Peace and quiet
Amazing wilderness for hiking. Lots of trails and lots of wildlife to be observed. I would be careful with doing overnight hikes in the area due to its remoteness and multiple spottings of black bears.
If you want to see what natural, untouched Florida is like, this is the place to come. It is very remote and a great spot for backpacking to camp at Hidden Pond. If you hike, it's a great day trip from Juniper Springs to Hidden Pond and back (11mi round trip). Make sure you leave early enough to get back before the sun goes down. Black bears are active close to the campground especially in the fall.
For primitive camping in the state of Florida, nothing beats this area. There are ancient sinkholes that people have turned into shrines. There is wildlife galore. There is the Long Cemetary (circa late 1800s). This is real Florida.
