Arguably one of the best restaurants in Solon. The food is fantastic and service is always fast at lunch-time. Quality is excellent and prices are very reasonable. Be prepared - they are cash-only.
My husband and I are in town for a long weekend. We always look for places to eat that aren't part of a chain. So. We did some research and found Jim's Open Kitchen for breakfast.
What a great find! Breakfast was great. Loved the home fries. My husband got ham with his pancakes and it was a nice, thick slice as he likes.
It's a small place, but a real gem. They have old time jukebox selection machines at each booth. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We ended up sitting at the counter by the grill and had a great time kidding with the cooks and waitresses.
Good, fresh food. Worth visiting for sure!
I am completely satisfied with food, quick service and priceI love Monte Cristo here
My favorite diner in the area. Heads up, they're cash only, so be sure to have that on hand. They do have an ATM inside, but I'm sure there's a surcharge from the bank to use it.my favorite item on the menu is called "The Herb Nelson" This place is always busy, so if you plan to go in a large group, you could be waiting a bit to be seated, and the "waiting" area isn't that large at all, it can accommodate about 4 people comfortably. The options to sit are booths or bar top stools.
Food was awesome Reba was excellent server. Had chance to visit jim also. Great food with great prices.
Great food at very reasonable prices And they don't stint on portion size here, like so many other places do. (love the Tuna melt, the Monte Cristo, the Reuben and the Herb Nelson-eggs scrambled with cheese, home fries + sausage, ham or bacon). Bring cash, they don't take credit cards. Also, their milkshakes are heavenly (also the rice pudding, if your lucky enough to score a piece)
The definition of "Americana" should be changed to "see Jims Open Kitchen." Delightful breakfast food and friendly staff make this a must-visit establishment. Once you do, you'll be coming back for life.
Great food for a very fair and reasonable price,,, why go anywhere else, Triple D should come to Jim's, would love to see the owner, Chris Wilson on TV!!
This place is cozy but is always busy. The food is excellent and does not taste like any chain restaurant. The price is really good for the quality of food. They only except cash though. So worth every bite.
We are out of towners! Did a search of near by breakfast places & this was one. Highly recommend! From the cooks, servers & even the bus boy, perfect in every way. Click on my photo for actual shot of what they serve up! Thanks Jim's Open Kitchen for a wonderful experence! 5 stars at least!
Used to go to the big guy when in town (farm) found this place
Great oldies diner great staff cheerful and helpful food cooked quick and was great
Yup, I have to give this place a 5 star review, too. I'm from out of town and I might not have found this diner if it wasn't for Google Reviews. Great food, good service, fun 1950's diner.
