the past three visits we have made have been increasingly disappointing. :-( I'm pretty sure we can't recommend this anymore. This last visit even with call ahead seating we were seemingly bypassed for other guests, give in very poor cold outdoor seating, unacceptable delay to turn on heater or even check in with our table. Waiter who seemed to want to be doing anything else then being there that evening. A manager who dismissively came over to check on us and apologize but only offered words, nothing else to ensure a more positive experience. And on top of it all most disappointing steak we've ever had in the entire area let alone this restaurant and the rest of the food was just "meh", okay. We used to go here for our favorite meals and celebrations. It was embarrassing to share it with a special guest.
Went to Kingfish Grille for the first time today for lunch. Several specials on the menu. Ordered an appetizer, spinach and artichoke dip. The center was barely warm when it arrived. Told our server. He brought us a new (hot) one and took app off bill, even though we said we would pay for it. We both had Mahi blackened fish wraps which were very good. Finished by sharing a piece of scrumptious key lime pie. Excellent service and customer care. Will return! Linda
We hadn't been in a while as it's a bit of a drive for us but our recent trip reminded me of why we used to come more often. Food was great, service was outstanding from Krista (sp?) and chef Austin's sushi was wonderful in both taste and presentation. Couldn't have been better.
Great waterfront restaurant for seafood. Their fish tacos and fish sandwiches are excellent. Sit under the tent at the edge of the river, the views are great. Service is always good, too.
Great location great veiw. Always had great service at the bar. Love the fried shrimp but sometimes other items on the menu are hit an miss but still one of my favorite restaurants.
Tourist restaurant. Meal ready in 10 minutes. Fast food is NOT what you want in a restaurant like this. Tasted fair. Definitely frozen NOT fresh shrimp and scallops. Service very poor. Sat us in the middle of three other tables. I was continually banged into by waiters and people trying to squeeze by. The fact we had a reservation did not help with where we were seated. Not an enjoyable experience at all.
DISCLAIMER- THIS RESTAURANT IS ONLY GETTING ONE STAR BECAUSE IT WON'T ALLOW ME TO GIVE IT A ZERO WHICH IS MORE THAN IT DESERVES!
I will NEVER eat here again. Worst service ever!!!! The hostess asked if we wanted indoor or outdoor seating. We asked for outdoor. She then told us that it was unavailable unless we wanted to eat outside on the picnic table. We were very hesitant, but went ahead and tried it. It was absolutely disgusting! A meal for three people was over $85- not including a tip- for us to sit at a picnic table! When she seated us, the entire area was covered in dragonflies and she kept giggling over and over saying,"Oh my. Oh my. It's never like this." All the way she was just giggling and grinning like a middle schooler. We had to wait for service for so long from our server Jamie -who is male- I'm only giving that detail so that no one else will mistakenly avoid anyone named Jamie who is female-that my back begin to extremely hurt, considering that I had no back to my seat. They did have a cute little smoking area that had nicely painted Adirondack chairs that I was able to sit in, but unfortunately I had to eat my entire hot meal on my lap and my daughter had to bring it to me and she set with me as well. Not one time after my husband explained to the server where we were did server Jamie ever come over and see if we needed anything. In fact, I had to wait so long for ketchup that had to be brought from our table by us that my French fries were cold and I never did get any butter for my potato so I didn't get to eat that, either. They never even offered us another table! This just happened today, so Jamie, if you're wondering why you didn't get a tip now you know! Maybe you can try to do a better job. We are very good tippers. We never leave less than 25%. Your bad service cost you 20 some dollars tonight. I hope whatever you were doing that was more important than serving us was worth it. Anyone who goes there after reading this is a fool!!!!;!;
We enjoyed the food quite a lot. My wife really enjoyed the oysters and crab legs. I had a steak. It was tasty but slightly under cooked. Probably would have give stared but our waiter was a bit off. We were sitting outside and we appear to have been his only table outside. So he was hard to get attention from and we seem to have been forgotten a bit. On the plus side there was a live 3 piece Cuban band and they really spiced up dinner. All in all we enjoyed our night put.
The waitress was very nice and provided excellent service. Their menu is filled with many options, and they also have another menu with all of their sushi plates. The only downside is that it's hard to narrow down what to choose (at least for me).
We sat outside, enjoying beautiful views. The biggest problem were the flies and mosquitoes that joined our table. Hopefully they'll get fans to discourage these annoying pests.
The food was good, but pricey. I ordered the Crab, Shrimp & Scallop Florentine ($26!). When my food arrived, it looked like a bowl of slop, which wasn't what I was expecting. It tasted better than it looked, but left a lot to be desired when considering its steep price.
I don't have any plans to return.
WONDERFUL!!!! Gorgeous view, right on the water, amazing food, and great service. We've been coming to St Augustine for years but tonight was our first visit here. We all agree..We have a new favorite restaurant!!
Great views, great food and great people. Price is reasonable. Parking can get a little difficult but they do have a guy in a golf cart to drive you up if you have to park to far out
Great service and great food. The view is priceless. Drinks were also good and delivered promptly.
We had read some bad reviews about the service so we were a little skeptical but our server Michelle was great. I had the strip steak which was perfectly cooked and my mom had the mahi grilled which was also good. The warm garlic bread is awesome.
Our server Louis was very kind and helpful. Hubby had the Kingfish Country Boil and loved every bite. I had the Captains Platter and asked for it to be broiled to which they adjusted with no problem. It was delicious. Higly recommended. Would come again.
Loved this place! We sat out on the deck and watched boats coming and going while some light music played. We had the sampler platter and the seafood platter, both excellent! Jamie was our waiter and he did an amazing job! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they were out of mussels. Very nice atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
