While the Heron Inn in La Conner seems at first to be a bit out of the way, the town is so small that you can easily walk from your room to the downtown in five minutes or less so don't spend more just to be close to the water or get a view. And pay more for the privilege.
I stayed in one of the remodeled upstair King sized bed suites with fireplace, armoire, and queen folding futon (thinking this would be a great way to splurge with children). Bed was comfortable and came with a warm down comforter. I liked the old tiles that had been retained in the bathroom. I felt that I was going back in time.
Al, the innkeeper after making me a regular North American full breakfast to order (oh, would you like a smoothie as well?) suggested a few other places nearby for lunch (El Gitano) and dinner (Seeds) that are also popular with locals.
One Tip: Ask to see what is available. I originally was going to get a standard room and decided that a larger room was better.
The decor is amazing, the rooms are super comfy and the people are really nice. Definitely would recommend to others.
This place was great! Very friendly staff. The room was great and not to mention their breakfast it was delicious and had a variety of choices! Defenently coming back soon👍.
We had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Heron. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The atmosphere was very cozy and inviting. The variety at breakfast was unique and delicious. We will recommend The Heron to others and definitely stay there again.
Even though we didn't stay there because they were booked, the owner was more than helpful trying to find us a place to stay, finding us directions and looking up prices. If someone takes that amount of time to help someone find another bed and breakfast in town, I can't imagine how well you would be treated as a guest. If I'm ever back in town I will definitely stay here!
The location is outside of downtown La Conner, but easily within walking distance. The owner/host was welcoming, helpful and easy to talk to. Our room (a fireplace king-size bed suite) was well-adorned and spacious, if a bit pricey. However, what made up for the price was the rest of the hotel - a beautiful backyard area with chairs abundant, a good breakfast served on the back patio consisting of fruit, eggs, pancakes and bacon, and overall helpful and kind people. If you don't mind walking or driving a couple of blocks to get to the waterfront, this is a great option in La Conner.
Huge bath tub. Comfortable bed and room. Surpassed my expectations. Delicious breakfast in the gazebo. What more could you ask for?
Quiet little place where each room has a different layout. Wonderful homemade breakfast in the morning. Slightly located off the main drag which is a bit of a downfall but worth it.
Warm & Cozy feeling throughout the Inn Great location close to shopping and restaurants. All the Comforts of home and more. Fabulous staff and amazing breakfast.
Beautiful facility, charming decor, great location. No spa services..
They advertise The heron inn and day spa? wheres the Spa?
Signed up for a couples massage but was running low on time. Arrived early and talked to gentleman at the front who moved our time slot up and booked a separate massage for myself to shorten the time. Very nice and friendly. Great service.
