It's one of the best museums I've ever been. The special showcase charges money but the permanent artworks are in a separate building and that one is completely free. I was surprised to see multiple of Monet's paintings inside the regular building. It also had a section for Neoclassical/Renaissance artworks and they are very cool. The gifts in the little shop were kind of expensive but they were in the affordable range. If you're looking for inexpensive little souvenirs then I suggest the postcards (around $1) that have various artworks printed on them. Great museum!

This is one of my favorite art museums. It is amazing that we have such a jewel so close to us. The permanent collection on display never ceases to amaze and the traveling exhibitions are world-renown. Even if you are not an art fan, there is always something to enjoy at the Kimbell!

Great exhibits and really nice staff. It is certainly worth the drive over from Dallas or a place to consider going if you are in the area for whatever reason. I saw the recent Queen Nefertari exhibit and even though exhibits on Ancient Egypt aren’t new for museums I think the Kimbell makes the experience unique enough that it doesn’t seem like something you may have seen before . I think the way they design their exhibition galleries is really great in general. The staff and doyens were very helpful also.IMO it is definitely a quality museum.

Gorgeous museum and this whole end of town is fun if exploring art and artifacts is your thing.

4 stars only because it was very hard to find the exhibit we were looking for and by the time we got there, we had to drag two strollers up and down several flights of stairs in the outdoor walkways.

There is probably another way to get where we were going, but it was hard to tell where because the outdoor area is so dimly, but artistically, lit.

If your group is exclusively fully mobile adults you'll think it's great and have no issue, but dragging kids in a stroller is a bit hard especially after dark and not knowing where you're going.

Had an amazing date with my girlfriend here! Just enjoying the art and also sketching! Tho I must admit I am not very good😂 but it was still fun none the less. The collection is amazing and the staff was so nice! I will definitely be returning!!

This museum is awesome! I seriously can't believe it's free! Lots of art from big name artists, staff is very helpful/knowledgeable, free kids area is one of my kids' favorite places to play!

I adore the Kimbell. Every visit is a treat. The Wold of Casanova was the special exhibition. Very creative display of beautiful objects' de art from the time of Casanova. Definitely worth making the effort to visit.

Beautiful place. The art is great. The the atmosphere as well. Had to go because I had to draw it for my architect class. It's well worth the trip. And it's free to get it. Except where they have special events.

This art museum is quite nice to visit. Admission is free for permanent collection. That being said, it has very limited collection. I have visited met and art institute of Chicago. Next to those, it doesn't stand. But it's nice to visit there.

Really awesome place! Most of the exhibits are completely free. They feature art from some notable artists, such as Michaelangelo and Picasso, and art from lots of different cultures and time periods. Great place to spend the morning or afternoon if you have any interest at all in art. The complex is gorgeously designed, inside and out. One of my favorite places to visit in Ft. Worth

I visited this place twice since I am in Dallas. Both time due to a conference. This place is very good for such type of occasion, because whenever you get bored, just visit the nearby museum to entertain yourself. There you will find lots of historic objects those will take you thousand years ago. very nice place and must visit.

Went for their new Modern Visiin art exhibit opening and we had a great time. They do a real good job hosting events. Collection was a good mix of artists.

FREE! Small museum of various types of visual art, mostly historic & classical with a contemporary exhibit. The cafe (small meal & drink ~$10) is good with free refills. There was a knitting group while we were there. Some of the exhibits are in a separate building close by. The campus is nice with trees and modern waterfalls. Loved it!

Kimball Art Museum is FREE. It is small as well, but the content and variety of exhibits are great. It is peaceful and serene. A great place to visit during the day. Exhibits vary, but seeing painting, culture and pieces up close gives a much more humbling experience to art, life and us. The Kimball has a cafe, and outdoor seating. There are two buildings, underground parking which is small.

The "Drop In Studio" program is an incredible learning experience. It is hosted most Saturdays during the month, the calendar is found online. You can begin signing up at 12pm, which I recommend since they are only able to accept the first 20 children. The "class" begins at 1pm with a quick trip through the gallery. Which piece(s) are highlighted depends on the topic (which changes each month). After listening to the teacher, the class goes back to the studio to create our own piece of art to take home.

We have been going monthly for a few years now and the topics are never repeated. We also get to create pieces of art with materials I don't normally keep around the house. It is an amazing way to introduce children to the world of art!
