altitude sickness--and congestive heart failure!! I thank all who helped her through this. And finally she went through a great rehab program in hospital before she could return home to Outer Banks, NC!!
I had to give it 1 star because it wouldn't let me give zero, but it definitely does not deserve even one star. This "hospital" is a joke! They run tests and do things that when you ask why it's being done the response is, "I don't know" or "somebody must have ordered it." They can't answer any questions. You have to beg to see a doctor. When doctors do come in, they don't know any information on the patient. No one in the building communicates with each other. Everyone that came into the room asked the same questions. Read the file people! You're supposed to take care of your patients. I shouldn't have to worry about why you're doing things--I have more important things to worry about than whether you're doing your job, which is what you get paid for! I hope I NEVER have to step foot in this building again!
Rehab for stroke patient is great. Only complaint is the food compared to local Montgomery Regional hospital and the lack of consistent hours at the lobby coffee shop. Other than they, the doctors, nurses, and rehab team are top notch! Kudos.
Twice in the same year I've received bad service from Lewis Gale Hospital. Its a doctors duty to take care of their patients with respect. Not for and ER doctor to say im not going to do anything for you cause its not that important. So Lewis Gale hires drs that think their patients aren't important. and you have to go home and stick a knife in your on head to drain infection an relive pressure so you can feel better just because the dr wants to stand around and talk an not help patients then have to go back to another medical facility the next day to get the service you should have gotten to begin with. Not to say they don't have some good Drs they do, but i have encountered a lot that has the I don't care attitude and no compassion for patients.
Spouse was recently admitted and treated on outpatient basis in the endoscopy department. The staff was extremely professional and very caring during the entire time. The exam prep and exam were all timely as scheduled and the facilities were clean and well kept. Free coffee or tea was offered by a roving volunteer with drink cart for those of us waiting in the department waiting room.
