Such a quaint and quirky place with friendly staff and delicious food! Part of our group took the Spurs bus to the game after drinks and appys while we stayed and had a great meal. Super fun!
One of my favorite places to eat. Good appetizers and entrees. However, sometimes the cuts of beef can be inconsistent and small for the price. Their pickled green beans and bloody marys are out of this world! My Mom always orders the "El Rey" burger and absolutely loves it. The inside dining area and is a little crammed and noisy but otherwise very nice atmosphere.
The steaks are terrific, and, at the price, astounding. The kitchen uniformly does a first-class job on the menu, and they deserve appreciation$ for the consistent quality that brings people back. The only negative is that the whiskey pour can be small, depending on the bartender. Great tips and a careful request for a nice pour sometimes have good effect, though at a more upscale steakhouse this would be unnecessary. Since whiskey is half what's advertised in the neon on the windows, you'd think they'd do a little better, and would probably make for better overall volume and profit, particularly now that there's so much more competition in the area.
A really nice place. I've always passed by but never stopped before. I love atmosphere, the music, and the food. It's a very comfortable place to enjoy a meal, highly recommend stopping by!
Friday night and very busy but fast seating. Pleasant waitress and decent service. Not a huge fan of flavorless food. Nothing we ordered had any real flavor. We ordered: hot wings for a starter, the Rib Eye, and T-bone. The wings were good but so hot we couldn't pick them up for a while. The bread was sandwich bread, not even warm. For a $23 T-bone I was expecting Roadhouse steak, not even close. I usually get the $25 boneless Rib Eye at RH and it's hands down the best. Cute place but other than a new place to go it wasn't anything special and not worth the price they charge.
This place was fantastic. The chicken fried steak, mash potatoes and gravy were truly special. The service and atmosphere were great as well.
My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice cozy spot and we found it here. The prices were good, the food was good, and the service was great. I suggest this spot if you're on a budget and want good food at a romantic place.
High marks for the atmosphere and the very friendly waitstaff. However the food was sub standard. I couldn't even finish the food it was just that unimpressive. I ordered chicken fried steak and the batter was just falling off the steak. The steak itself was just not very good. My wife also did not finish her battered catfish. With such friendly waitstaff I feel the restaurant owes them, in presenting better food through them
Went there for the amazing steaks that were advertised on their site. To be honest is was one of the worst tasting steaks I have had. The meat itself was tender and pleasant but it seems as if they do not use any type of seasoning at all. I actually had to put salt and pepper on it from the table shakers. The atmosphere was amazing and the wait staff was excellent, just wish the food lived up to the hype. Would try again but will opt for another dish.
Service is good. Sadly, the food is not. I ordered the Bone-in strip and it was the worst steak I have ever had in a restaurant. Steaks at IHOP are probably better. The meat had no taste to it. I tried adding A1, but ultimately decided it was unpalatable even with the sauce. The corn on a cob on the side was also tasteless (steamed with no seasoning or butter). Worth mentioning that their tenderloin burger is absolutely amazing. Overall, three stars.
Barbara our server was great! The steaks were cooked perfect to order. Whiskey and drink selection were great! Great celebration with our family today.
I tried the sausage nachos for my appetizer which had good flavor, just not a good combination. The sausage was not what I was expecting, it was more of a kielbasa sausage rather than a ground sausage which it might just be me but ground sausage would've been a better choice. Next I tried both the 8oz sirloin and the chicken fried steak. The 8oz sirloin was a good char but that was all I could say about the flavor without later drowning it with A1. Next was the chicken fried steak which looked great, unfortunately that dream was watered down. The gravy had very little flavor which took away from the overall flavor of the steak, the batter was a good light type of batter which would be a good choice except that the steak patty was too hardy to be kept inside the thin batter. Lastly was dessert which I had the peach cobbler. This is what compelled me to give it another star. The cobbler was neither crunchy nor soft, it was just right and the flavor was not too sweet but just the right amount needed to satisfy my sweet tooth. Overall it was an okay establishment.
The Spinach Artichoke dip is a delicious(!) and generous choice! I got the El Rey burger-perfect for the big meat craving! To wrap it up, I finished with blueberry cheesecake. Sometimes I wish I had a bigger stomach 😋 how I went this long without trying this place is terrible, I am going to be a regular here.
