I’ve been admiring these guys from afar for some time now (live in Seattle) and finally made it in. Really nice spot with a great food truck outside (Streats). Had the Greenwood IPA and scored a T-shirt. I’ll be back next time I’m in Bellingham.

Great beer, comfortable setting, friendly service. I had a sampler flight, and really enjoyed nearly all of the beers I tried. The Dry Stout was super smooth and rich with flavor, the Saison was pleasantly citrusy, the Vienna Lager was balanced and very drinkable, the Irish Red was pretty much exactly what I expect in a red, the wit was also very refreshing and light, and the wheat shandy was dangerously easy to drinka pitcher of it on a summer afternoon would be heavenly. We enjoyed the spacious patio in the shade of an umbrella. A bbq food truck was also on site providing items to munch on. The brewery is very inviting and relaxed.

Kicked me out for not wearing shoes, during a hot summer day, while I was sitting outside. Tried to say it was a health code, when I told them that health code only applies to staff and not customers, they told me it was an insurance thing (broken glass), when I told them that no one has ever been sued for stepping on broken glass, they told me it was just policy. Well kulshan, it's a stupid policy, and one that there is no legal reason for you to have. Stop discriminating against people who are being themselves. This "no shirt no shoes no service" thing started in the 60's as a way to discrimate against poor people (hippies). There is no law. Stop be ignorant, Educate yourselves.

Great beer with a good price. It has a nice, calm, chill atmosphere. You can go order food from near by restaurants and they will deliver it to you.

Great beer, good people! The location on James is cozy and welcoming. Employees are friendly. The beer is great, every last one. A must-do if you're visiting Bellingham!

Kulshan, like Sierra-Nevada circa 1992 used to be, is my reference when I try other brews. Last time I was there was Summer 2013.

Royal Tannenbaum Christmas Beer
(An ale. And not some stupid sweet and malty Winter warmer. This is evolved Wintertime holiday ale for the Winter Solstice, the Yule, Christmas, and what have you. Nothing like it ever.)

When I first encountered Kulshan, they had on tap the old recipe of the Orange Blossom Special IPA. I'd hoped they would recurrent old recipes from the last two centuries. I guess not. Yet it was the best.

I really like it when I get a chance to pop into Kulshan for some of their tasty and unique beers. I was even more delighted that they are so food-truck friendly, the visit I'm going to talk about involved a tasty flight of 6 taster beers and some delicious food out on their patio. I'd recommend it as a great lunch stop.

Kulshan has taken the time to be a good bar, with pool tables and plenty of seats, as well as a beer stop. But as a beer stop, the 10-12 different beers will keep you interested, and you can get a growler fill from there too. We loaded up two for camping, and they went down very nicely a few hours later when we drank them.

Overall, I really enjoy this place, interesting beers and friendly atmosphere.
