I stayed and this place with my friend for a visit and our car was badly hit in the parking lot during the night. The hotel staff was eager to avoid and responsibility and did nothing to help us find the responsible party. I find this really disturbing as it is not difficult to see that this place does not care the slightest about the safety and well-being of the customers, and all the management would do is hide and avoid trouble. Were this incident something like a robbery or murder, I do not dare to think what would happen.
I would suggest people visiting Ann Arbor to try to avoid this place at all costs. There are many other places around with better prices and more responsible management that can actually take care of their customers so why take the risk.response / report this review -

I parked my car in the parking lot for an overnight stay at this Inn and found out my car has been hit-and-run so badly that the rear wheels moved three feet from the original position. Well if you think this is awful enough then it is not the reason why I'm giving this place ONE star! The staff at the front desk had zero willingness to help, pretending she didn't know how to pull out surveillance camera footage (there was one camera right above the place I parked) and saying there is nothing she could do for us.
If you don't want this kinda of situation happen to you and your car, definitely avoid this place.response / report this review -

Stayed 2 nights in October 2017, for appointment at U of M Hospital. Modest older motel, pretty much out of the 1970's---but a "good" 1970's. Wonderfully comfortable king-size bed with plenty of pillows. Had small kitchenette-type facility (sink, cupboard, fridge, microwave, table with 3 chairs) in room. Tiled bathroom is small, but OK. Clean facility. Breakfast room is pleasant and offerings are simple (muffins, cereals, juice, coffee, some fruit). Friendly competent staff. Good Ann Arbor location at intersection of Washtenaw and East Stadium. Great bargain for what paid ($71 total, including taxes) on Mon/Tue nights. Will stay there again in November.

Staff was excellent and the rooms were comfortable. I would definetly consider staying here again if I were to ever visit Ann Arbor again. 👍

While it's no five star hotel, The University Inn is a quiet, comfortable, and convenient stay for anyone visiting Ann Arbor. The rate for our room was very reasonable (especially for two graduate students on a budget), and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful.

It was a great place -- not a mansion or a Hilton, but I would have paid triple for those places. Clean, comfortable, quiet. Well-priced. What sticks in my head most, though, is the eager kindness of the staff: it's been a while, so I don't remember names, but everyone behind the desk, no matter what time, was interested, polite, friendly, and efficient. The only thing I found a little problematic was that wi-fi in the building was not good, so I ended up doing my work for hours in the breakfast room, but no one bothered me there. When I come to AA again, I'll aim for your inn -- and it didn't hurt that there was the oasis of a Trader Joe's next door!

We stay at The University Inn when my husband has an appointment at the VA. We came across them, looking on the internet for something close to the VA facility. The rooms have been renovated and are very comfortable, the price is good and we are given a discount for hospital visit and it's very easy and quick to get from the motel to the VA. And the staff is always friendly and helpful. I definitely give them a 5 star rating.

Friendly young lady at the front desk. Rooms were clean. The beds were some of the most comfy I've slept in at a hotel. Good location. Near downtown, but not too close.

nice and affordable, yet still quality. great, comfy beds. breakfast wasn't expected, so while it was just some basic toast/muffins/etc, it was still good. would recommend!

For an inexpensive motel, it is cozy and clean. The WiFi is a little spotty (especially with the wireless being IN the room) but it is extremely clean and the beds, although not pillow tops, are comfortable. The showers could do with a little update but you get almost instant hot water. Now, the bad part. Don't expect breakfast. They serve the utmost definition of "continental breakfast." Now don't get me wrong, cold coral and bagels are not bad and can be filling. But after traveling all over it is surprising to find such a minimalistic breakfast. In conclusion, if you are looking for an inexpensive night stay and really don't mind a minimal breakfast, then this is the place for You! I would come back and would not hesitate to do so.

This is one of the best motel experiences I've had. Room was clean, employees were friendly, and it even came with a light breakfast (bagels, cereal, oatmeal). The price was right for the area. Was two miles from downtown and it only cost about $6 to Uber there. Will stay again!

I have stayed at your hotel for the past 5 years and booked 3 rooms online with a request that the rooms be next to each other. Never had a problem until this year when we were all separated. When checking in and pointing this request out to reception, the rooms were changed and we were reassigned 3 rooms next to each other. Clean, tidy, basic and relaxed as in past years.
